Broken Pieces

Michelle's P.O.V.
After Brian told me he wanted a divorce I couldn't think of the most heartbreaking news to tell Claire when Brian and I returned home from Mexico splitting time up with our daughter is heartbreaking of course I wanted our family to stay together but Brian and I both knew that this was just an emotional rollercoaster that has to come to an end.

Brian began packing Claire's diaper bag and loading his truck with her inside Michelle stood behind the glass door watching Brian packing everything he owned into his truck he gave Michelle a nod and continued packing wedding photos into a box he was more than sad that he was leaving he was heartbroken but it was the best thing to do for their daughter and everyone else involved they both needed some time apart however long that was going to be divorce was never an option for them both but it had to be done and put to rest Brian was meeting his father and Suzy for family quality time and he enjoyed spending time with his father and being able to talk about anything with his father that father son time means so much to them both so Brian hoped that after meeting with an divorce attorney everything will go back to the way it was.

Michelle had looked around an empty house she and Brian had so many memories in that house it was so hard to let go of everything and just leave everything behind Michelle had no plans of meeting Brian with an divorce attorney but if Brian was just a little bit more clear about what he wanted from Michelle then it wouldn't have come to this conclusion.

Entering the divorce process was going to be a hard road for both Michelle and Brian everything seemed to be falling apart for them both but being in a toxic marriage wouldn't be healthy or benefiting either of them in the slightest Brian drove to his parents house when he suddenly got a flashback of him and Jimmy before he died.

Flashback
I watch scenes of Jimmy and I running through the park in Huntington Beach with 40oz bottles in our hands. I am drunk off my ass and Jimmy is chasing the ducks and screaming in the only way he knows how. I throw my head back laughing as I stumble with my bottle and cigarette after him. There is no way I'm going to let him have all the fun.

"Jimmy what the fuck are you doing?" I laugh, watching him run towards the water. Only he doesn't stop. Jimmy jumps into the air and is suddenly flying over the top of the water. My mouth drops open as he grows wings and transforms into a deathbat before my eyes.

Brian laughed at the thought of Jimmy running towards the water chasing the duck falling down laughing as if nothing transpired he really missed Jimmy and all the great times they've had together Jimmy would be ecstatic that he had a niece but also shocked that Brian was capable of making children.

Brian pulled up to his parents house cutting off the engine and grabbed Claire with his free arm McKenna was already outside with Pinkly she saw Brian struggling with Claire so she put Pinkly down and helped Brian carry Claire inside.

"Where's Michelle ?" McKenna asked

"She's still at home Brian replied

"She didn't want to come with you ?" McKenna asked

"Look McKenna it's complicated Brian replied

"Oh I see you guys are going through a rough patch aren't you ?" McKenna asked

"When you're old enough you will understand" Brian replied

Brian walked into his father's kitchen to see his father nowhere in sight he scratched his head and sat down on the couch next to Pinkly while McKenna held Claire he looked up at his sister giving her a stern look of disappointment.

"Why are you giving me that look ?" McKenna asked

"The reason why Michelle didn't come with me is because were not going through a rough patch were getting a divorce." Brian replied

McKenna gasped at her brother's words secretly she always hated Michelle and the way she treated Brian but she knew that Brian really loved her and he'd rather get hit by a semi truck than to see Michelle suffer in pain and agony.

Third Person
Michelle had watched as the movers continued packing up the rest of her and Brian's home Brian's words rang through her like a bullet she had no idea what to do next or come up with the money to afford a hotel for a few nights Matt and Val were busy with River and Michelle knew that Arin and Kim would busy preparing for their daughter so Michelle turned to the only person she'd thought she would never speak to again... Leana.

Brian sat and waited for his father to return from running errands sitting on the couch pondering at the thought of Michelle sitting inside of an empty house alone and crying her eyes out. Brian jumped up and grabbed his keys and ran to his truck.

"Where are you going ?" McKenna asked

"I'm going back home to check on Michelle" Brian replied

"Are you leaving Claire here for a couple of hours ?" McKenna asked

"Yes just keep an eye on her until I come back" Brian replied McKenna smiled and walked back into her father's house watching Claire interact with Pinkly on the floor she loved that Brian and Michelle made a gorgeous baby but couldn't imagine them ever getting a divorce.

Brian pulled up in the driveway and ran into an almost empty house he knew Michelle had to be around somewhere he needed to hash things out with her before it's too late Brian ran upstairs to their bedroom and frantically checked every inch of their bedroom searching for any sign of Michelle's belongings and he found nothing but a note sitting on their bed. The note read :
Dear Brian,
I know that I have caused you pain and distress with raising our daughter but what you said back in Mexico really broke me I couldn't stress that enough I'm staying at a hotel for a few nights and then I'm heading to my parent's house you can bring Claire by on Saturday afternoon I'm sorry I had to leave without telling you I hope you understand.

Brian couldn't believe what Michelle was saying he needed to find out which hotel she was staying at because the idea f Michelle going to an unknown location without checking in with someone Brian raced to his truck and began driving down to the hotel Brian drove until he stopped at a mystery hotel out in the middle of nowhere he walked up to the front desk and who he saw was not to be expected.
