After Becca and Tippi's date, they headed back to Tippi's house to spend a little more time together. Tippi was growing more nervous as time went by because she was soon going to tell Becca how she felt. She really hoped that Becca felt the same way, but a part of her knew that there was a chance she would because of their past together. Tippi looked around and sighed. I guess now's the time. Becca heard Tippi's sigh and frowned.

“Are you okay?”
“Huh? Oh yes I'm perfectly fine. Just thinking.”
“About what?”

Tippi bit her lip. She needed to mentally prepare herself before telling Becca something as big as what she was about to. Becca looked at Tippi concerned for quite a few minutes before Tippi finally spoke up.

“Becca what I'm about to tell you isn't going to be easy for me and it may be hard for you to accept. I'm really hoping you don't run away from me when I do tell you.”
“Tip?”
“I love you, Becca.”
“Oh Tippi I already knew that,” Becca giggled.
“No, Becca. I'm in love with you. I want to be with you and I want to spend my life with you. I want us to be together like we were before Jimmy stole your heart. Jimmy told me a long time ago that if something were to ever happen to him, that he wanted me to take his place. He saw the way I look at you. He knew how I feel. He didn't know we had a thing before he came along. He wants me to be the person to make you happy again. He made me make a promise to him.”

Becca stared at Tippi and opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. Tippi felt herself getting nervous all over again, fearing that Becca wasn't going to feel the same way. After minutes without being able to speak, Becca finally spoke up.

“I-I don't know what to say...”
“It's okay. Take your time.”

Becca stared down at the floor unable to come up with words. She always told Jimmy she would never replace him with anyone. He always told her that it was silly of her to say something like that because he wanted her to live a happy life no matter what happened. Becca loved Jimmy with all of her heart and she just couldn't replace Jimmy. She loved Tippi a whole lot, but she was devoted to Jimmy. They secretly eloped behind everyone's back a couple months before he passed. No one ever found out. They eventually were going to tell the others, but then that night came and the news never came up. Becca kept it to herself for years. Becca looked up at Tippi, tears streaming down her light pink cheeks.

“I-I can't... It's hard to move on...”
“Becca I understand. If you need more time to process everything and to think about it, I'll gladly give you time.”
“We got married, Tippi... We secretly eloped four months before he died... We were going to tell everyone, but then he died and I never opened my mouth about it. Not until now.”

Tippi was absolutely shocked at Becca's response. She always thought Jimmy didn't believe in marriage. He always said he was never going to get married, so why did him and Becca elope? Was Becca lying or did Jimmy change his mind after being with Becca for many years? Tippi saw the pain in Becca's eyes after finally letting the secret out and frowned.

“I'm sorry things had to change for the worst, but I promise you I can make things better. I may not be like Jimmy, but I'll do my best to keep you as happy as he did.”
“I just don't know... I don't know if I can move on so quickly... I mean, I know it happened four years ago, but still... I still suffer to this day.”

Tippi nodded. She knew this wasn't going to end the way she wished it would. It hurt her badly, but she knew Becca needed time. She just didn't know how much time. Becca looked up at Tippi and wiped away her tears.

“I think I'm gonna go home... I need time to think.”
“You can have all the time you need. Do you want me to give you a ride home?”
“No. I think I'll just walk home. I'll call you if I get lost.”
“Alright. Talk soon?”
“Yes.”

Becca gave Tippi a tight hug before getting up and walking to and out the front door. She made her way down Tippi's walkway and started heading down the street. So much was on her mind she just didn't know what to do. She loved Tippi, she really did, but she just wasn't sure if she was ready to move on from Jimmy yet. The fact they had gotten married made it harder for her to move on. She just needed time to think about everything. Clear her mind and process everything slowly.

After Becca left, Tippi went to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of wine. She really needed it after that very stressful situation. As she went to put the bottle away, she decided to keep it out instead and brought it to the living room with her. She sat down on the couch and set the bottle down on the coffee table. All she needs is a little time. Give her the time she needs and hopefully everything will work out. Tippi sighed and gulped down her entire glass of wine before pouring herself another. She didn't drink wine very often, only on special occasions, but it was definitely needed at this point.
Tippi sat in silence thinking to herself when there was a sudden crashing sound coming from outside her house. It wasn't a super loud crash, but it was loud enough that she heard it. She jumped off the couch and ran towards her window to see what the commotion outside was. Once she looked out, her wine glass fell from her hands and smashed right onto the floor, wine spilling everywhere. At that point, she didn't care because the sight outside was the most devastating thing she could have ever seen.

“BECCA!” She screamed, instantly heading towards the front door. She ran out of the house and down to the road where a car was completely stopped in the middle and Becca lay in a pool of her own blood close behind it. Tippi quickly ran towards Becca as witnesses nearby started freaking out and dialing the police. Many police cruisers and an ambulance were there within minutes and officers started asking the witnesses what happened. Becca had been crossing the street when the car that hit her came hurling towards her at full speed. She was hit and the sound Tippi had heard was the sound of Becca's body cracking the car's windshield. It was completely smashed in. An officer talked to Tippi and she explained that Becca was her best friend and she had no family in California, and that she was a nurse, so they let her ride in the ambulance with her. The entire drive to the hospital, Tippi couldn't help but to feel helpless. If Becca had accepted Tippi's offer to drive her home, she wouldn't have been hit by the car and she would still be alright. Tippi really hoped Becca would be okay. She didn't care about getting an answer, all she wanted was for Becca to stay alive and be alright. That's all she cared about now.
