Ch. 4- Sister
*~*Kamalei’s POV*~*
Did he just call me sis and say mini-road trip?! Holy shit balls. This is really happening…
“What do you mean? You aren’t going to leave me out in the middle of the desert somewhere are you?” I joked.
Please don’t. Seriously.
He laughed, “No…Geez am I that scary?” he asked as he walked back over to the table slamming his hand on it, knocking Brian back to reality. “Brian, move. My sister Kamalei needs a shot.” He said as he poured a shot of Jack for everyone, handing them out.
“To our newest member of the Sanders family and the Avenged family!” he preached.
“Salud!” Everyone yelled before downing their shots.
“I’m sorry; I didn’t catch your name.” My brother asked Kelly.
“Kelly. I’m a big fan… Sorry… I’m nervous.” She stammered on.
“It’s ok Kelly. Relax, that’s why we have shots! Thanks for coming to support my sister.” He said putting a hand on her shoulder reassuringly. “Oh Zacky come here, you need to properly meet these 2 ladies since you were too busy in the shower…” He said pulling Zacky over.
“This is my new sister Kamalei and her friend Kelly.” He said introducing us to him.
“Hi. So sister huh? Crazy.” Zacky said shyly.
“Yeah. It is pretty crazy. You guys were awesome tonight. I just wanted to let you know…” I said looking at my brother and Zacky, feeling my cheeks get warm when I met Zacky’s beautiful green eyes.
Dammit. Those eyes. Dammit. He’s even hotter up close.
“Thanks. I like your shirt by the way.” He said looking at my Misfits tank, “So where did you girls come from? I can tell you guys don’t look like you came from this Phoenix, Arizona hell hole…” Zacky asked as we sat down on the couch.
“We came from Hawaii. Maui really.” I answered.
“Whoa! Holy shit. For real? That’s far! You mean you took a plane all the way here for one concert?” he asked shocked.
“Well, and to find my brother.”
“I thought she was bat-shit crazy when she wanted to spend all this money to come out here for one damn concert but I let her drag me along anyway. If I had known it was really to meet her brother than I would have thrown out the bat-shit part. Bitch is still crazy though…” Kelly confessed.
“Shut up bitch.” I said looking down at my hands trying not to blush.
“Would you two like a beer?” Brian came over and asked with two cold ones in his hands.
“Sure. Thanks Brian.” Kelly replied, this time she looked down attempting to not blush at her crush as he smiled at her before sitting down too.
“So, does that make you Hawaiian then? I mean your name is obviously not something I have heard before, but like is your mom Hawaiian?” Matt asked as he looked over the pictures I had given him earlier.
“Yeah. I am. My mom’s Hawaiian. She doesn’t really know I have those either.” I said as Matt handed them back to me. “So you said mini-road trip?” I asked getting back on subject.
“Oh yeah… Well, you don’t have any plans for the next few days do you?” he asked sitting back down at the table.
“No. This was all we really had planned. We were gonna get a rental car and drive and look at shit. Just 2 island girls driving around getting lost until we have to fly home.” I said laughing with Kelly.
“Ok good. You and Kelly are coming with us to Huntington Beach. Dad wants to meet you. He said he was going to explain everything. I’m probably as curious as you are as to what the fuck is going on…” my brother said.
“Really?!” I said starting to cry again.
“Whoa. Are you ok?” Zacky said putting his arm around me.
“Yeah. Sorry… I just didn’t think that I was going to be able to even meet my own brother and now I get to meet my dad too. This is just so much better than I thought it would be and I’m so happy.” I said wiping my face with the back of my hand.
Wait a second. Zacky has his arm around me. Oh he’s so sweet and I just met him. Dammit. I hate my boyfriend now… I wonder If I could just leave him…Good in theory but horrible in reality. It’s not like he’s sweet. Not like Zack. He’s nothing like him…
“Alright new sister, enough crying! Big brother Jimmy is here to make sure we are all happy on our happy happy road trip!” Jimmy jumped up excitedly.
“Oh great. This is going to be a long drive home…” Brian said sarcastically before getting up and grabbing another beer.
Before sitting down, I saw him looking at Kelly. He came over to her and asked, “Would you like a small tour of the bus since, well you know, you will be with us for a few days?”
Obviously flustered she turned to me seeking my approval, before jumping up, “Yeah. That’d be nice.” As she walked off with Brian, she shot me a smile.
“So I take it you don’t have the Sanders name?” Matt asked.
“I actually do. It’s hyphenated and I only have it on my legal documents. My full name is Kamalei Mili Kealoha-Sanders. I don’t tell people about the Sanders part though. Mostly because I didn’t know where it really came from. In Maui, it’s all about who your family is and who you know. I didn’t know, so I just went with Kealoha because that’s all I knew.” I said before taking a big swig of my neglected beer.
“Wow. That’s kinda rough. I’m sorry I didn’t know.” Matt apologized to me.
“It’s ok. It took me a long time to find out anything. My mom wouldn’t tell me shit. She always would change the subject when I asked her anything about my father.” I replied before taking another gulp.
“Well that makes 2 of us in the dark.” Matt said taking a swig of his beer.
“My God you two are so alike!” Val gasped clapping her hands. “Ooooo. I’m so excited to have another sister-in-law. Come here and stand up with Matt. I want to take a picture of the two of you!” She said pulling out her camera phone and snapping a shot of my brother and me with his large muscular arm around my tiny shoulders.
Kelly and Brian came back in the room; they both had the biggest grins plastered on their faces.
“So do you girls have stuff you want to grab before we take off to Cali?” Val asked us.
“Yeah. But I don’t know how we will get back over here again. It was hard enough the first time…” I answered.
“Yeah how did you get back here past security anyways?” Brian asked.
“She flashed her big bomber tits and bent over before threatening the security guy at the gate…” Kelly blurted out.
“Well… Crazy is right…” Zacky said quietly looking at me and smirking before standing up and walking to the table for a new beer.
I could feel my cheeks getting red. I looked away at Kelly and gave her the death glare. I could kill her for saying that in front of my brother and my crush.
“Oh yeah… Definitely a Sanders…” Matt said as she stood up and began rifling through a drawer. “Only a Sanders girl can give a glare like that. My, or really, OUR sister Amy has that same look. Here. You don’t have to do that anymore.” He said handing Kelly and I 2 VIP passes. “In fact, please DON’T do that anymore. No sister of mine needs to exploit herself.”
“Thanks. I didn’t want to but I had to see you.” I explained.
“Whatever the reason. Just don’t do that anymore. Here. Put my phone number in your phone.” He said as he gave me his cell number, “Call me if you need anything. I will come down there and punch a security guard in the face if I need to.”
“Ok girls, why don’t you two go and grab your things and meet us back here in an hour?” Val said.
“Ok. Sounds awesome. I’m so excited.” I said as Kelly and I finished off our beers before heading out back across the concert grounds to the rental car.
This is the greatest day of my life. I have found my brother. I have found my father. I will meet my brother’s family. I’m a part of it now. All of the guys are so nice. I am so happy I brought Kelly with me. I couldn’t have done this alone. Plus she would have killed me if I didn’t bring her along to meet the infamous Avenged Sevenfold…
