you saved me

I woke up to an empty bed and a soft voice drifting from the hallway. I crawled out of bed and walked to the doorway to see Zack pacing the hallway with the phone against his ear. "She's awake," he said when he saw me, "I'll talk to you later. He hung up the phone and walked over and gave me a kiss. "Sleep okay?" He asked with a soft smile. I nodded and wrapped my arms around his waist, "I like sleeping with you." I said nuzzling his chest. He kissed the top of my head, "you're not to bad to sleep with yourself."
"What time do you work today?" He asked. "At five." I replied. "Good," he said with a grin, "we're going to go swimming!" I grinned and gave him a kiss. We released eachother and he started towards the dresser to hang up the phone. I started to laugh. He turned around and cocked an eyebrow. "Your back is all scratched up and covered in dried blood!" He chuckled.
I grabbed his wrist and pulled him into the bathroom. "Where's the wash cloths?" I asked, he pointed to a cubbard. I grabbed a cloth and started to run warm water. Zack chucked. "What?" I demanded. "Nothing," he started to reply, "it's just cute how you take care of me. I've never had a girlfriend that's been so rough yet so sweet." I smiled and motioned for him to turn around.
Once I got the blood cleaned up I realized some of the scratches were kind of deep. "Do you have peroxide?" I asked. He nodded and opened a door below the sink. He handed me a bottle and some cotton balls. I dumped some on the cotton ball and began to wipe the nail marks. I dropped the cotton ball into the garbage can and placed a kiss on his back, "sorry anout that." He turned to face me and ran a finger lightly across the bruise on my neck, "let's call it even." He whispered.
We returned to his room and I walked over to my pile of clothes. I dug out my phone and opened it to find a low battery and two messages. I opened the first message from my boss:
Get to work 15 minutes early for a meeting,

I opened the second message from my old friend Tehya:
Hey give me a call when you get a chance.

"Shit!" I said louder than I intended. Zack sat down on the bed beside me and put his arm around me, "what's wrong baby?" "My friend wants me to call her," I explained. He looked confused and I knew I had to explain further. "Talking to people on the phone makes me really nervous......" I trailed off from embarassment. He began to rub my back soothingly, "It's okay sweety, I'll be right here for you. Will that help?" I nodded and walked over, grabed the phone and returned to my spot beside Zack.
I took a deep breath, dialed Tehya's number and pressed the phone to me ear. My hand that wasn't holding the phone began to shake and Zack grabbed onto it and began to run his thumb across my knuckles. Tehya finally answered. "Hey Tehya," I said trying not to sound nervous. "Hey Jess!" she said excitidly. "What's up?" I inquired. "I need a vacation and I haven't seen you in so long, can I come crash with you and Will?" "Well," I began, "I'm not with Will anymore. But I have a new boyfriend and I'm sure you can stay with us." I turned to zack and he nodded. "What's his name? Is he hot?" Tehya hooted "Zack and your so fucking immature!" I replied with a laugh. "Well that must mean he's hot and he's nearby." She squealed loudly. "Shut the fuck up you dick cheese he's right here and he can hear you!" I said with fake anger. "In that case," she said, "HI ZACK!" she screamed into my ear. "Hi." Zack said with a chuckle. "Anyways tehya text me the details of your vacation, talk to you later." I hung up and flopped back on the bed.
"That woman is insane!" I said running my hand through my hair. Zack chuckled as I stood up. "I'm going to get dressed," I said as I exited the room. I got to my room and began to hunt for my favorite black bikini.
I smiled sadly at the sight of it. I love that suit but Will never let me wear it because it showed my scars. But I'm with Zack now, and he doesn't care.
I sliped it on, slicked my hair into a high ponytail, put Zacks shirt and a pair of leggings on and put my black flip flops on. I excited my room to find Zack exiting his. We walked downstairs and out the door.
I was kind of confused when Zack walked to Matt's car but I justt followed without question. We climbed in and started down the road. "So where are we going swimming?" I asked, breaking the silence. "Matt has a pool," he explained. I nodded and we finished out the ride in slience.
The ride to Matt's house was only 5 minutes. We pulled into the driveway of a moderatly large house. We got out of the car and Zack grabbed my hand and lead me around to the back of the house. We walked up to a large inground pool in which Matt was swimming laps. He stopped when he saw us and hauled himself out to sit on the side. He smiled and waved.
Zack set down our towels on a chair and stripped off his shirt. Matt chuckled, "well it looks like someone got their revenge. I giggled, took off my clothes and headed for the diving board at the deeper end of the pool. I climbed up, walked to the end, bounced twice did a flip and dove in.
I popped my eyes open to see Matt's feet still in the water and began to swim towards him. Once I reached the other end of the pool I grabbed Matt's ankle. He pulled his feet out of the water with a jerk. I popped up laughing. Matt turned to Zack, "you're right, she is fucking crazy!"
