No Strings Attached

Jess's POV

Brian is coming back in 3 days and I'm so happy. Mel is due in about another week so everything is coming together. I've been going to my appointments and my doctor says that Mel is healthy and perfect.

"Jess? Honey?" Suzy yelled from the door.

"I'm in the living room!" I yelled back as I began to rub lotion onto my belly. Suzy came into the room with Brian Sr. behind her with a lot of bags.

"Jesus woman. She's having a baby. Melody will eventually grow out of these." Brain Sr. said, letting all of the bags drop to the floor and falling onto the chair. Suzy and I both rolled our eyes and let out a chuckle.

"So how are you feeling today?" Suzy asked me, pushing Brian Sr. aside and sitting by me.

"I'm okay. My feet and back are hurting a bit, but other than that I'm fine. Wow...Mel will be here in a week. I can't believe it." I whispered and looked down at my belly. "I hope she looks exactly like Brian."

"Let's hope she doesn't act like him. The Haner men are such a handful." Suzy laughed and gave my belly a quick rub

"But you love me!" Brian Sr. pouted. Suzy just smirked at him. The rest of that day, I watched as Suzy and Brian Sr. showed me the clothes they bought and they helped me put them away.

"Junior texted and said that they guys are heading to the 2 shows and he will be back in 3 days." Brian Sr. said, giving me the phone so that he could finish folding clothes. I looked at the screen and smiled, feeling Mel kick.

"Woah...calm down, Mel. Daddy will be home in a few days and you'll finally get to meet him." I whispered quietly.

"Well, we will get out of your hair for now. We'll be back when Junior gets back. Oh, and we'll drop off Pinkly when he's back too." Brian Sr. and Suzy both hugged me before they left. I walked back to Mel's nursery and sat in the chair, taking a look at the room.

If you would have told me a year ago that I would be having Brian's baby and getting married to him, I wouldn't believe you. A lot has changed since then. I couldn't be happier than where I am right now. Now, all I have to wait for is for Brian to come back home so I can be complete once again.

Turning off the light in the room, I walked across the hallway and into our bedroom, stripping down and getting into the shower. The warm water cascaded down my body as I finally relaxed. I washed my hair and my body, then got out and put on a silk night gown that touched the floor. Picking up my phone, I texted Brian.

J: off to bed now. sweet dreams. I love you.

B: I'm sorry I didn't call. I'm super busy with equipment. I'll call you in the morning. I love you too, babe.

I smiled and laid down on Brian's side of the bed, placing a pillow under my bump and falling fast asleep.

3 Days Later

Brian's POV

The guys and I were landing in Orange County and I could feel the butterflies in my stomach go crazy. All of us were eager to get off the plane and see or loved ones. I looked over to my side and saw Matt clutching the seat, anxious for the plane to land faster. I couldn't blame him. I kept checking the time and bouncing my foot off the floor.

Finally, the plane landed, but since we were in the middle, people were already standing up and walking out. I was tapping the seat as I waited for people to get off the plane so that I could finally see Jess. When there was enough space for me to get up, I jumped up and grabbed my carry-on, running off the plane and to baggage claim.

I grabbed my bag and made my way to the front, looking for Jess. And finally, I saw her, standing with my mom and dad by the car. She was wearing a purple maternity dress that showed her beautiful baby bump.

I ran across the road and swept her up in my arms, holding her so she was flush against me. I felt her tears go through my shirt, and I looked down at her.

"Don't cry. I'm here now. I've missed you so much." I kissed her lips that were wet from her tears, making them so soft.

"I'm so happy you're back. I love you, Brian. Mel is happy too, look." She took my hand and placed it on her stomach where Mel was kicking. Tears stung my eyes as I felt my daughter kick.

"Wow...that's amazing. I'm here now, baby girl. I'm home." I stooped down and gave her stomach a light kiss. I got back up and held Jess, caressing her stomach.

"Welcome home, son." My dad gave me a side hug. I gave my mom and McKenna a kiss on the cheek and a quick hug. "Well, we just wanted to welcome you home, but we have to go. Mac has a show so we are going over there."

"Alright. Good luck, Mac and remember, breathe." I hugged her again and kissed her head.

"You call me whenever she starts having contractions or anything happens. Okay?" Suzy scolded me like a child, making me roll my eyes.

"I know, Suz. I'll see you guys later." We waved bye to each other and went our separate waves. Jess and I walked towards my beloved Cadillac, my arm wrapped around her shoulders.

"I'm so glad to be back. Wanna go get dinner?" I asked her, kissing her head again. I can't let go of her. I'm trying, but I either end up kissing her or hugging her again.

"Yeah. I'm craving some pasta?" She blushed.

"Pasta it is." She smiled brightly and kissed my cheek.

i will have the last chapter up when i get back home from school. im still undecided about writing a sequel but eh ill think about it today. i hope you have a good day :)
