Not a bad thing

It was Saturday early in the afternoon. Katie and I were having the afternoon to ourselves. Brian and Jimmy had to prepare Jimmy’s house for the party tonight. So we decided to do girl’s stuff. Get a mani-pedi, see if we maybe could get some new dresses and just chat and hang out.

Katie did found a new dress and we were just entering one of my favourite shops when we saw Naomi walking towards us. Katie grabbed my arm when she felt me tense up. “Ah well, if it isn’t my favourite prude” Naomi greeted me. “Ah well, if it isn’t my favourite whore” I spat at her. “Your breaking up with Chris only made things look up for me. He is just insatiable. The sex we have! Damn girl, I can’t believe you let that go” Katie looked at me and then at Naomi, her eyes full of fire. “Come with me Izzie, she’s not even worth it”. I turned to Naomi one more time “You know what, you can have him. He’s isn’t that special. I’ve seen bigger. Right Katie?”.

Katie grinned, grabbed my hand and pulled me into the store. I started to laugh uncontrollably, Katie soon joined me and we were getting weird stares by the store employees. We just couldn’t stop. I think I could finally say I was over Chris and that bitch Naomi could kiss my ass too. Katie tried to catch her breath and looked at me “I can’t wait to tell Brian. He will be so proud of you!” She pulled me into a hug “Come on, we’ll get you a “I’m free of assholes”-dress. You will be the talk of the night!” After fitting 5 dresses, the 6th was it. It fitted perfectly and I felt so comfortable in it. Mission accomplished.

Once we arrived home we started to get dressed. Within an hour we both were finished and ready to go. We would go to Jimmy´s early to meet up with the guys, see if we can help them with some preparing. We took my beetle and I would park in Jimmy´s garage to keep it save during the party. I would really feel bad if my baby got hurt.

Jimmy´s house was decorated and the guys were almost done preparing the food and drinks. Katie and I settled on the couch, waiting for them. 20 minutes later they both jumped over the back of the couch, Jimmy next to me and Brian next to Katie. “Our masterpiece is done, this night is going to be legendary!” Brian kissed Katie deeply. I smiled, the month was almost done, everything worked out for the best. I was so happy having these nice people around me. I didn’t know what I would’ve done without them the past 4 weeks. “Oh! Guys, I have to tell you the best story. Izzie kicked total ass this afternoon!” I heard Katie tell the Naomi story with great pride. Both Jimmy and Brian looked at me all surprised and put their hands up to high-five me. “Great job Izzie! I’m proud of you” Brian kissed my temple, pulling me into a hug. “This situation needs shots!” Jimmy screamed, already running for the booze. He came back with 4 glasses, a bottle of tequila, lemon and salt. “Shots!!” Jimmy was out of his mind. I wasn’t surprised, he was like this all the time.

I felt the shot burn in my throat. I didn’t really drink much, so this shot went to my head immediately. Katie and I hung out while the guys got dressed. Jimmy ran down the stairs quickly when the first guests started to arrive. Within the hour the house was packed. I don’t know who they invited. Maybe the better question was who they didn’t invite. Whole teenage Huntington must be hanging out here tonight. Jimmy was known for his great parties as I heard everybody say tonight. And everyone was already feeling the end of the school year and they were celebrating summer. Drunk people surrounded me quickly. I was going around the room, talking to a lot of people. I had been in hibernation pretty much the past few weeks, there was so much gossip to catch up on. I was talking to my classmate Chloe when Katie walked up to me. “That guy over there is soooo checking you out” she whispered, nodding her head to the corner of the room. When I looked over I saw him staring at me openly and a faint smiled graced his beautiful face. I didn’t know who he was, but I was soon finding out, because he was coming over. Katie smiled at me and quietly moved away from me. “Hi, my name is Brad, you are?” “Izzie” I said as he grabbed my hand putting a kiss on it. Ah, chivalry, I liked him already. “Wanna go outside and talk?”. He held out his hand to me. I grabbed it and walked with him towards the backdoor. This could be interesting.

Brad appeared to be really nice. He was attending another high school close by and heard of the party from one of his friends. He just broke up with his longterm girlfriend and he was just looking for a fun night with friends. He told me he had it with girls, but I looked friendly. He told me he was sure we could just hang out without any trouble. He smiled at me, so I told him about Chris. Or the short version. I felt myself having far less boundaries with this guy, maybe I did have too much to drink. So when Brad moved forward, stroking my cheek softly and kissed me, I let him. It was nice to have someone like me, other than a friend. Brad pulled me up the sunbed where he was sitting on and pulled me close, never breaking our kiss. I felt his hands move over my back as I was exploring his face with one of my hands, the other holding his neck. Brad’s tongue was teasing against my lips and I granted him access. I moaned softly. This felt so good. I think we were kissing for a while when I felt something pull Brad away from me. Before I knew it, I saw Brian punching Brad’s face.

Brian’s POV
The party was going great. Everyone had fun. Jimmy was acting crazy like always. I saw Izzie walking around, talking to a lot of people. She looked so happy. This plan worked out great. The past four weeks had been tough sometimes, but mostly we had a lot of fun, the four of us. I felt Katie’s arms around my waist. I pulled her around my body and kissed her deeply, our tongues dancing. We fitted well. Izzie had been right, it was stupid wanting to break up with her. I felt Katie’s hands under my shirt. “Brian, let’s find a room” She wouldn’t have to tell me twice. I grabbed her hand, pulling her with me, as something caught my eye outside. I stood still, Katie looking at me curiously. “Is that Izzie?” I asked her. “Yeah, he came up to her earlier tonight, they hit it off apparently” Katie smiled, pulling me with her. “That’s Brad, he has a girlfriend, they’ve been together for the past 2 years. I met him in the guitar store a few times” I told Katie. Katie looked at me all shocked “Oh no, I feel so sorry for Izzie.” I stormed outside and grabbed Brad by his shirt and punched him in the face. “Brian! Stop it! What the hell are you doing? I’m having a nice time. You are ruining this for me!” Was she really mad at ME? I looked at Katie who was staring at us, just as all the people who were outside too.

I grabbed Izzie’s hand and dragged her along. I could feel her fight me, but I was stronger than her. “Izzie stop it, we need to talk” I opened a random door, finding a large closet. I pushed Izzie in. “You asshole, why did you think you have the right to do that?!” Izzie screamed at me, punching her fists to my chest. “Izzie, would you just listen to me?” Izzie looked at me angrily, hardly willing to listen what I have to say. She crossed her arms in front of her chest. Gazing at me with a look that said “your story has to be really good”. “So Haner, what’s your excuse?” I looked her in the eye. “I know him. His name is Brad, I met him a few times at the guitar store. He is always bragging about his hot girlfriend over in Santa Ana. They have been together for 2 years and they will go to college together. He told me a few days ago”. I saw that Izzie didn’t believe me and that she was up for round number 2. “Yes, he told me about her. They broke up. You didn’t have the right Brian. I can take care of myself” “Is that what you call taking care of yourself? Give yourself to a guy, leaving you crying afterwards because that was all he wanted? I had to pick you up Izzie. You were a mess.” Izzie looked at me with the biggest disgust I’ve ever seen in her. “Are you seriously holding that against me Haner? What the fuck! I thought you were my friend!” I heard her scream at me, but I couldn’t make out any of the words she said anymore. I hurt her and I didn’t know how to fix this now. If she would only shut up for a second. We would make this right, we were best friends, we’ve gone through worse. Before I really knew what I was doing, I moved forward quickly, grabbed her face and kissed her. That would shut her up for a few seconds.

Izzie’s POV
I suddenly felt his lips crash on mine. My mind was doing overtime. Why did he kiss me? But most importantly, why did I kiss him back?! I felt him push me against the wall and caress my face. He bit my bottom lip and tried to gain access. As I opened my mouth a little and felt his tongue entering my mouth, I couldn’t stop thinking.... this was Brian, my Brian, my best FRIEND Brian... Why was I kissing him like this, why didn’t I stop him? I felt his hands wander around my waist as I tried to move myself away from him a little. If I just got away from his body... Maybe then... But damn, he was good at this and we fit so well. I slowly moved my arms around his neck, going through his hair. He came closer again, pulling me against his body. I could feel the heat that was between our bodies. I moaned a little. That seemed to have woken him up, he finally let go of me. “Brian! What the hell was that?!” He looked at me all shocked “I don’t really know, but I think I want to do it again”. He stepped forward, as I moved backwards. He looked at me “Izzie, would you please stand still?” He did another step forward, this time I didn’t move and I felt his lips softly land on mine. The soft kiss soon became more passionate. His hands were everywhere, I couldn’t think straight anymore. Oh my god, I was totally making out with my best friend. How did this happen? I forgot the party that was going on outside of the little room we were in, I forgot the whole world I was living in. The only thing I knew at that moment was Brian, Brian’s hands, Brian’s mouth. I just wanted to be as close to him as I could be, so I pushed my body against his. Our kiss deepened more. I sucked his lip a little when I felt him move from my mouth to my neck... I sighed his name, and felt my knees going all puddinglike.

Then the door opened, “Ow sorry!” as I looked up, Brian still kissing my neck, I looked straight in the eyes of Katie. Who just that second realised what she really saw. “You promised me you would never break my heart Ismay” she cried just before she slammed the door and took off.
