“Hayley, Brian!” I heard Suzy screaming from downstairs. “Dinner's ready!”


“Coming!” Brian yelled, sitting next to me, not leaving his eyes from the television.

He paused the game, that we were playing at, and let the remote on his seat as he stood up. I did the same. I followed Brian down the stairs. As soon as we entered into the kitchen, the awesome smell of spaghetti made us smile. I swear, Suzy was the best at cooking. We both sat a the table. Brian's dad was already sitting there. Not long after, Suzy arrived with our plates. Heaven.

“So! Are you guys ready for college?!” Brian Sr. asked us.

Indeed, I maybe forgot to mention it. Brian and I were starting our first day at college, the day after. We were going to be in the same school together for the first time. Also, we were going to have a room over there. So we wouldn't live with Brian's parents anymore.

“Yeah! I'm fucking excited!” Brian said, his mouthful of food.

“Don't get too excited over the girls, I won't be there to look after you.” His dad said kidding.

“Don't bother about that! You know me hein!” Brian answered back.

I couldn't tell if he was still a virgin, Brian and I were best friends, we could say everything to each other but never we talked about it. I remember he had 2 or 3 girlfriends since I'm living here. Brian was such a pretty and nice guy, he always had to pick the most superficial ones, you can already guess that it never really worked. I think the longest relation he had was about a month. Of course, it was obvious for my part I never really had a boyfriend...

“Hayley?” I heard Brian's dad calling my name, making me going out of my own head.

“Mmm.. What?”

“Are you excited too?”

“Yeah!” I answered but to be honest. I was scared but I knew that Brian was going to be there so It would be totally fine.

Brian's dad just nodded and we all continued eating in silence. But not the awkward kind. We finished eating and Brian and I went back upstairs in his room to continue the game we were playing earlier on his Xbox.

“I hope we'll be in the same classes.” Brian said, not leaving his eyes from the tv.

“Yeah me too. You won't really have a problem if you are not with me. It would be worst for me..” I said back, not leaving my eyes from the tv either.

I felt his eyes on me. I was still looking in front of me when I saw that he paused the game. It didn't leave me choice then just to look at him.

“Why do you say that?” he asked.

“I mean, you have actually no problems making new friend and you know I suck at these things..” I answered back.

“Stop being so rude to yourself, I'm sure all guys will want to know you. Just look at you! You are pretty and such a nice friend!” He said loudly and laughing.

I just couldn't believe what he just said. I started to blush and looked back to the tv, just to avoid his stare. He probably noticed it already, he knew I didn't have a lot of confidence.

“Anyway, I would still be sad if you weren't in the same classes a me...” He said looking back at the tv and putting the game on play again.

I just took the remote back and started to play again, in silence. For about 2 hours, we still played without talking. After, we just decided it was late enough cause we had to wake up early, the next morning. I left Brian's room very quietly, walking like a mouse, not to wake up Brian's parents, but unfortunately my phone started playing Mr. Bungle's song Carrousel as loud as it could. I understood right away that I was being called by Brian, who was, by the way, not even 2 foot steps from me. That goof. I took my phone and hurried up going in my room for answering it.

“What the fuck Brian! You are crazy, it's almost 2 AM and I'm sure I've woke up your parents because of my ring tone.” I whispered loudly.

“It doesn't matter, it's the last we'll do, and it's not like we've woke them up from an other kind of sound!” He said, kidding, he would always be kidding like that, which was making me blush all the time.

“What do you want?” I sighed, leaning on my door.

“I forgot to say good night, Hayley.” He said quietly on the other side of the phone.

I smiled softly as I went laying onto my bed. This guy was literally crazy.

“Why didn't you just opened your door and told me? I was just in front of it.”

“I know that, I heard your ring tone too, nice song by the way, I'm really wondering who showed you this pretty awesome band, probably a really handsome guy!” He laughed.

I laughed softly putting my hand in front of my mouth.

“You silly! That doesn't answer my question!”

"Because I was already almost undressed"

“Come on, it wouldn't be like the first time I see you like this!” I laughed.

“Yeah, that's the thing, I want to make it easier for you, it's probably hard to keep yourself in place when you see my handsome body!” He laughed.

I knew he was only kidding, but in a way it was kinda true. His body.. My gosh. How can I say... Just perfect! He was muscled and had awesome sleeves tattoos. I couldn't help but smile to that thought.

“Yeah, yeah... That's what you hope! Dream on!” I said laughing.

I looked at my clock and saw how late it was, pretty late let's say.

“Anyway, We have to go to sleep, look how late it is.” I said.

I heard him moving from the other side of the phone, probably looking at his clock.

“Yeah indeed, you're right. Sleep tight Bestie!” He said. I smiled and answered.

“Sleep tight Brian.” I said as I hung up.

I smiled and sighed. It was so hard to think that the day after we wouldn't be here anymore but in college. I stood up and undressed myself. I didn't take the time to put my pajama on but just crawled under my blanket. I closed my eyes and instantly fell asleep.
