Izzie’s POV
As I watched Brian and Jimmy walk out of the door I felt a little lost. I knew it would be for only one night, but I shouldn’t have made it a two-nighter. I felt perfectly fine yesterday, when I sneaked out of Brian’s room with my sex hair. I pulled the beanie even tighter to my head, I smiled. Brian had given me the beanie this morning “Even though you don’t have sex hair this morning, you look better in it anyways. And that means a lot coming from me” He had laughed at his own joke, he was a cocky ass like that, but damn, he could be a cocky ass with me every time.

I didn’t have sex hair, because we didn’t have sex last night. He never even tried after we came back to the room. We talked for a while, he told me about his band, his friends, the charity race and his biggest passion, music. He held me in his arms and I felt so relaxed and comfortable. My eyes started to fall shut when I felt a kiss on my shoulder “Can I tell my boys tomorrow that we had sex? I mean… I have a reputation to keep up.” He had breathed against my skin. I heard him chuckle, but I couldn’t even bring myself to answer him, I was one foot into my dreams.

“Izzie, are you alright?” I felt Mia next to me, putting her arm around me. I looked at her and saw a single tear go down her cheek
“I’m fine” I smiled at her “You look like you aren’t”.
She shrugged. “This is too damn fucked up Izzie, I know I shouldn’t, but I like him. He told me he likes me too, if things were different......” I pulled her to my body
“I know babe, I know. It will all be alright, we will go on and so will they. Maybe it gets easier when you don’t see him anymore for a while. Just treasure these nights and keep the memories. And you have his number right? You can always keep in touch” We started to walk out of the lobby.

“HEY! You girls are crashing my hotel or what?!” We heard an amused voice behind us. We both turned around. “Hi Nick, yeah we kinda are, but we are leaving now” I smiled.
“Those were some fine men, weren’t they?” We both walked over to the desk, laughing “Yeah, they sure are, you definitely got an eye for it huh” I winked at him. “Yeah, I specifically liked the one with university shirts... He had a fine ass!” Mia and I both laughed
“If we ever meet them again, we will be sure to tell him”
“So, the ones you landed weren’t bad either... That tall one was crazy, wasn’t he?”
Mia nodded smiling.
“And that one who couldn’t keep his hands of you” He looked at me “That one sure was the ladies man”
“Nick, could you please stop stating the obvious?” I chuckled.

Yeah sure, Brian was the ladies man, but I never had a night like the one I had with him. In contrary to Izzie and Jimmy we didn’t exchange any numbers, I didn’t ask for his and he never asked me about mine. It was fine the way it was. Maybe, if I was very lucky I would meet him again one day.

“Where are you heading?” Nick asked.
“We’re not sure yet, but we don’t want to drive that long and we need to get a job soon, because we will run out of money at one point, we better start making some now”
“If you are willing to go to Sacramento, I have an old flame there with a catering company, he might be able to hook you up. Should I give him a call for you?”
“Wow Nick! You are becoming the greatest hero of my life right now”
“I’m pleased to do this for you beautiful girls. Give me a minute”

We waited at the front desk while Nick called his past flirt. When he came back he had a big smile on his face.
“If you want to, you can start tonight, he has a dinner party he has to cater and he needs beautiful girls like you to waiter. He can even offer you a room in one of the apartments above his store.”
I squealed “Damnit Nick, I love you!” I repeated my action from the first day we came here and bend over the desk to kiss his cheek.
“Just tell Tim I looked fabulous and am totally not hung up on him anymore, but if he asks I would be open to see him again, you better push him in the right direction”
That guy was terrific, Mia and I laughed and both kissed his cheek again. “Bye Nick”
“Bye girls, until we meet again! Have a safe journey!”

I drove us to Sacramento. Mia was quiet and absent, holding on to her phone, typing a message, erasing it again.
“Izzie, please distract me”
“What do I need to talk about, what do you want to hear?”
“What is the truth about your last night with Brian?”
I smiled and started to tell her about me running out on him, him coming to get me back, our sexless night
“You know I woke up after 2 hours of sleep or something, and he was holding me so close I could feel every muscle in his body. I just wanted to wake him up and go for it, but it was nice to sleep like that again. I missed the closeness”

She nodded “Was it okay for you that he left?”
“Yes, I think we maybe shouldn’t have done that second night, but it happened, I knew what I got into, and I had fun”
I looked over to her
“Are you okay? Why don’t you just send him a message? A text can’t hurt.”
“I know... I just... not now, okay? Maybe later?”
“Alright babe, just don’t feel bad okay? San Francisco should have been about fun only, not about you feeling even worse”

Jimmy’s POV
It’s been such a long drive to Portland and even if I slept most of the time I felt exhausted and was happy to just fall into my bed.
“Come, on Jimmy. Get your bags and we need the phone, to scan the new checkpoint.”
“Hmm..” I climbed out of the side door and grabbed my bag from the trunk.
I pulled the stupid tracking phone from my pocket and handed it to Zack.
“Here, be useful and do the scanning.” I shoved the phone in his hand and walked behind Brian to the reception.
“Mr. Sanders, here are the keys to your rooms. I hope you had a nice ride? Do you want to have a late meal?”
“No, thanks.. we will just get to our rooms and sleep.” Matt shook his head.

We all were exhausted after the long drive, it took us way longer than expected, Johnny and Matt had divided the driving parts so not only one had to drive the whole distance.
“Alright, have a nice stay.” The guy at the reception said and gave us a smile.
I nodded and was about to walk to the elevator but Matt stopped me with one hand.
“Wait a sec.”
I frowned at him, what now?!

“I saw in our documents, that we could find a job here, do you know about this assignment or do we have to talk to somebody else about it?” Matt asked.
Oh man, really? We just arrived and he was already asking for a new job?
Damn, this workaholic was crazy!

I heard Brian groan next to me, he laid his arm around my shoulder and leaned his weight on me.
“Dude, can’t we sleep before you hire us a new job?” Johnny asked but Matt just shrugged his shoulders.

“Yes, actually.” The guy replied “We have all the information here. Please just be ready at 8 tomorrow, come down here in the lobby and my colleague will give you the instruction for your job. Now, I wish you a nice evening and have a blissful sleep.”
“Thank you.”
We all walked into the elevator and nearly fitted in there with us 5 and all the bags.
“Get up at 8? Damn…” Zack murmured.
“Not get up at 8, be ready in the lobby at 8!” Matt corrected him.
“Yes, fine.. whatever.” Zack nodded.

I opened my room, let my bag drop onto the floor and just fell into bed.
I lay there for about 30 minutes when I pulled my phone out of my pocket and was looking for some new messages… alright maybe not some new messages… maybe one in particular.

Maybe Mia was in her hotel now, sitting on her bed, thinking about me… like I was thinking about her?
Ah damn that girl… she had me under her spell and I knew her for what 2 days?
But that means something, right? RIGHT?!
I needed sleep.. and I shouldn’t be thinking too much.. we had to get up early..

Mia´s POV
The guy Nick set us up with was really nice. He had a big catering company and he had a nice job for us that evening. It was a fancy dinner party thrown by a husband for his wife who had her 50th birthday today. I had a wonderful night, even though I was serving the food instead of eating it, but now we were back at the apartment Tim arranged for us, my feet hurt and I was tired as hell.

The evening had made me even more melancholic, that husband was so sweet to his wife, he moved so in sync with her as if it was natural and the only way he could live. It was beautiful to be part of their special night. The husband had given us a generous tip at the end of the evening, when he and his wife said goodbye to us. With his wife close to his side, he told us they had been together for nearly 30 years and that you never should let go of the one who made you happy.

.....Jimmy made me happy..... Happier than I have been in a long, long time and even though I only knew him two days, I missed him like crazy.

Izzie walked into the room after her shower, drying her hair with a towel “Damn, I missed a good hot shower. It was amazing” I chuckled “Yeah, I figured, you’ve been in there for nearly half an hour!” Izzie giggled “But I needed it, I was a very dirty girl” I made a fake gag reflex “Save that for your next ONS will you?” Izzie laid down next to me, laughing really hard “I don’t think I can ever do it again, Brian ruined me for all the others, the sex was THAT good!” She had blissful smile on her face, almost zoning out to the thought again. She did that a lot.

“Are you ever going to send one of those messages you typed today?” her voice startled me a little. I held on to my phone “I don’t know. I think I want to send him something, but I don’t want to hurt him” Izzie turned to her side and looked at me “Mia, be honest with me, was this just fun and one night stand to you?” I blushed heavily, staring at the ceiling “That’s what I thought” she replied “You’re not going to like what I’m going to say then. You are probably never going to see him again. He is at least 8 hours away from here, they will move away even further, give yourself a break, send him a message, have some fun in texting him, enjoy yourself. What harm can that do?”

Maybe she was right, I should just enjoy the distance and the fact that I could still have a little contact with him. I got my phone and typed a message

“Jimmy, I miss you, the town we’re in is boring. It could use some of your craziness. I could use some of your craziness. If I promise to not wait so long to send you something again, do you promise to keep in touch? X M”

I pressed send, before I could change my mind and held the phone to my heart. Within seconds my phone beeped to indicate I got a message. I grinned widely. Jimmy!

My heart stopped, my face fell and I let the phone fall out of my hands, onto my body. Izzie’s smile disappeared “Mia? What is it? What does it say?” I couldn’t speak, I couldn’t move, I was paralysed. I felt Izzie take my phone from me, reading the message I just received out loud.

“You thought you could run from me. Think again sweetie! I saw you in the zoo with Izzie and the tall guy, already got a new boyfriend? Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, bad girl, you know you are mine forever”
