The Rev's Undying Sin

I Just Met Who?

The sun was just setting as I walked up the driveway of my house. James and Niecy were walking by my side and we were excited. We are going to see Avenged Sevenfold tonight at eight. I walked into the house and saw my mom sitting on the couch watching TV.

“Hey mom,” I called and she turned around.

“Hi,” she said in a monotone voice.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Researching." She said.

"Whom might I ask is that?" I asked.

"No one you know. Go away and be with your friends," she shooed me and I laughed as I walked up the stairs. My room was the second largest of the house and all along the walls were posters of Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Five Finger Death Punch, etc. I had built in shelves that stored my books and CDs, my bed was under the window that was on the south wall. What I loved most about my room is that three of the walls were white, and one was black, the one my bed rested against.

I fell back onto my bed and stared at the ceiling.

"Do you guys think we’ll meet the band?" Niecy asked.

"We may not have backstage passes, but I can sweet talk the security to let us back," I said in a suspicious voice.

"So your mom said yes?" James asked.

"Well, about that. My mom doesn’t even know I have the tickets, so. And besides, I’d rather not tell her about our possibility of being arrested for breaking into the back," I smiled.

"Nice,” Niecy commented and turned to my CDs. It is right around five in the evening and the concert is in three hours. James was messing around on my computer and Niecy put the CD in my radio and pressed play. Avenged Sevenfold came through the speakers and I jumped up out of my bed.

Shh... quiet, you might piss somebody off
Like me, motherfucker, you've been at it for too long
While you feed off others' insecurities
You stand in front of me and bite the hand that feeds

Self-righteousness is wearing thin
(Lies inside your head, your best friend)
Heart bleeds but not for fellow men
(Broken glass, your fake reflection)

I've had enough
It's time for something real
I don't respect the words you're speaking
Gone too far
A clone!
” We sang and danced together. I started to head bang and my door slammed open.

“Turn this shit off Grace!” I heard my mom yell and then the music was paused.

“Why mom, it’s so good!” I exclaimed and she looked at me.

“I am trying to do something important! Turn that shit on again and you are grounded!” She yelled again and slammed my door.

“Why is she always yelling?” James asked. I shrugged and looked at Niecy. She turned the music back on, but turned it down first.

"Well let's go get ourselves ready for the best damn night of our lives," Niecy said. I nodded and went straight to my closet. My first ever band shirt was ripped and bleached but I loved it and I was going to wear it. I pulled it on over a sports bra and then changed my jeans.

"Grace I'm going to my mom's, stay home tonight," my mom called from the hallway.

"Whatever, have fun!" I said and turned to Niecy.

“Do my make up,” I said and handed her my eye shadow. She got to work and I heard the door downstairs close.

“At least she’ll be gone when we leave,” James commented. I rolled my eyes and Niecy smacked my shoulder.

“Stop moving your eyes,” she laughed and I rolled my eyes again, which got me another smack on the shoulder. She finished a few minutes later and I smiled.

“Let’s go,” I said and we all filed out of my bedroom and down the stairs to the outside. James’ car was sitting out front and I sprinted to the passenger side.

“Shot gun!” I yelled and slid inside. Niecy gave me a look and climbed in back.

“I think that the youngest should sit in the back,” she commented and James chuckled.

“In my car, it’s whoever gets there first,” he started the car and we got going.

"God I can't wait till our plan goes into action." I said.

"And what ‘plan’ is this?” James asked.

“Well, what we are going to do is, walk inside by the merch table, there should be people there. Then we ask where the bathroom is because we’ve been in the car for six hours and blah blah blah. They should be nice enough to tell us where it is. Once we get that information, we start walking in the way they said, but once out of view, we take off down the hallway to the dressing rooms and, hopefully, we meet the band before the show,” I puffed my chest because I thought the idea was foolproof.

"Grace this isn't a good idea." Niecy said.

“Why not?” I asked.

“Because, what if they say we can’t go back there? Or if we get caught?” She asked.

"Well do you want to meet our idols?" I asked.

"Well, yes, of course but-"

"Then shut the fuck up." I said. James parked the car and we all got out. It was nearing seven now and there was a line of people. We walked inside the lobby andI looked to the right and saw the merch table. Bingo.

I shook myself to get rid of my nervousness and faked having to pee. We walked over and I smiled at the two ladies at the table.

"Excuse me, is there a bathroom here?" I asked sweetly.

"Um yeah down the hall to the left. If the guards ask about anything say you just need the bathroom," one of them said. I smiled and we started off in the direction they said.

"Lacey what if she's a killer, our men are back there," I heard the other one say from behind us.

"Oh yeah,” the first one paused and shrugged, “well Val she just needs to pee," Lacey said. The lady named Val sighed and crossed her arms. I was almost out of sight. Once I was I took a right and sprinted down the hall, the other two following me.

"Grace!" I heard from behind me as ran right into a someone. I fell back and landed on my butt.

“Ow,” I mumbled and held my head for a second.

"Oh my God are you alright?" I heard and looked up to see who I wanted to see asked that.

"Is that a trick question?" I muttered as the person helped me up.

"What?" He asked.

"Yeah I’m fine," I smiled and then finally saw who the person actually was. It was Matt Sanders, lead singer of Avenged Sevenfold. I felt my inner fangirl begin to squeal.

"Um." I heard from behind me. I turned around and saw Niecy and James standing there like deer in a headlight.

"Niecy, James, you guys ok?” I asked and Niecy pointed.

"Grace th-th-tha-that-that's Av-" she couldn’t even get the word out.

"Avenged Sevenfold, gosh spit it out!" I exclaimed while my inner fangirl was getting more and more excited. I was actually scared to turned around.

"Has she had anything to drink?" I heard.

"Nope this all natural," I smiled.

"Sounds like someone we know." Brian laughed and my idol himself walked out.

"I hear a hyper ass kid." He said. I pursed my lips, I am not a kid.

"Yep, her." Brian said and pointed. Jimmy looked at me and got a confused look.

"She looks familiar." He said and stood there for a second trying to think of who I look like.

"I do?" I asked confused.

"Yeah, she looks like,” he paused and got a sudden realization to his face, “oh shit."

"What?" Matt asked..

"That's Marcey's daughter." He said.

"How do you know my mother?" I asked, she honestly can’t be that cool.

"What?" He asked. It was as if he was surprised to hear me again.

"How do you know Marcey Anne Powlinski?" I asked.

"Annie?" They all asked. I rose an eye brow and Niecy poked my shoulder.

"What?" I asked turning around.

"How do they know your mom?" She asked.

"Don't ask me. Ask them," I said in a 'duh' tone.

"I can't," she said nervously.

"Oh you know decide to be quiet?" I asked looking at her.

"Well I'm sorry that my favorite band is standing behind you, and you can go on talking like you've known them forever. I'm so sorry that I am not a brave as you," she said and walked away.

"You're not so riding in my car with me ever again!" I yelled after her. She flashed the bird at me and I rolled my eyes and turned around.

"Oh yeah she's defiantly her daughter," I heard Jimmy mutter to himself.

"OK, so, how do you know my mother?" I asked.

"She used to be Jimmy's lady," Brian patted Jimmy on the shoulder.

"Ha, my mom, dated him? Oh wow you five are hilarious." I said laughing.

"You know what, we gotta go on, you two stay back here and we'll talk after the show," Matt said. I nodded and went to find a chair. Once I found one, I plopped down and watched the show.

After the show

The band was still playing and I yawned. I was sitting on the chair with my back bent over the back staring at the ceiling. My phone began vibrating in my pocket and I jumped up and gasped. I quickly grabbed it and saw my mother was calling. Oh snap.

"Where the hell are you Grace?" She asked.

"At James'." I said.

"Grace Lynn Sullivan god dammit, I told you to stay home for a god damn reason." She said and I saw the band walk back.

“You actually never told me to stay home,” I said and heard her go quiet.

“Grace, get home now,” she said and I looked at the band.

"Mom I gotta go," I said.

"No you will come home now," she ordered.

"But mom I'm having fun," I whined. Matt laughed and my mom gasped.

"You are not at James'. Where the fuck are you?" She screamed into the phone and I had to pull it away.

"Mom calm the down, I'm not drinking or doing drugs," I said and Jimmy looked at me. I smiled.

"Grace just come home" she said.

"Are you sure you want me to come home? I’ll be an annoying brat because I didn’t get to do something I wanted to do," I said and leaned against the wall.

“I will deal with that when you get home,” she was being nice. I swear, the woman is bipolar.

"Give me the phone," Jimmy said.

"Is that. . .Grace Lynn Sullivan you better not be at that fucking Avenged Sevenfold concert," she got loud again.

"I'm not," I lied.

"You are lying, when you get home you are in deep shit," she said.

"OK fine so what if I am what's your problem with the band anyway?" I asked. Jimmy held his hand out and did the wavy hand thing. I handed him my phone and watched. He began talking and trying to calm my mom down. I still don’t understand how the two could possibly have dated.

"Good luck calming her down," I said and turned to the side. My jaw dropped and I swear I started crying. Right there, just a few feet away was the most beautiful thing in the world; his drum set. I think I almost fainted because James had to keep me standing.

"Are you OK?" He asked.

"Look at it, it's so beautiful," I said and held my hand to my mouth.

"Are you crying?" He asked as he started to laugh.

"OK you know what bitch,” I smacked him in the arm, “it's not everyday you get to see your idol and his drum set." I saw Jimmy standing above me, holding my phone.

"So is she still pissed?" I asked.

"Just a little bit. And um, fair warning, when you go home, she may not be there." He said. I shrugged and looked up.

“She has a knack for disappearing,” I shrugged again and turned to the drum set.

"You know, you have a very beautiful drum set?" I asked.

"Yes I do, you play?" He asked.

"Little bit," I said.

"Grace, you can play guitar hero on drums, on expert, and you own a drum set," James said.

"I didn't want to brag gosh," I held my hands up.

"Play something. " He said handing me his drum sticks. I walked over and sat down on the stool. What to play? Ah my song Fly Away. I began playing and hitting the foot pedals. Once I was finished, I looked up. The whole band was standing there mouths a gape. James was smiling.

"She can play," Matt said.

"And I can play guitar and bass. Oh and I can sing," I smiled.

"Wow, where did you learn this stuff?" Brian asked, sitting next to me.

"I taught myself," I said.

"Hmm, tell us your life story," Matt said and they all found a spot. I gave Jimmy back the sticks and took a breath.

"OK first things first. My full name is Grace Lynn Sullivan. I don’t know why my last name is that but whatever," I started, "well my mom had me when she was, I think 15. She was young, she was an okay mom until my cousin Andy played some rock band and I got hooked. She turned into bitch and has said since that day that my dad hated me so much he killed himself. And well she can’t look at me without yelling. I hate my mother with a fire burning passion," I said.

"You can't hate your mother," Matt said.

"Once you meet her mom you will understand," James said.

"You know what? We're here for a few days, why don't we come meet your insane mother tomorrow?" Matt suggested.

"Um I'll have to get back to you on that,” I said.

Notes

Ok, so this is a rewrite of my original story on Mibba. As I was rereading it, I was flabbergasted at how bad my writing was like two years ago! But anyways, hope you all like it. It's not really a love story, it's a father/daughter story. And yes, The Rev is in it. Stay tuned for more!

I think the judge should give Jimmy the custody since he is the father it would be different if both parents died thn Jess should have custody but since one is still alive Jimmy has the right, can't wait to read more update as soon as u can :)

I think Jimmy should have custody of his daughter... not Jess. I understand that Grace's aunt is protective, but she should at least let her live with her father. Not to try and take the custody away from him.

Who knows? Grace might like the lifestyle her father lives....

Love it. :)

I think it's awesome that her aunt is letting her stay with her and her husband while she gets to know her father better. Which I think is an awesome kinda arrangement.

Think it would be awesome if she started to move in with Jimmy sometime down the line after she got to know him better.

Love it. :)

I feel so bad for Grace having to see her mom like that. No child, no matter their age, should have to see their mom like that. At all.

I do love how Grace's aunt is protective over her. I do hope Jimmy and Jess do come to an arrangement where Grace can come and stay with him. Like maybe she can stay with him for the summer (or go on tour with the guys)..

And, if she likes staying with her dad--then maybe Jess will let Grace stay with Jimmy sometime down the line. Maybe like a few months or so down the line... depending on if Jess thinks/or sees how happy Grace is being with him.

Love it. :)
