Carry On

"Gracie!" I shouted drying my hands from washing the dishes. "Gracie?"

"Mommy" she ran through jumping up at me with a colourful piece of paper. "Look what I painted for daddy it's him and uncle Mattie"

"Wow that's beautiful" I smiled bending down to the three year olds height, admiring the painting. "Well I was going to take us to go see daddy and uncle Mattie in the studio?"

"Can I come?!" She gasped.

"No you're staying here" I joked, laughing at the fsct i said 'we'. I took my keys and phone and slotted them inside my baggy pockets watching her face drop and tear up. "Sweetie! Mommy was joking, just joking" I chuckled swooping her up carrying her outside.

"Don't say I can't come anymore momma because I want to see daddy"

Brian had been too busy. Neither me or Grace had seen him in over 2 weeks. It was too long for us. I strapped her into the car tightly and drove away to the studio, 20 minutes away.

...

"Ok, you got daddys drawing?" I smiled turning around to look at my exited daughter. Brian made the mistake of singing Gracie a chorus of a new song, and she hadn't shut up singing it for 3 months. - 'Hail to king! Hail to one! Knee to the crown! Stand in sunnn!' - it was adorable, but flipping annoying to say she never even said the words right.

"Yes!" She squealed unbelting herself.

"Go on then" I smiled. She raced out of the car and into the studio. I quickly raced after her to find her lost. "This one," I smiled opening the door for her.

Gracie slowly crept through, but a huge smile appeared once she saw Brian.

"Daddy!!!" She squealed.

"Grace!" He seemed shocked but really happy she was here. He quickly walked over to her and picked her up high making her laugh loudly. "I've missed you sweetheart," he kissed her cheeks, lips, head, well all over. "Is mommy here?"

"I'm here" I smiled. Brian smirked at me, and walked over to me with Gracie still up in his arms. He kissed me so sweetly.

"I'm so sorry I haven't seen you both. We're just doing the finishing touches, then it's all over for now" The phrase 'for now' frightened me. Brian hadn't been on proper tour since Gracie arrived, I was worried about being on my own.

Me and Brian were still perfect. Normally, being married and having a child usually dampens things, but things just got better and better. So did Brians hair. I mean, it was just - wow.

"I drawn a photo for you and Uncle Mattie where is he?" Brian walked off with Gracie, leaving me in a room with Zack.

It hasn't been the same. The odd memory whizzed back, but I still can't remember him. We were friends, but, not how we used to be according to everybody. He didn't look ok ever since, and I couldn't help but feel to blame.

"Hey," I smiled sitting next to him on the sofa. "How's it going?"

"Alright" he nodded. "You?"

"Good," I smiled. "You wanna go, get some coffee while Grace spends some time with her dad?"

Zacks face thankfully lit up. "Sure"
