Hostage

Matt’s POV

I looked at Alicia, her eyes full of tears. I looked around, finding no Zack.
What happened here?
“Where is Zack?”
“He left… He didn’t want to talk to you… or at least not right now. Give him a little time. Hm… I think… Caroline and I will leave for a moment, you guys should talk.” Johnny nodded at me and Alicia.
“Yes, good idea. Let’s wait outside.” Caroline grabbed Johnny’s hand,
and with that they moved out of the door and I walked to Alicia, sitting down next to her.
“What is going on?” I turned towards her and she looked down on her hands.
“I’m in love with you.” I heard her whisper.
“What?” I couldn’t believe it… did my ears and mind play a trick on me?
“I mean it.” She looked up and I didn’t know what to think anymore.
“You mean what? I don’t think I understood you correctly.” I told her and she looked a little confused.
She grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes “Matt, I’m in love with you. I guess I fell in love with you when we were held hostage, I was confused afterwards, because you pushed me away and Zacky was there for me… but damn it… I’m in love and if you just feel a little bit for me as well I would really appreciate if you would tell me that now.” She tried to smile while another tear ran down her cheek.
“You make me the happiest man alive, right now. Damn Alicia, I thought you… I mean you and Zack… I didn’t want to get between you. I was an idiot for not telling you how I feel. I realized it when you already were with Zack. I never wanted to get between you… but I love you, I fell for you and I fell so damn hard that it hurts so much to not be able to hold you and have you in my arms.”
“Then do it, I am sitting here… waiting for you.” Alicia smiled and I didn’t wait another moment longer.

I pulled her to my lap, hugging her close, kissing her lips and she immediately granted me entrance, I didn’t know how long we sat like that but I just couldn’t let her go.
She told me she had the same feelings for me as I had for her, nothing else mattered… except the small detail that we still had to talk to Zack, I had to hurt my friend… but I couldn’t let the chance of Alicia and me being together slip away.
She was what I wanted, what I needed… I wouldn’t let her go…

“We should talk to Zack, he needs to know… I have to apologize to him.” Alicia said and looked sad.
“We will, I also have to talk to him, I was an ass. I hurt him, and I hurt you, I never meant for this to happen, Alicia.”
“I know, Matt. Let’s just start over… Let us clear the situation with Zack, we both owe him an apologize.” Alicia smiled and leaned onto my chest and nodded into her hair, inhaling deeply.
I came here to talk to her and maybe even give up on her and ended up with her in my arms, this was not what I expected but more than I had hoped for…

A knock on the door disturbed our little moment of peace.
“I will let them come back inside.” Alicia said and moved of my lap and opened the door.
“And?” Johnny asked and looked hopeful.
“Thank you.” Alicia hugged him and Johnny looked a little perplexed.
“You are welcome…I guess…” He shrugged and hugged her.
“For making me say everything, for clearing the situation, for being… you.” Alicia smiled and Johnny grinned back.
“So you finally made up and you are together now, can we finally announce it? Because damn guys, this back and forth is just kindergarten, and was too much for my nerves.”
“Thanks, Johnny.” I clapped his back. “Yeah, we still have to talk to Zack, but I think we can make it official now.” I grabbed Alicia’s waist and pulled her into my arms, kissing her again, I couldn’t get enough of that.

Zack’s POV

“Open the damn door!” I yelled and waited for Brian to finally show up.
“GODS DAMNIT!” Brian stood at the door Michelle on his heels.
“What is wrong? It’s freaking early!” Brian groaned seeing me standing there.
“I know… but at my house is a meeting of people I rather not see.” I went past Brian inside his living room.
“Who would that be?” Michelle asked sitting down beside me.
“Matt, Johnny, Alicia and her friend Caroline.” I replied sighing loudly.
“And why don’t you want to see them?” Michelle asked, seeming clueless of everything that happened.
“Babe, will you make us some coffee, I think Zack could need one right now.” Brian asked her and motioned her away with her hand.
“Hmm… sure.” She left not looking too happy.
“Spill it.” Brian sat down beside me.
“I broke up with Alicia and send Matt to her…” I told Brian the whole story until the moment I left, like a coward.
“Go back!” Brian stood up.
“Huh?” I looked up to him, he grabbed my arm and shoved me to the door while he put a jacket on.
“Go back and talk to them, damn Zacky… I didn’t think you would be such an idiot, you will not know what’s going on if you don’t talk to them. I think Alicia needs more than the explanation you gave her and you have to talk everything out with Matt. He is your best friend and you guys need to talk. It was the right thing for you to do to back off and even if it will hurt, you have to talk to him and her. Better now then leave this out in the open for too long. Damn, Zack… you should know this by yourself.” Brian dragged me out of the door.
“Did you not come here by car?” Brian frowned looking at his driveway.
“No… I didn’t have the time…” I blushed a little. I really felt bad for running away like that, we were all adults we should clear a situation like adults, I just doesn’t want to feel the hurt so soon again.
But Brian was rights, as weird as it sounds, better get it over with now.
“Will you drive me?” I asked frowning.
“Yeah sure… Wait.. CHELLE? Forget the coffee, I’ll be back later.” He grabbed his keys and without waiting for a reply shut the door.

We drove to my home, two cars were left, Johnny and Matt’s… does that mean Alicia was gone already?
And Matt wanted an explanation now?
I sighed loudly and Brian parked, “Should I come with you?”
“Nah, I’m good. I will call you later… thanks man…”
“No problem. Sometimes even I have the clearer view then you… let me just enjoy this moment so I can rub it under your nose, when I’m the dumb one again, alright?”
“Fine… but not so soon hopefully.” I opened the door and went to my front door.
I breathed deeply in and out before I opened the door.
I walked into the living room, saw the basket with Alicia’s belonging still standing there… why didn’t she take them with her?
“Oh Zack, so you changed your mind?” Johnny noticed me first and I looked at him then my eyes found two other people standing there.
Matt and Alicia were holding hands and smiling at each other, my heart did hurt a little, seeing her with someone else, but I expected it to be worse.
The main feeling was that I was glad, she was happy, Matt seemed to be happy and I knew that I made the right decision.
