Life's a Game, but it's Not Fair

Seven

Brian sat at his desk, head in his hands. He couldn’t believe how stupid he had been. What father would do to his daughter what he had done? Abernathy had so many sexual assault charges and still he had thought it would be fine. Thank God for Jimmy and Shadows.

A soft knock on the door brought him back to the present. The door opened slowly and Kappie’s blond hair was seen on the other side. He smiled up at her as she walked in, a tray in her hands.

“You didn’t eat all day Master Gates,” She said softly placing a sandwich in front of him.

He was touched by the younger woman’s action. Kappie had a good heart, and he was happy she had worked for them.

“Thank you Kappie,” he said gratefully “have a seat, please.”

Kappie smiled and sank into one of the large leather chairs in front of her employer’s desk as he devoured the sandwich she had made. She remembered coming to work for him when she was 22 and fresh out of college. She had been terrified of the group she was going to work for, yet Master Gates had been kind and soon she became friends with him and the rest of the group.

“How are you feeling?” she asked softly as he finished. She saw the shame written across his face.

“I shouldn’t have let her go.” He said throwing the napkin on the plate.

“No one could have known,” she assured him; she leaned forward and touched his arm gently. “Don’t blame yourself, Reagan doesn’t.”

Brian sighed, “It’s all this parenting.”

Kappie laughed, “Hey, I’m an unofficial parent.” She teased. With that, she picked up the tray and went to leave.

“Kappie,” she turned, “You’re coming to the banquet tomorrow with our allies.” Brian told her.

Her eyes widened. “Master Gates, I can’t be in the same room as their women I don’t have the right clothes, I can go to my sister’s-“

Brian held up his hand, “Reagan will take you shopping, I’m sure she will want something new as well. Please Kappie, you’ll be my guest.”
Kappie smiled and nodded. “Hopefully Reagan won’t convince me to wear some crazy looking thing.” Brian laughed and promised she wouldn’t. Kappie bid him goodnight and headed out of the large room.

The next afternoon, Reagan bounded down the grand staircase, ready to go.

“Who’s taking me and Kappie shopping?’ She bellowed as she entered the man cave.

Her enthusiasm was met with the sound of gunfire. Black Ops gun fire that is. Reagan rolled her eyes and cleared her throat loudly. No response. Sighing she walked to the wall and flicked the large white switch.

The guys all shouted in surprise when all the lights came on. “You asked for it you babies,” she retorted “now, who is taking Kappie and I shopping.”

The guys looked at each other “Nose goes!” Jimmy shrieked.

Simultaneously, their pointer fingers shot to their noses. Zacky groaned when he realized he was the loser and stood up to grab his keys.

“Reagan promise me you’ll be honest with how I look,” Kappie begged as they walked into their third store. “I can’t even think of going to this dinner where all the women are going to be dripping diamonds and labels and I’m the maid.” Reagan turned to the woman who was both a sister and a mother to her.

“Kappie stop it.” She said seriously, “you’re part of our family, you’re not a servant. Plus you’re absolutely breathtaking. We’re going to find the most perfect dress for you. You’ll look bang able!” Kappie rolled her eyes “maybe a little bit under bang able.” “Fine. Kissable.” Reagan teased as she disappeared behind the racks of dresses.

Kappie sighed as she stared at herself in another hideous dress. How was it that Reagan found her dress in the first store and she still hadn’t? She wondered if she could dress up one of her bridesmaid’s dresses enough.

Suddenly, the door to her dressing room flew open. Reagan sprinted in “Hey I found-oh!” She looked at the dress Kappie was currently wearing, then shook her head vigorously. “Nonono. I found it.” She held out the dress, “try it on.” With that, she left.

Staring at herself in the mirror, Kappie hardly recognized the person who stared back at her. Reagan was right, this was the dress. Smiling, she opened the door of the dressing room.

After shopping, lunch and a nail appointment the girls sauntered into the mansion, garment bags in tow.

“Praise Jesus I’m home,” Zacky yelled, sprinting for the man cave.

“We’re leaving at 7,” Brian’s voice yelled from inside.

“That’s not enough time.” Reagan shrieked, heading for the stairs.

Kappie laughed at the teen as she headed to her own room to get ready.

Reagan finished the final touches on her sock bun and smiled in the mirror. In her new dress she felt like Kate Middleton. Of course, self confidence was not the only reason she wanted to look her best. Sure, she always had to look put together in front of the gang’s allies, but it still boiled down the one thing. Matt.

She knew it was wrong, but she just couldn’t help it. She couldn’t get him out of her mind. She knew he would have killed Abernathy had her father not been close by. Her lips still burned at the thought of kissing him. And she wondered if he still thought about that too. She heard her father call her name. Turning, she grabbed her clutch on her bed and stepped out the door.

For the second time, Matt felt his eyeballs almost pop out of his eyes as he watched Reagan descend the massive staircase. His dick twitched to life as he took in every detail of her in her dress.

“Very mature.” Brian said approvingly as she stepped onto the tile.

“Kappie, hurry up!” Jimmy yelled. “I’m hungry.”

“I’m coming, I’m coming!” Everyone turned and stared.

Kappie looked breathtaking. Her golden hair was in a braided updo and the dress looked perfect with her skin tone. Brian felt his dress pants constrict when he realized this was the first time he had seen Kappie dressed like this, and he certainly didn’t want it to be the last.

Inwardly, Reagan laughed at the guys’ expressions as Kappie walked out to join them. Suddenly, she groaned. “I left my phone in my room. I’ll be right back.” She dashed for the stairs.

Jimmy groaned as his niece ran up the steps. “This will take forever.”

Brian laughed. “Come on Jim. You Kappie and I will go ahead. I should get there soon.” The three headed to Brian’s Porsche as the others headed to the Escalade to wait for Reagan.

Pulling her phone from its charger, Reagan quickly dashed for the stairs. Suddenly, A hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her back into a side hallway.
Panic gripped her as she was pulled back. As she was pushed against the wall, her heart skipped almost twelve beats when she looked into Matt’s hazel eyes.

They looked at each other for only a few seconds, which felt like hours. Then his lips met hers. Hard.

“You look so fucking breathtaking.” He murmured huskily into her ear. She groaned and shoved her hips against him. “I can’t fight it anymore.” She whispered. “I can’t either.” He kissed her again. She felt his erection press against her thigh and she palmed him through his dress pants. He moaned and attacked her neck.

“Matt, we have to go.” She sighed and pushed him off. Sighing, Matt backed up. She giggled, “you might want to wash my lipstick off. I need to reapply.” Matt smirked, “come to my room tonight?” Smiling, she nodded. He winked and headed to the bathroom.

“Holy shit dude, did you need to redo your makeup too?” Zacky exclaimed as Matt climbed into the Escalade next to Reagan.

“Nature called man!” Matt protested, winking discreetly at the girl next to him.

“Let’s do this dinner thing.” Reagan cried as the SUV headed out the driveway.

Matt caressed her thigh softly, his hand hidden by his dress coat. She smiled at him, the butterflies in her stomach flying at an all time high.
