Alpha and Omega

Brian finished the dishes before he heard a knock at the door. Brian had a face full of confusion, “Dad? What are you doing here?” “Nice to see you too,” said Mr. Haner. “You just surprised me,” said Brian. “Why? Got a girl over huh?” asked Mr. Haner, “This I gotta see.” Mr. Haner stepped passed Brian. “Dad wait,” Brian said as he closed the door. “What?” asked Mr. Haner.
“Hey babe, I’m out of shampoo and…,” Matt, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist, comes from the bathroom, “oh… hey Mr. H. I’ll, uh, go get dressed.” As Matt disappears, Mr. Haner turns to Brian. “Well,” said Mr. Haner, “That’s one big chick.” “Dad!” Brian exclaimed, his cheeks flushed in bright red. “Now I know why you and Michelle didn’t work out,” said Mr. Haner, “Although I should have known, Michelle is quite the woman, for you to not be into that-” “I don’t think you came here to talk about my love life,” said Brian. “You’re right,” said Mr. Haner, “I came by to see if you would help me with a local tour. We would leave three days by now and get back by the end of the month. It’s not often I get to see you.” “I know dad,” said Brian. “Unless you wanna stay here with… ‘babe,’” said Mr. Haner. Brian rolled his eyes and let out a huff.
“I’m gonna take the dogs out!” Matt called. “Before you do Matt, can you come here for a minute?” asked Mr. Haner. Matt appeared into the kitchen. Oh my god Dad Brian thought to himself Please don’t ask any sex questions. For the love of god, please don’t. “You wouldn’t mind if Brian spent some time with his old man and help with a tour, would you?” Mr. Haner asked. Matt looked at Brian, who was just staring back, then back to Mr. Haner. “That’s fine,” said Matt. “Alrighty then,” said Mr. Haner, “I’ll pick you up in a few days Brian. See ya.” After Mr. Haner left, Matt went up to Brian. “Did you want to go or did I screw things up?” Matt asked. “No,” said Brian, “It’s fine. I’ll be back in time for your birthday… which by the way, you haven’t told me what you wanted.”
“You don’t have to get me anything,” said Matt. Brian crossed his arms, “Yes I do.” Matt shook his head, “No you don’t.” “I want to get you something,” said Brian. “Babe its okay,” Matt argued. Brian let out a huff. Matt brushed his chest against Brian’s back. He placed his hands on Brian’s hips and his chin on Brian’s shoulder. “You’ll be here for my birthday,” said Matt, “and that’s all I can really ask for.” “Geez Mattie,” Brian said as he rolls his eyes, “Your romantic side is showing again.”

“I’ll be coming back right on your birthday,” said Brian, “Make sure the dogs don’t tear up the house.” “We’ll be fine,” said Matt. A honk blew from the car horn outside. “I’ll call you whenever possible,” said Brian. Matt gave Brian a soft kiss, but Brian had other plans. Matt pulled away, “Your dad’s outside and I don’t think we have time for a quickie,” said Matt. Brian gave Matt a sad puppy pout. “I’ll see you when you get back,” said Matt, “I love you.” “I love you too Mattie,” said Brian.

*Time lapse*

Brian returns to his house to find it without another human. He did, however, find a note on his pillow on his side of the bed.

‘Come to Central Park. The gazebo with lights near the lake.’

Brian was extremely excited that he felt he had to look exquisite. Brian changed into a black button up shirt and baggy jeans. He made sure that each hair was in its perfect place and that not a drop of eyeliner was smudged. He made sure Pinkly and Bella had plenty of food and water before he left the house. Brian had so much adrenaline in his body that he just ran to the park. He made it to the slim yet tall white gazebo that had small white lights wrapped all over it. There was Matt standing in the middle of it. Even at nighttime he was wearing his trademark aviators. Matt wore a flannel shirt button up except for the top couple buttons, revealing part of his colorful angels tattoo. The denim pants Matt wore were another of Brian’s favorites, for the reason that they complement nicely to Matt’s firm buttocks.
“What’s all this about?” Brian asked. Matt smiled, “It’s a surprise.” “But its your birthday,” said Brian. “I’m quite aware of that,” said Matt. Matt moved Brian so he was facing the lake. Matt, with his body touching the back of Brian’s body, wrapped his arms around Brian’s waist. “This one time,” said Matt, “I met this guy… named Brian.” Brian smiled and kept listening. “As I spent time with him, I started having feelings for him and then before I knew it, I fell in love with him… and as I spent more and more time with him, I fell more and more in love with him. He’s my everything… he make me very happy without doing a thing… just simply existing in this world… in my world. In my spare time, I start to think… think about him and how I couldn’t see myself with anyone except for him. Brian… do you still want to give me something for my birthday?”
“Yes I do,” said Brian, “What do you want?” Matt chuckled as he removed his arms off of Brian’s body. “Mattie? What do you want?” Brian asked. Brian finally turned around to find Matt kneeling… on one knee… with a velvet box in his hands… opened to show a gleaming silver band. “Give me your hand in marriage,” said Matt. Brian’s jaw dropped, he was completely breathless. It took a moment for Brian to get voice box to work. “Oh my god Mattie,” said Brian, “Oh my god. Yes! I will!” Matt stood up and wrapped his arms around Brian. Tears filled both men’s eyes. Matt pulled away enough so he could lock his lips with Brian’s. After a long kiss, Matt took the bronze promise ring off Brian’s left ring finger and put on the silver engagement ring. Matt put the box in his pocket and then cupped Brian’s cheeks in his hands, “I love you Bri… very very much.” Brian smiled, “I love you very very much too Mattie.”
