(Author's Note; Im not sure of Matt and Val's new baby's name (though I heard it was a baby boy), and as I want to include River and the baby in the story, I'm just going to name the baby AJ so you guys know who I'm talking about. If any of you guys know the baby's actual name, don't hesitate to just let me know ^~^)

*Amber's POV*

Danny walked me home on Friday afternoon, as it was our half-day. We got off at noon, but didn't make it home till after one o'clock because we went into the local KMart and bought candy and Arizona Tea and Monster (I got Arizona Tea, he got Monster), and we walked mega slow. Literally three kids on tricycles passed us by, and two old ladies. THAT'S how slow we were.

"I'll see you tomorrow then, yeah?" He asked while we were standing at the wall outside my front yard.

"Of course, I've been dying to go since..well, yesterday! Do you want me to meet you there or what?" I replied, chewing my lip slightly (it's an awful nervous tic). It was only now that I noticed that Matt's car was here and it had the baby seats in it, so he obviously brought the kids over. Matt and Val have two boys; River and AJ, and they're the cutest things ever!

"Nah don't worry, I'll pick you up. We can walk it, cuz the movie theatre's not that far, right?"

"Nope, it's about a ten minute walk for most people, but it'll take us a half hour."

"Then I guess we'll just leave earlier."

"Well you'd be guessing right."

"My mum's gonna be wondering where I've got to, so I'll see you tomorrow, redhead."

"I'll see you tomorrow, freckles." He waved and boarded home, while I fished around for my keys in my backpack.

I stumbled in the front door, flinging my backpack on the floor and putting my keys on the table, before going into the kitchen and sitting down at the kitchen table, putting my feet up on the empty one next to me.

"Where the hell'd you get to?" Dad asked, not as pissed off as I thought he'd be. "We were just short of sending out a search party! You got out of school over an hour ago, and you're only home. Did you get lost or something?"

"Danny and I walked home together, and we went into Kmart on the way home. We bought candy with our lunch money, but that's all. Otherwise, we're just really slow walkers." I said matter-of-factly, folding my arms.

"That's the kid we all met that time, right? Isn't he your boyfriend?" Oh here we go, Matt's going to start on me too. Why did I decide to come home?

"Yeah, that's Danny. He's not my boyfriend, I don't know where you got that idea from. We're just friends, that's it, Daddy Day Care." Excuse me, I'll fight back whenever I feel like it.

"‘Just friends’ who're going on a date tomorrow." Dad was now paying me back for being late. I'm never going to hear the end of this.

"‘Just friends’ huh? Alright Amber, if that's what you think." Matt's obviously getting revenge for when I beat his sorry ass at COD.

"Shut up, Daddy Day Care, we're just going to watch a sad movie. And you know what? Y'all are no fun, I'm going to watch Mickey Mouse with River." I stalked off into the living room before flopping onto the couch, while river sat on he floor with one of his stuffed animals, and he was really engrossed in the show. "Hey, River."

He waved slightly, not looking up from the tv. I decided not to bother him further, and ended up texting Danny on my phone.

Half an hour later, River fell asleep on the rug that he was sitting on, so I lifted him up onto the chair and threw a blanket over him, before lowering the volume on the tv and changing the channel.

When the volume was low enough, you could hear faint baby-cries from the kitchen, so I'm guessing that AJ was giving matt a hard time. I giggled to myself and put MTV on, and realised the Top40 was on, so I settled down to watch that.

I watched it from start to finish. And River slept through the whole thing. AJ had stopped crying, so I'm guessing he was asleep. I was starting to get a bit sleepy myself, so I knew I'd have to get up and get moving. I guess I could always do my homework.

I got my backpack from the hallway and dragged into the living room, regaining my spot on the couch. My math was easy enough to do, and so was history. Music I'd managed to get done in class, and the same goes for geography. I'd managed to escape with just English and art, so that wasn't half bad.

English was simple, and I only had to answer a few questions. Art, on the other hand, was more challenged. I had to sketch, outline and colour something, and I just didn't know what to do.

In the end, I paused the video for King For A Day by PTV on the performance section, and drew that scene. It took me over an hour to do, and Matt and the boys had gone by now, so it was just Dad and I staring at a paused tv screen for over an hour.

"That's really good, I like it a lot." Dad said, once I'd finished it. It took a total of two hours, but it was worth it.

"Thanks, it's alright I guess. Here, you can have the remote, I don't really want to watch anything now." I sighed, and put my picture into the thing that the teacher gave us.

"Not even AHS?"

"We'll, now that you mention it.." We spent the remainder of our Friday watching AHS that had backed up on TiVo. And ordered Chinese takeout too.

Later that Friday night, I really didn't feel good, I was literally vomiting my insides out (no lie, I swear). I must've spent an hour puking in the bathroom at one point, and Dad said it was best if I canceled my date with Danny, as if I picked up any serious illness, I could infect him too (you'd swear he thought I had the plague). There goes my exciting Saturday.
