Hostage

Sean’s POV

“Why did he hit you?” William looked at me frowning, he gave me an ice-pack for my jaw.
“I shoved her back into his room, he surprised me, that son of a bitch… Damn… I just wanted to help. But what is wrong with Carl? He was about to rape her! Is he fucking insane?” I looked at William who looked around but Carl was gone since the incident with Alicia.
“Man, I don’t know… he snapped… but I think he is back to normal now. Don’t worry. We only have to wait until they place the money as in our instruction, then we let them go, right Sean? We can wait.. it’s not that long only a couple of more days.”
I shook my head, “No, Will. I told you I am out, when Carl comes back, I am out.”
“NO! Seany you can do that! Just a few more days… we won’t leave Carl alone with her… come on, Sean… don’t.. don’t let leave me hanging…” William begged.
“Fuck, Will.. I can’t.” I stood up “Will you be fine alone, for an hour?”
“Hmm.. yeah, sure. Why? Where are you going?” William asked me suspicious.
“Damn, Will… I need an hour for myself, alright? I will come back… I just need a moment.”
“Fine, go. I will wait here, and remember you promised… you are my brother, I need you. Don’t leave me hanging.. don’t leave me like.. dad.” William said and he knew that I couldn’t say anything about that.
“I.. damn.. I won’t and you know it.” I got up left the ice-pack on the table and went to my car.

30 minutes later I parked my car close by Brian’s house.I didn’t really have a plan, but I had to figure something out, in the next 30 minutes.
I pulled a paper sheet out and began to make a short note.
I waited a little and then quickly moved towards the door and slipped it underneath the door and made my way back to the hotel.

Zack’s POV

I picked Caroline up and we drove over to Brian’s house.
We were both nervous about the messages from our friends, I had spent some time with Caroline now and I liked her she was a good friend, an amazing friend for Alicia, as far as I could tell.
When I had picked her up, I had also met Caroline’s husband Bradley, he was also worried about Alicia, the three of them were friends for a long time and the more Caroline was talking about her best friend the more curious I got.

I rang the doorbell at Brian’s house and we waited for him to open up.
“Hey guys, come on in.” Brian walked in and Caroline followed him, when I noticed a paper on the floor.
I picked it up, it was just folded one time and not in an envelope, I frowned at the paper and read the handwriting.

You don’t know me, but I want to help you get your friends back as soon as possible.
We need to hurry!
I can’t just tell you the address, we have to meet and figure out a plan.
Believe me, I am not kidding, we need to act quickly.
One of you will meet me tomorrow at 9 at the Park in Huntington Beach, just one!
If you wanna get your friends back, better be there!

“BRIAN?” I yelled.
“Huh?” Brian came back and looked at me and the paper frowning.
“Did you read that?” I held the paper out for him.
“No, what’s that?” Brian looked over my shoulder and read the letter frowning.
“Do you think that’s real?” Brian asked.
“I guess we will find out tomorrow. Who should meet with him there?” I asked him.
“I will.” Johnny said and took the letter from my hands.
“You sure?” Brian asked.
“Yes, I am sure. I will… don’t worry, I will call you after the meeting right away. We need to figure this out quick and we need to get our friends back as soon as possible.” Johnny said and I couldn’t agree with him more.

Caroline had told me about Alicia’s illness about her cancer, she didn’t mean to, but when she was so distressed about Alicia and the abduction she told me everything and I had to agree the sooner we could get Matt and Alicia out of there the better.
I felt bad for Alicia, she didn’t even know if her cancer came back or not… she had an appointment with her doc to make some test, to see if the cancer was back and she never got the results, cause that was the day she vanished.
Damn, I didn’t know the girl but I already felt with her…

“Here, look that’s the message we got from Alicia and Matt. Caroline, tell us about your worst vacation together…” Brian asked.
Caroline looked a little confused, “What? Worst vacation.. well our worst vacation was in Scotland I think, we were young and dumb… made this trip without really planning it… hm.. well yeah. Why would you ask that?”
Brian handed her the message we got from Alicia and Matt and she looked at it.
“Oh my.. that really is Alicia’s writing.. I mean.. oh.. god..!” Caroline began to sob and I pulled her into a hug.
“Damn.. Do you think.. they took them away.. to Scotland?” Johnny asked confused.
“What? Why Scotland?!” I frowned at him.
“That’s what she said her worst vacation was in Scotland.” Johnny explained.
“They are not in Scotland.” Brian shook his head.
“Tell us what was so bad in Scotland?” I asked her.
“Well… hm.. I guess.. everything, the food.. we just at junk food.. cause you know what creepy crap they are eating there? What else… we couldn’t understand the people.. they had this really bad accent… hm.. and the hotel..oh god the hotel was the worst.. I mean.. we had this small room, with just one bed and we had to share it… We got a room with a small window where you couldn’t really look out from, cause it was so dirty and well.. a small bathroom with nothing, not even a window.. yeah I think the hotel was the worst.. after one night we decided to move on and rent us something else.. that was really the worst vacation.”
“Hotel.. so they really are in a hotel..!” Johnny said.
“Yes, you could be right, why else would she writ something like that… but we can’t just drive to all hotel in the next, 200 miles or something..” Brian shook his head.
“Damn.. we gotta wait for this meeting tomorrow and hope that it will help us somehow.. that whoever it is who wants to meet with us, really has a clue about Matt and Alicia…” I looked at Brian and Johnny and they nodded.
“Alright, we will meet again here and we have to talk about what Johnny has to do and ask on that meeting.. we have to be prepared.”
“Will you call me? I mean I wanna know what’s going on, too. I need to know what we can do.. maybe I can help.. ?” Caroline looked at me and I nodded.
“Of course, I will call you when we meet and you can decide if you can come over.” I told her.
“Alright, I have to go back home, Bradley is already waiting for me.” Caroline hugged Brian and Johnny goodbye and I brought her home.
