Alpha and Omega

Brian walks into his home. No Leana and Roxanne this time. They were back home, with Jimmy watching them. Brian gets into the kitchen when he heard a gun cocking. Brian, trembling with fear, slowly turns around. A man with medium brown hair and eyes with familiar facial features.
“You’re Ricki’s brother,” Brian murmurs, “William, right?”
“That’s correct,” William replies and cocks his shotgun again, “And you’re Brian Haner Jr. …thanks to you, my brother is dead.”
“I didn’t kill him,” Brian states, of course it didn’t mean Brian was going to roast his own husband.
“Val won’t let me kill the real killer,” said William, “but I’m going to do the next best thing… make his life miserable… butcher everyone that man ever loved… ever cared about. Starting with his little hubby. Then that whore toy Ricki played with. I heard one of his friends had a baby. I fillet the little brat in front of its parents and toss the strips, organs, and bones in their lap before I bleed them dry.”
Brian wanted to throw up after everything William said.
“On your knees,” William orders.
“Why?” Brian asks, “You’re gonna kill me anyway.”
“Do what I tell you,” said William, “and maybe I’ll let you say a few final words to the cockroach you married.”
Bottom lip quivering, Brian gets down on his knees.
“Hands behind your head,” William orders.
Brian does as he is told. William pulls out his cell phone from his pocket.
“Put him on the line,” William says into the phone.
William puts the phone to Brian’s ear.
“Hello?”
“M-Mattie?” Brian whimpers.
“Brian?” Matt asks, “Are you okay?”
“No,” Brian begins to sob, “Matt… Mattie, I’m sorry.”
Matt breaths start to quicken, “About what? What’s going on?”
“Ricki’s brother is out for revenge,” Brian explains.
“Baby I’m sorry,” Matt says, his voice breaking.
“It’s not your fault,” Brian sobs, “You did it to protect me… because you love me… just as much as I love you.”

A trigger is pulled.

“Brian? Brian!” Matt cries out.
There’s a dead body, but not Brian’s.
“Good thing I came when I did.”
Brian looks up, “Zacky!”
“What’s going on?” Matt says on the phone.
Brian picks up the phone he dropped at the gunshot.
“It’s okay,” Brian says, “Zacky’s here. He helped me.”
“Thank god,” said Matt, “or thank Zacky.”
“What’s going on?” Brian hears on the other line.
“Cry Matt,” Brian orders, “Pretend I’m dead.”
“Why?” Matt asks in shock.
“It’ll help me for when I save you,” said Brian, “Because I WILL find you… and save you. Val and her little gang will be stopped. We can be together again, and even start our own family.”
“Okay Brian,” Matt replies, “I believe in you Brian… and I love you.”
“I love you too,” Matt replies.
The call ends.

Brian drops the phone on the ground and stomps it into pieces.
“Thanks man,” said Brian.
“No problem,” Zacky replies, “He sent me a scare… a threat in blood on my wall. I figured he try to find you first.”
Brian nods, “Good thinking.”
“We will find Matt,” said Zacky, “Especially since Johnny says he’s got a hunch that he found that Falkner Olsen guy Jonah talked about.”

Val walks in the caged room with Matt curled in a ball, crying his eyes out.
“Looks like William got his revenge,” she murmurs.
“Ma’am,” said a man, “I think there was a battle to the death. William isn’t answering his phone.”
“Oh well,” Val replies, “William was disposable. Keep a watch on Matt… okay Falkner?”
