Roadtrip

Mia’s POV
I woke up in Jimmy’s arms, and I looked at him, he was sleeping so peacefully. I pulled my head up and looked around, for a minute I didn’t know where we were. Then I remembered and a smile crept over my face at the memory of the past night.

After we finally agreed on who was sleeping with who we went to our rooms. Matt and Zack would take the sofa bed, so me and Jimmy could sleep in the bed. After we were all settled in and I cuddled up to Jimmy, Zack had started the remarks “Are you sure you want Jimmy in your bed? Or are you ready for something new and improved?”
Jimmy stiffened behind me and I heard him groan “If you don’t fucking stop those remarks, so help me God, I will completely kick your ass”.
Zack chuckled “Why Jimmy? Afraid she might actually say yes?” Jimmy let go of me, got up and pulled Zack of the sofa bed “Say that again to my face, Vengeance!”
Matt was already pulling Jimmy off Zack “Cut it out! Both of you! I want to sleep”
I had pulled on pants and a sweater in the meantime and grabbed Jimmy’s hand
“Come on sweetie, let’s go outside for a while.”

Jimmy and I walked outside, he was ranting like a crazy person “How can he still be hitting on you when I told him we were dating?! Some kind of friend he is!”
“Jimmy, calm down, he can hit on me as much as he likes, I don’t want him, I want you”
We were standing outside on the parking lot and Jimmy finally stopped. He stood in front of me and wrapped his long arms around me.
“I know you want me, I trust you, I’m just sick of it. It was fun at the beginning, but why is he still doing it now? I just...”
I cut off his sentence by kissing him, I felt him relax in my arms as he gave in to my kiss.
“Let’s walk for a bit? It’s nice out” I grabbed his hand and started walking off the parking lot.
Our arms were both stretched when he finally decided to join me “Alright, sure, but if we come back, and he makes one more remark, I will kick his ass”
“Fine by me” I replied as I put my arm around him, and moved my hand in his back pocket.

“Goodmorning hottie” Jimmy’s blues were staring at me. I had turned to my side and was studying his face when he finally woke up. He moved closer to kiss me. “That was an amazing night. Thank you.” He kissed me very softly. “I told you we weren’t only about sex” He winked.

After we had left the motel, we were walking into the woods. I didn’t feel comfortable there, we didn’t know where we were, it was already dark out and we had no light with us.
“Jimmy, maybe we should go back”
“Ah come on hottie, just a little further”
As if he had known, we walked into an open spot in the woods. It was covered in grass and moss and had a clear view at the sky.
“Let’s stay here for a bit” Jimmy sat down and pulled me down next to him.
He lay down, face to the sky and I lay next to him, my head on his chest. We were both staring at the night sky for a while when Jimmy spoke up.
“Why are you so restrained to let me know anything real about you? Is this just a fling to you? I mean.. I know I’m a bit fast with my feelings, but I feel a real connection between us and I would like to believe this doesn’t have to end after this trip”
My heart stopped for a beat or two. He was so different from every guy I dated before, he was so honest, no double agenda, just him and his honesty. It felt wrong to lie or be evasive about this again. I wanted to tell him, but I just didn’t know how he would react.
“Mia?” I put my chin on his chest and looked at him, his eyes were encouraging me to share.

“I... I want to tell you, but I’m scared”
“Why, is this just a fling to you? I want to know, Mia, I need to know if I’m going to lose you after this thing is over”
“No! It’s not that! I feel the same... It’s just really scary” I blushed and tried to get out of his stare, but Jimmy wouldn’t let me
“Start talking Mia, I won’t judge”
“Izzie and I are not on a holiday. We are on the run”
Jimmy let me put my head on his chest again and was stroking my hair as we both laid there quietly. I could tell he was doing his best to make a safe environment for me to tell my story, but he must be freaking out too.

“Why?”
My heart was pounding in my throat. I wanted to tell him, but I didn’t know where to start. I took a deep breath and started talking
“The day we left, I received a note, it said “I know where you are, and one day, I will come and take what’s mine. Just wait and see”, I... I thought I got rid of him... I thought he had finally left me alone, but apparently he is still following me.” My voice was barely noticeable anymore, that was how soft I spoke.
“Who is still following you?” Jimmy sounded calm, but I heard his heart speed up.
“My ex. My stalking ex. We were together for 2 years and then he started acting weird, I broke it off after 3 months of barely seeing him, barely knowing what was going on between us, barely having a relationship at all. I moved out and moved in with Izzie, and I never heard of him again... at least... for the next 6 months”
I was almost choking at the lump I had in my throat, but I needed to continue, tell him the main lines of this story.
“After 6 months I started receiving notes, he send me gifts and when I didn’t react to any of them, he started showing up at our house, at my job, when I was grocery shopping, everywhere.”
“Did you go to the police?” Jimmy was full on panicking now
“The police wouldn’t do anything... It wasn’t an immediate threat and I needed to come back when he would hurt me”
I was shivering now, telling this story hurt. Jimmy noticed me being uncomfortable and hugged me closer to his body.

“You don’t have to talk anymore if you don’t want to. I understand better now”
“No, I will finish this.” Jimmy kissed the top of my head
“After a year or so, he was gone, he didn’t show up anymore, I didn’t receive any notes or gifts. I thought he was gone. I didn’t know what happened, but frankly I didn’t really care. I was just relieved he was gone.”
“Until the note” Jimmy spoke softly
“Until the note” I confirmed.
Jimmy sighed “I will protect you Mia, I promise”
I looked at him and blushed
“He knows about you... He saw us together at the zoo and he send me a text message. That is why I didn’t reply to you anymore before we ran into each other in Reno. I don’t want you to get hurt, and I know he can do some dangerous stuff. I don’t want you to get involved in this.”
“I’m already involved Mia, I like you, a lot, I’m not backing away for some kind of psycho. Let him come, I can handle him, I’m not alone.”

He had rolled me on my back and we kissed. For hours, we just made out and I never felt more secure in my life. He was so good at making me feel safe. We made out and watched the stars, until we had fallen asleep.

“I slept really well, how about you?” Jimmy looked at me questioning. “Pretty good actually, never expected that, seeing it was just a hard floor here”
He chuckled and started to get up, helping me get on my feet too.
“I don’t really know what time it is, but I think we should head back” he said in between kisses.
I nodded, I kinda felt sorry we had to leave this magical place.
“Jimmy, could you please don’t tell anyone about what I told you last night? I don’t want to put everyone in danger, okay?”

He nodded as he pulled me close again.
“Mia?”
I looked up at him “Yes?”
“I know I probably shouldn’t say this... But... I might love you”
I put my arms around his neck and tiptoed to kiss him
“I’ll let you in on a secret” I motioned him to come down with his face.
“I might love you too” I whispered in his ear.

Izzie’s POV
The sound of a shower woke me up, but I couldn’t turn around, I had a Brian all over me.
“Brian.... “ I wiggled a little under him “Brian.... wake up”
He groaned, not moving off me, but moving even more over me, his body was covering most of mine now.
“Brian, wake up! I can’t breathe!”
His eyes shot open and he moved off me, immediately pulling me against him as soon as he touched the bed again.
“Goodmorning baby” he kissed me, immediately wanting to deepen the kiss.
I let him, he was bad for me, I started to depend on his touch, on his kiss, so I was longing for his fingers and lips on me again.

“OH COME ON!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? CUT IT OUT! IT WAS BAD ENOUGH I HAD TO LISTEN TO YOU LAST NIGHT”
Johnny came out of the bathroom, towel around his waist.
I pushed Brian of me and got out of bed “Sorry Johnny” I kissed his cheek and went into the bathroom. I let the shower run and heard the door open again. Brian peeped his head around the shower curtain “Can I join you?” He had his ‘you-couldn’t-resist-if-you-want-to smirk” on his face.
“Sure”
“Johnny is out of the room” He said as he kissed my neck
“Yes, but Matt will be here in 10 minutes, so let’s not start something we can’t finish”
“I can do a lot in 10 minutes” His hands roamed my body
“I’m sure you can, but you will have to wait until later” I smiled at him, laughing at his pouting face.
“You can have me tonight”
“Hell yes, I can. We will have our own room, I will show you some tricks”
“I’m looking forward to it mister. Now wash my back”

After a quick and quite frustrating shower we waited for the others outside of the motel. Soon Matt and Zack joined us, but now sign of Jimmy and Mia.
“Where is Mia?” I asked Matt.
“Zack and Jimmy had a fight yesterday, Mia took Jimmy outside for a bit, but they never came back. I figured they slept in the car, but they aren’t there”
My heart got scared, what if something happened to them? She was all I got. “What the hell did you do?” I stormed over to Zack.
“Nothing! I was just fooling around, it’s not my fault Jimmy got mad”
“It IS your fault” Matt said “You know how he is about her, he even told you they were dating and you still can’t keep your big mouth shut”
“If something happened to them, I’m going to fucking kill you!” I was scared for Mia, which made me angry, which made me want to fight.
I was already jolting forward to Zack when I felt Brian’s arms around my waist.
“Iz, calm down, nothing happened”
“You don’t know that! Why aren’t they here then?” I tried to wiggle out of Brian’s grip when he softly turned around with me in his arms
“ I do know, look”

At the other end of the parking lot Jimmy and Mia came walking over, arms around each other, radiant from happiness. What the hell happened the past night?!

“Babe!” I screamed running over to them “Where did you go?!”
Jimmy still held on to Mia, and I could see the twinkle in her eyes.
“We watched the stars and slept outside”
“Jimmy, could you please leave us for a second? I need to talk to Mia”
He put his finger under Mia’s chin and kissed her softly “Don’t be long”
Mia softly shook her head and looked at him all dreamy as he walked away.

“Earth to Mia” I snapped my fingers in front of her face “What the fuck happened?”
“He told me he might love me”
My mouth fell open “Seriously? You guys aren’t wasting any time, are you?”
“No” she blushed “But it feels so good Iz, I never felt this way. He makes me feel safe”
I looked at her, she did seem changed, but she was looking at the ground now
“I told him about Josh”
“WHAT?!” I yelled
“I told him about Josh, I felt I needed to. He was so nice about it. Maybe everything will work out after all”
I studied her face, she didn’t look anything like the girl I rushed out of town with.
“Damn Mia, you look so happy it makes me want to puke” I winked at her
“Shut up!”
“I like you being happy. You deserve it”
“Thanks honey, I am, I really am. Now let’s go to Denver!”
