Conjuring Her Deepest Fears

Chapter 1

Brian sat at the kitchen table as his wife, Rain, screamed at him. "Why don't you get off of your fucking high horse and do something around here! I cook for you, I clean your dishes, I wash your fucking clothes, I do everything for you, and I don't get one bit of appreciation. That's all I ask, Brian! One fucking thank you!" He gritted his teeth as he sat there looking forward. He just wanted to get up and storm out. He was getting ready to, anyway. He finally stood up from the table. "What about me? I'm the one who's making the fucking money around here! Where's my thank you?!" He walked past Rain and headed towards the door. "Where the fuck do you think you're going?" he heard his wife ask. "I'm getting the hell away from you," he said. And with that, he stormed out.
Brian clenched his jaw as he opened his car door and slammed it shut. He had been putting up with this for too long. He knew that he's had enough.
He pulled out of the driveway. Should I go to Johnny's? He quickly decided against it. Johnny has probably been drinking and there's nothing worse than a drunk Johnny. Who's the next closest? He thought for a moment. Matt. He turned onto Matt's street and pulled into his driveway. Brian got out of his car and slammed the door shut. After storming onto the porch, he banged his fist on the front door. He waited a few seconds, then the door opened to reveal a concerned Valary Sanders. "Brian? Is something wrong?" she asked. "You're damn right something's wrong," he said as he stepped past her and invited himself inside. Matt sat on the couch and looked up. "Hey, man. What happened?" "My bitch of a wife, that's what happened." He sat down next to Matt and stared forward. "What is it this time?" Matt asked. Brian answered, "Apparently, I don't do enough around the house, so she decides to wait until I'm actually in a good mood to bitch at me about it! I'm sick of her shit, Matt. I'm done!" Matt laid a hand on Brian's shoulder. "Look, just calm down. Everything is fine," he said. Brian quickly stood up. "Calm down? I'm not gonna calm down when my own wife criticizes every little thing about me." He paced back and forth. Brian was furious. His temper has been getting worse and everyone has noticed. "Just take a deep breath," Matt said. Brian stopped and closed his eyes. He deeply inhaled and let it out slowly. "Can I crash here tonight. I don't want to go back home. I can't right now," he said. "Sure, man. Whatever. Just try to stay calm before the neighbors call the police or some shit."

Brian laid there on Matt's couch. His phone kept buzzing and buzzing. He knew it was Rain trying to get ahold of him. He decided to grab his phone off of the coffee table and see what she was saying.

11:34 p.m.
Rain:
where the hell did u go?

11:46 p.m.
Rain:
brian answer me

11:53 p.m.
Rain:
fine. be a dick

He smiled a little loving the fact that she was pissed off. He yawned and sat his phone down. After he laid back, he phone started vibrating. Rain was calling. "Ah, the bitch just never gets the hint, does she?" He leaned over and rejected the call. He smiled wider knowing that move must have drove her crazy. After laying back down, it started vibrating again. "Leave me the fuck alone," he said quietly as he rejected the call again. He received a text message shortly after.

12:07 a.m.
Rain:
stop denying my calls you fucking asshole

He quietly chuckled and turned his phone off. "Enough of her for one night," he said as he laid back.
Brian didn't exactly know why he wasn't getting along with Rain lately. They've just argued every single day. They must have been drifting apart. Or at least, that's what Brian thought. They used to always be happy. Back when they first got married, they were probably the happiest couple on the face of this earth. But now, Brian regrets even proposing to her. I guess you could say he hated her. Matt knew Brian wanted her gone. Matt has even told him how bad his temper has gotten. Any little thing would set him off and Brian knew it was all Rain's fault. It's her fault. Everything is her fault.
Brian felt a growing pain in his head. He closed his eyes and rolled over. He soon drifted off to sleep.
