(Love) Contract

Matt’s POV

I stood before Brian’s door and waited for him to open up. I didn’t have a plan yet, but we also didn’t have many choices...
After the call from that prick of ex boyfriend, we had to make a move and soon.
Either Brian or I we had to go there… better both.
“Hey man, you are the first.” Brian opened up and I could see his hair was still a little wet and I refused to think about what he must have been doing instead of thinking about a plan.
“Hey.” He motioned me inside and I walked straight to the living room and sat down on the couch.
Tara walked in and gave me a small smile, I felt like I had to clear something between us but now wasn’t the right moment for that.
The others would be here soon and I shouldn’t think about anything other than the task at hand.

The doorbell rang and the others arrived, all at once… but this time with an additional member.
I grinned when Jimmy walked in his arm around the waist of Tara’s sister, but this wouldn’t be too easy for him, she got a hold of his hand and shoved it away and looked at him with narrowed eyes.
Tara saw her sister and jumped up from the couch and ran towards her hugging her.
“Cara… what are you doing here?” I heard her whisper and had to smile.
Jimmy sat down next to me and also watched the girls.
“Jimmy said there was a problem concerning you and of course… I would come and try to help.” Cara held her sister on arms length and the girls smiled at each other.
“Did that guy hurt you in any way? I can sue him, you know I can. I can and will find all the dirty little secrets, if I want to…” Cara said and made Zacky and Johnny chuckle…
“You don’t have to dig that deep, believe me…” Zack replied also listening in on the girls and Cara threw him a serious look.
“She is so hot with that attitude, isn’t she?”Jimmy said beside me and was nearly drooling.
“Wipe the drool of your chin, we got more important things to talk about.” I told him and Jimmy snapped his mouth shut.

“Guys, listen… I got the call from the douche bag. He also wants to meet me.” I announced and finally the blabbering stopped and everybody concentrated back on the main topic.
Nearly everybody got a chair or sat down on the couch and looked at me.
“What did he say?” Brian asked and was the only one left standing.
“He talked some shit… asked if you informed us about the call. He made sure no matter if we would ‘come clean’ about the kiss with you or not, he will go to the press, this way or that way, and that he made sure he had back up when we meet as well as that the so called evidence is in a safe place.” I tried to sum everything up and soon everybody was talking at once.
“Wait, guys… listen.” I yelled and made everybody stop again.
“I will write him a message that I can meet him in 2 days… Brian you will do the same. We will see who he wants to meet first. Then we gotta figure out how to react. He will try to get his will no matter what, if he is talking to me or you, doesn’t really matter in that case.” I said and Zack was the next to speak up.
“I think it’s clear that we will make a group trip to freaking Portland, because we won’t let you drive there alone, you know that right?”
I nodded “Sure, I know.”
“But I have to work, I would love to come along… but-” Alessia said and I nodded.
I thought that much, but I didn’t want to take any risks.
“We have to split up. I don’t want any of the girls to be completely unprotected. We don’t really know what this guy is up to, maybe he really just wants to get us out and then has a thing with Tara that he wants? Who knows?” I looked around and I saw the men thinking, Zacky pulling Alessia closer.
“What do you think?” I asked and didn’t get a reply right away.
“I don’t feel good leaving Tara behind.” Brian was the first to speak “But I don’t want that guy near her either.”
“I can stay with the girls” Zack announced with a wide grin “We can make a nice pajama party at my house.” I rolled my eyes and it also earned him a dirty look from Brian.
“Idiot.” Johnny murmured. “Should have at least invited me to come over as well.”
“Well no… then it would only make HALF as much fun…” Zack laughed at his own joke and I saw Jimmy also not really able to hide his hysterical laughter.

“Can we come back to the main topic?” I asked after all the fun they were making.
“I won’t stay here.” Tara said and looked at Brian but he began to shake his head right away.
“No, I don’t want you anywhere near that guy.” Brian put his hand on Tara’s cheek and they looked at each other, I had to look away, my heart still giving me a little painful squeeze.
Tara shook her head “No, Brian… he is my problem I will be there, if you want me to or not.”
It sounded final, but I didn’t want her there as well.

“I think she has the right to be there, to listen what that douche has to say. She needs to make this final.” Cara spoke up and nodded at Tara in reassurance.
“No!” Brian looked at Cara.
“That’s not your decision.” Cara stood up and I felt Jimmy get up as well.
Oh this will get out of hand soon.
“I think Tara should come along, and I will as well.” Jimmy walked over to Tara and Brian, getting between them and shoving Brian a little out of the way.
“What?” Brian turned around and looked at Jimmy astonished.
“Johnny and Zack can stay here, would also not cause too much attention. And we will leave together, maybe as two or three people so the guy won’t know that either you or Matt didn’t come alone? How about Matt, me and Jason will leave together, because I know Jason is also in on this plan, right?” I nodded at Jimmy and liked his plan.
“Or maybe if you feel safer, Jimmy and I will go together and you, Tara and Jason?” I suggested and Brian looked not too convinced but nodded finally.
“You won’t give up, anyway… huh?” Brian looked at Tara and I haven’t seen that loving and concerned expression on his face in a long time.
He really had feelings for her, and they were already pretty deep if he knew that or not… I didn’t know.
“Alright, I guess we don’t really have a plan other then see what is happening when we are there right? Let me send him a message and you will write him an hour or two later?” I asked and Brian nodded, hugging Tara close and burring his face in her hair.
I looked away again, damn…
“Yes, do that.” I heard his muffled voice.
“Good.” I pulled my phone out and typed a short message.

Meeting the day after tomorrow.
Tell me where exactly and when?
Matt

I pushed the send button and waited for his reply but I guess he would be waiting for Brian’s message, too.
I had a feeling that he would want to meet with me and not Brian, but my feeling could also be wrong…

“I need some alcohol now… Brian?” Jimmy announced and Brian nodded.
“You know the way… get yourself and the others what they need.” Brian said and I saw him grab Tara’s hand and walk out of the room, while Johnny and Jimmy walked into the kitchen to grab us some drinks.

I followed out of the room to hear what Brian and Tara were talking about, it was a thing between the three of us first so I had to know what they were thinking.
“Babe, I would really feel better if you would stay here.” Brian tried again and I smiled.
“I need to come with you, really Brian. I just feel like I have to, please understand.” She looked up to him and he nodded finally.
“Okay, but I never want you to be alone, we don’t know what that guy really wants. I need you to listen to me or Jason… whoever is around you, okay.” Brian tried again and I took a step back.
“Okay, don’t worry. I can take care of myself.” She leaned against him and he put his arms around her and I left, that was enough.
