Rowan

I smiled lightly at Leigha and Matt who were sitting at the large table. Matt was keeping Leigha entertained while I finished cooking dinner. After I was done I came out carrying the steaks, corn, onion rings (homemade) and my homemade mixed berry cobbler. I then carefully placed all of the food on the table, seeing Matt’s eyes go wide and his mouth start to water.

“This looks amazing Rowan” he said to me. “I hope you like the taste as much as you like the looks” I said to him before serving him a rare stake, some corn and some onion rings. I then put a little bit of corn and some steak on Leigha’s plate, smiling as the two instantly began to eat. “Oh my god Rowan” Matt muttered after eating some of his steak. “This tastes amazing. You’re phenomenal cook” He looked at me with a sweet smile and instantly went back to eating his food. I was about to start eating when I heard someone knock on the door. I looked at Matt confused before I stood up and walked over to the door.

“Hel-“ I said before cutting myself off. I stood there completely shocked that Zack would even try to come here. “What the hell do you want?” I said, slipping out the front door, grabbing my car keys as I did so.

“Rowan, I’m sorry, I swear. She was a mistake” he pleaded. “Do you really think I’m that stupid Zack?” I snapped. “How long have you been seeing each other?” I asked, my eyes narrowed at him. He didn’t answer me which pissed me off even more. “How long!” I yelled out. “Six months” I heard him mutter under his breath as he looked at the ground. “Fuck you” I spat, tears rolling down my cheeks. “Looks like you learned all your tricks about cheating from Gena. Why don’t you two get back together you asshole” I snapped, tears rolling down my cheeks.

Before I realized what I was doing I shoved past him and got into my SUV. I closed the door, and locked them hearing a muttered “Rowan wait!” as I started the engine. I pulled out of the driveway so fast that my tires squealed as I sped down the road. I felt the tears roll down my cheeks, making the road blurry and everything look double. I knew I shouldn’t be driving while I was upset, especially since I was pregnant, but I couldn’t help it. He cheated on me for six months, just like Gena did to him.

“Fucking asshole” I sniffled, taking my hand off the wheel long enough to rub the tears from my eyes. Just as I looked up I saw a huge Semi truck speeding towards me, causing me to jerk my wheel to the right where I crashed through a guard rail and down a cliff, causing the large SUV to roll several times before landing on the hood in the small creek at the bottom. I could feel something warm running down my forehead and dripping down into my eyes. I moved my head as best as I could, letting out a quiet whimper I looked at my arm that was sliced open before trying to reach for my phone. Unable to reach it I let my arm fall and looked out the windshield. I blinked my eyes a couple times before passing out.

Matt
I sat at the table, quietly eating dinner with Leigha while Rowan went to go see who was at the door. After a few minutes I heard tires squealing down the road and I cursed under my breath.

“Leigha” I said to her, “Stay here okay? I’m gonna go see who’s at the door” I said to her before standing up and walking to the door. I slowly opened it to see Zacky pacing back and forth, running his hands through his hair.

“What the hell did you do to her?” I snapped at him, causing him to spin around and look at me with wide green eyes.
