Not a bad thing

Matt’s POV
Brian pushed Chris to the side as we entered the room. He walked after Brian quickly and I closed the door. “You can’t just come in. You need to leave!” Chris yelled at Brian. “Seeing you weren’t listening to Izzie earlier today when she asked you that too, very nicely I might add, I think we have some credit to do the same” I walked towards Chris, making him back down, until he hit the bed and was forced to sit down. “We are going to have a nice talk, or better said, we are going to talk, you are going to listen”. Brian spat at him.

“I really thought you would have learned your lesson from the first time you played Izzie. What made you think you would get away with it another time?!” Chris got a smug smile on his face “I kinda did, huh?” That was it, I couldn’t stand him and the way he talked about Izzie, so I punched his face. Brian chuckled “Well Chris, you had that one coming. That’s what happens to bad people.” I crossed my arms in front of my chest, shooting Chris an angry glare “If I were you, I would keep my mouth shut, because I can guarantee you that there will be more if you don’t” I groaned. Brian continued “So, you decided to just walk back into her life, after all those years. Thinking she was miserable without you, ready to get back to you? Guess what ‘buddy’, she moved on. I suggest you are going to do the same. Not looking back to Huntington. Ever. If I ever catch you near her again, I will make sure that is the last thing you do.” Chris shrugged “I’m not informing you, I’m most certainly not threatening you. I am promising you, with all that is important to me.”

Brian walked forward, shoving Chris, who was gaping at us. I know I should control myself, but it was fucking hard, looking at the face of the person that fucked Izzie up so damn bad. Brian was already walking for the door, but I had so much anger inside of me, I didn’t know what to do with myself. This man hurt the woman I love so bad. I started to walk after Brian, when I heard him snort “She is not even worth it”. I turned around and stormed towards him and started punching his face. My whole vision went red and blurry, I couldn’t think straight. I just wanted to end him. Stop him from ever saying anything about Izzie, ever again. I felt Brian’s arms around me, pushing me out of the door “Enough Matt, it’s enough!!” I tried to get away from Brian, but he blocked the way through. “He learned his lesson Matt, it’s ok. Walk away now” I breathed heavily “No Brian! It’s never fucking enough! He fucked her up so bad and he is not even sorry for it! DAMN!” I fumed.

Brian stood in front of me, trying to get my attention, to calm me down. We’ve been through this before, me and my temper, but normally I got angry over things way less important. “Matt, look at your hands, do you really want to make it worse and go back to Izzie like that?” I followed his advice, my hands were bruised and bloody. He was right, I couldn’t go back to Izzie like this and I did need to get back to her. Brian put his arm around me and guided me down the hall to the exit of the hotel. We really need to get out of here, I don’t know if I can control myself if I saw him again.

Lynn’s POV
It has been almost a month since Chris came to town. While I was driving to the airport I was thinking about that night Matt and Brian went to see Chris. They had both come to Izzie’s afterwards, Brian had just shook his head when I had opened my mouth to ask what happened. Apparently they didn’t want Izzie to know what went down, but I’ve seen Matt’s hands. They were bruised and bloody and I was guessing that didn’t just suddenly appeared on Matt’s hands. Later that night, I got confirmed by Brian that Matt had beaten the shit out of Chris. I agreed with them, it was better for Izzie not to know about that. It would only worry her, but I couldn’t help but agree with Matt, I would have given a lot to just take a swing at him myself.

I just hoped it was enough of a warning for Chris to never ever come back for her again. Izzie was fucked up after his visit. She tried to move on as before, but you could see it confused her that he came back for her. He had put things in her head. Clearly not enough for her to go back to him, but she doubted everything again, even Matt. She had some terrible trust issues. I had to give it to Matt, he was really patient with her and gave her no reason at all to doubt him. I think she just needed time, and someone like Matt to build her confidence again. I was sure everything would turn out fine. She was very resilient, my best friend, but I wished she didn’t need to be. I wanted things to go right for her, for once.

The past weeks had been fairly quiet. I was almost living over at Brian’s, I didn’t see my house for a week at a time and only went back for some clean clothes. Brian understood my need to be alone sometimes and he just let me play my computer games for a whole day, without disturbing me, or let me hang out at Izzie’s, without insisting on coming along. Everything was working out great for us. As for all the others, well...

Johnny and Nessa just went to this Warner Bros theme park for a few days, apparently they could do a whole Harry Potter experience over there. Figures that they both came back with round glasses, wands and a new “I solemnly swear I’m up to no good”-tattoo for Nessa. They were really nice to hang out with, they put a smile on all our faces and you really missed them when they were not around.

Arin and Elise had been on a short holiday to some sunny country, Hawaii or something, I don’t really know. They should get back within the next couple of days. It seems like they might not have survived the holiday test for new couples, because Brian told me that Arin had called him to talk a few times. I don’t know, I’ll see when they get back. They are cute together, but well, you can’t expect all of them to be in it forever.

The ones that were in it for forever were definitely Zacky and Lizzy. Brian was muttering about the fact that they have only been officially dating for a month and they were already talking about moving in together. But as I said to him, they had a lot more history than only this official month. Zacky wasn’t even looking at other women, as he had only had eyes for the one besides him. We were all, even Lizzy, convinced that the obsession would cool down after a while, but we also all knew that he would never do anything to deliberately hurt Lizzy. Zacky was now sad that he never confessed his feelings to Liz earlier. As he said his self, they could have been married already, with their firstborn on the way. They probably should start with moving in, and even though Brian didn’t know yet, it was something that was about to happen within two months, because Lizzy had ended the lease on her apartment this morning.

Us girls had become pretty good friends ourselves. Lizzy, Nessa, Izzie and I were eating together at least once a week. We had invited Elise a few times too, but she never seemed to have the time to hang out with us. Maybe she just didn’t like us. We had all noticed that Izzie was trying really hard to feel good, but we could all see too that she was struggling. That was the reason I was on my way to the airport. I called in the troops.

I pulled over and rushed into the reception area, just as I saw the two smiling faces of my friends coming through the door. “Rye! Leyla! Over here!” We got caught up in a group hug. “I’m so glad you are both here. We can use you here. Let’s go, I’ll catch you guys up in the car” We grabbed their luggage and hauled everything to the car “Damn Rye, what is in here? Rocks?” Rye chuckled “No, I brought my drawing stuff, I’m totally ready for hours on the beach drawing the sea” I noticed Leyla had brought her guitar, but that shouldn’t have amazed me, she never went anywhere without the thing. I looked over at her “Brian said he was really looking forward to hear you play. I showed him a few of your youtube clips. He was impressed” Leyla blushed. “I would love to play together with him, I want to see that technique of his upclose” I laughed “Sure Ley, his technique. He’s mine, just so you know” I stuck my tongue out to her as I got behind the wheel. We all laughed. “So” Leyla said “Tell us about our girl. She still doesn’t know we are coming?”

I shook my head, while manoeuvring the traffic “No she doesn’t. I has been a month since Chris came here. He confused her” Rye sighed “Is she thinking about getting back to him?” I continued “No, she isn’t, but she is doubting everything again.” I told them the whole story. They both got clouded looks on their faces “And Matt is good to her?” Leyla asked. “Yes, Matt is really good to her, he is patient, he gives her no reason to distrust him. But you know her, it’s all just a little voice in her head, telling her things that aren’t truly there, but if she has a bad day, she will believe everything that voice tells her. I just wanted to do something nice for her. So it really worked out great you could clear your schedule” I smiled at them. “I have a few assignments, but I have everything I need with me, so I can do it from here. Ley? Your next assignment isn’t for a month is it?” Leyla nodded “Correct, I have to fly to Amsterdam next, but that’s not for a month. So let’s surprise Izzie and meet those dreamy boyfriends of yours”

Brian had arranged a barbeque for all of us in a few days. Everyone will be there, but the first few days it will only be us girls, we had enough to talk about, so that was nice. We would be staying at Izzie’s house for the first few days and then the girls will stay over at Brian’s. He had the biggest house and he could spare two rooms for the next few weeks.

We had reached Izzie’s house and we got out of the car. “You two should go to the back, I will enter through the front door. Wait for my cue” I told them, pointing in the right direction. I opened the front door with my key and walked for the living room, to find Matt and Izzie making out heavily on the couch. “IZZIE!” They both shot up, faces deep red, both making their clothes decent again. “Matt, goddamn! You knew I was coming. What the hell?!” I saw Rye and Leyla popping their heads around the corner of the sliding doors at the back of Izzie’s house. I motioned them to come in, quietely “I’m happy you both still got your clothes on, imagine what kind of awkward situation we would have been in now. I mean.... To me you are already Matt, Izzie’s boyfriend, but think about the First impression you would make to girls who are still just fans at this moment” Rye and Leyla couldn’t control their laughing anymore and Izzie shot around, looking at them.

“LEYLA!!! RYE!!! What are you doing here?” The three of them hugged. Leyla was the first to speak up “We are here to spend some time with you of course, but important things first” She walked towards Matt, putting her hand out “Okay, I already know who you are, but maybe it’s nice to introduce myself, I’m Leyla. You are the one that is making my friend happy?” Matt blushed, and then got his normal self back very quickly, shooting Leyla a dimpled smile “Yes, I hope so” He pulled Leyla into a hug and kissed her cheek. “Nice to have you here Leyla. And you must be Rye then?” Rye stepped forward, a little more shy than Leyla and put out her hand. Matt took it and then pulled her into a hug and kiss too. “Nice to meet you, Rye.” Matt put on his shoes and walked for the door “I’m going to leave you girls to it then. I will see you all at Brian’s in a few days” Izzie walked over to him and looked amazed “Did you know about this?”. Matt pulled her to his body, looking down on her “I did know about this, I hope you like your surprise” Izzie’s face was radiant “I love it, thank you” Matt bend down and kissed her deeply.

“Ahum” I scraped my throath. “I was going” Matt smiled “Bye girls, have fun”. As soon as he was out of the door Leyla and Rye started screaming “Oh. My. God. You seriously are in a relationship with M. Shadows!”

Soooo I got totally pumped after the Pinkpop show yesterday and could hardly sleep... Damnnnnn I'm sooooo tired right now! :(
