14 years later

Brian’s Pov

“Babe?” Zacky called to me from the kitchen. I put down the T.V remote and walked to where he was standing over the stove.
“Yeah?” I asked wrapping my arm around him and kissing his cheek, swaying us side to side. I kissed his neck making him smile as my hands travelled to his hips.
“Johnny’s bringing Evanie over in like two minutes” He replied as I nibbled on his neck leaving a small mark. I sighed in disappointment, it was our anniversary and I kinda hoping that we could have some alone time but every else had other plans and we couldn’t do it with a 4 year old in the house. The front door opened and closed signalling Johnny was here.
“Hey guys!” He said walking into the room with a half asleep toddler in his arms.
“Daddy!” She squealed reaching out her arms trying to grab at Zacky.
“Hey baby” He said taking her out of Johnny’s arms and kissing her on the side of the head. I stood up walking over to her, taking her out of Zacky’s arms. She rested her head on my shoulder putting her thumb in her mouth and closing her eyes.
“Thanks man” Zacky said to Johnny as I held Evanie.
“No problem, sorry about not being able to take her” Johnny apologised.
“Don’t worry about it” I reassured him as he made his way to the door.
“Anyways I gotta go” Johnny waved pulling his car keys out of his pocket and shutting the door behind him.
“C’mon Baby we gotta take you to bed” I said kissing Evanie on the top of the head as she rubbed her eyes. “Wanna say goodnight to Daddy?” I asked her readjusting her on my hip. She nodded her head tiredly and I walked over to Zacky.
“Are you putting her to bed?” Zacky asked me and I nodded in response. Zacky took Evanie out of my arms and kissed her on the cheek hugging her close to him “Night baby” He whispered kissing her again. I watched him smiling. Zacky was so good with kids especially Evanie. Evanie had closed her eyes and began sucking her thumb and it looked like she wasn’t going to go anywhere.
“C’mon Evanie gotta go to bed now” I said going to pick her up. She shook her head violently and clung onto Zacky’s shirt.
“I guess I’m putting her to bed” Zacky chuckled.
“Guess so” I laughed. Zacky started to walk over to the stairs when I grabbed his arm making him stop.
“What?” He asked concerned.
“I love you” I said walking over to him and kissing him on the lips.
“I love you too” He smiled kissing me back.
“You can show me just how much when she’s asleep” I whispered in his ear, then walking over to the couch. Zacky rolled his eyes and walked up the stairs to put Evanie to bed. A few minutes later he came back downstairs and sat next to me on the couch.
“As much as I love Evanie I wish we could just have one night where we didn’t have to worry about her” Zacky stated resting his head on my shoulder.
“We could do it you know, if we were quiet” I suggested shrugging.
“That would never happen, you know what you do to me” Zacky said playing with my fingers like a kid. We sat in silence for a while when my phone rang from the kitchen. I stood up to answer it. As we got closer I saw the name flash on the screen “Mattie”
“Hey man” I said as I answered the phone.
“Hey Bri, How’s your anniversary going?” He asked me.
“It’s alright I guess” I said leaning against the counter.
“I was wondering do you still want me to look after Eva?” He questioned using his nickname for Evanie.
“Yeah!” I said relieved.
“Oh yeah and I booked you and Zacky a hotel cause you’ve been together for like 14 years and what not” Matt added “Anyways Bye!” he said hanging up the phone. I looked down at the phone stunned. God that man was weird. I walked back into the lounge where Zacky was stood smirking.
“So you knew all along?” I asked him sceptically.
“Nooo…” He replied acting like he had nothing to do with it.
“God, I love you” I said pushing him against the wall and kissing him passionately. After about a minute I pulled away panting.
“Happy Anniversary” He whispered leaning his forehead against mine. He kissed me again running his hands up and down my sides and the door knocked. I pulled away and went to open it when it flung open.
“Hey” Matt said walking into the hallway.
“Hey Matt” Me and Zacky said. I turned to Zacky in realisation.
“Dude I haven’t packed anything!” I said ready to run upstairs and pack.
“Don’t worry I did all that for you” Zacky said walking into the lounge and coming back with a small suitcase “Shall we?” He asked extending his hand so I could hold it. I nodded taking his hand and we walked out of the door towards the car.
“Bye!” Matt called from the door way.
“Later!” I called back climbing into the car. Zacky smiled over to me and pulled the car into reverse.
“Have I told you how much I fucking love you” I asked laughing.
“No but you can show me” Zacky smiled mischievously pulling out of the drive way. It wasn’t a very long drive to the hotel so I didn’t have to rip his shirt off and fuck him in the car. We walked into the hotel hand in hand. The receptionist gave us a weird look as we approached but we just ignored it. She gave us the key and we walked into the elevator, pushing the button for the 10th floor. All the time Zacky kept giving me weird looks making me laugh.
“What’s with the looks?” I said after a while.
“Nothing” He smiled sweetly as the elevator doors opened. We stepped and I followed him down the hall until we reached the very last room. Zacky slid the key into the lock and swung the door open. My eyes widened in shock as I looked around the room. It was HUGE! The walls were white and were covered in different paintings. In the centre of the room was a big four poster bed with deep red sheets and black pillows.
“You like it?” Zacky asked me.
“I love it!” I said my smile getting even wider. He hooked the “Do not disturb” sign on the door and winked at me.
“What do you wanna do know?” He asked walking closer to me and wrapping his arms around me. He kissed my cheek and made his way up to my ear.
“Show me how much you love me” He whispered huskily in my ear turning me on extremely.
“My pleasure” I said pushing Zacky onto the bed and climbing on top of him. I pulled off my shirt and then proceeded to tug his off too. I began kissing down his neck causing his breath to hitch in his throat. He pulled me down so our lips connected then flipped us over so he was on top. He unbuckled my pants throwing them on the floor.
“You ready?” He asked me. I nodded excitedly and he smirked.

My eyes fluttered open, the sun shining through the curtains making me squint. I looked down to see Zacky’s arm hooked over my stomach, his hair a black mess.
“Zacky” I said shaking him lightly
“Mhh?” He groaned sitting up and rubbing his eyes. He turned and looked at me a big smile on his face.
“What?” I asked him wondering why he was smiling so much.
“That was fun” He said laying back down and tracing the “Forever” tattoo on my chest.
“Yeah it was” I said stroking his hair and kissing the top of his head.
“We should probably get out of here before the complaints flood in” Zacky laughed sitting up again. I nodded getting up off the bed and walking to the suitcase. Half an hour later we were down at reception checking out.
“Thank you for staying with us, we hope you had a good time” The receptionist smiled.
“We did, thank you” I said making Zacky kick me before we walked away. We climbed into the car and as soon as the door slammed Zacky spoke
“Why the fuck would you say that?” He laughed.
“We had fun didn’t we?” I said pulling out of the parking lot.
“Yeah but you don’t have to tell everyone” He said hitting my arm lightly. I smirked and continued to drive as Zacky flicked on the radio. The opening chords to scream came on and I looked at Zacky smiling.
“Lily was right we are awesome as a band” Zacky said. We slowed down at a red light and sat there for a moment. The light turned green and I shifted the car into drive and it lurched forward again. That’s when it all went wrong.
“BRIAN, LOOK OUT!” Zacky shouted but it was too late. I felt a huge weight hit my side and all the air was knocked out of my lungs. Suddenly everything went black and the last thing I heard was Zacky.
“BRIAN! STAY WITH ME PLEASE!”

Zacky’s Pov

“BRIAN!” I screamed over and over until my throat was raw. “Brian please!” I sobbed hearing sirens in the distance. A few moments later a door slammed shut and I saw a pair of boot by my head.
“Sir we’re going to get you out of here just stay calm”
“Please help my husband please!” I pleaded but he just ignored me and proceeded to lift me out of the car. Another man placed me on a stretcher and I tried to get up.
“Sir you need to remain lying down you could be hurt” The paramedic instructed me but I wasn’t listening.
“BRIAN!” I called out to him again my voice croaking and my eyes streaming with tears. He was placed on a stretcher beside me and I reached out my hand grasping onto his. The ambulance started moving once again and I started to sing.
“You are my sunshine…
My only sunshine…” I sobbed “You make me happy
When skies are grey
You’ll never know dear
How much I love you
So please don’t take my sunshine away” I sang it over and over again the tears streaming down my face hoping, praying that Brian would make some sort of movement. The ambulance stopped and the doors opened. The paramedics around me were talking loudly but I didn’t concentrate on any of it. Me and Brian were pushed through the corridors of the hospital until we got to the end at which it turned left. Brian continued on and I was pushed into a separate room.
“Brian!” I called out “Where are they taking him!” I cried at the nurse.
“Sir they are taking him to surgery to see if there is any damage” She informed me calmly. I sobbed loudly as a group of doctor began to check me over for any injuries. When they were done I was wheeled into a private room and a nurse walked in.
“Sir do you have anyone we can contact?” She asked sympathetically placing her hand on my arm.
“Yeah, my friend Matt” I replied my voice cracking from all the crying. I told her his number and she nodded and left the room so she could call him.

-the next day-

I woke up to see Matt and Johnny sat next to my bed talking quietly their eyes were both red and puffy.
“Hey” Matt said trying to sound as cheery as possible.
“Where’s Brian?” I asked looking around for a nurse. As I said it Johnny burst into tear and a few trailed down Matt’s cheek.
“What? What happened? Where is he?” I asked my voice cracking hoping they wouldn’t say what I thought they were going to.
“Zacky” Matt said the tears now coming thick and fast. “He didn’t make it” That was the moment I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces.
“Of course he made it he’s Brian!”I said the pain in my chest becoming greater.
“Zacky, I’m sorry!” Matt cried.
“No he can’t of!” I cried out.
“ZACKY! HE DIDN’T MAKE IT!” Matt shouted. Johnny was now curled in a ball sobbing uncontrollably. I couldn’t control how much I was shaking and crying. The pain was unbearable. When I had calmed down slightly I turned to matt
“Where’s Evanie?” I sniffed rubbing my eyes.
“She’s with my mom” He choked out.
“Does she know what happened?” I asked. He shook his head and we fell back into silence. The rest of the day I spent cooped up in my room with Matt and Johnny. At 8pm they had to leave and I was on my own. The tears streamed down my face and I wished the pain would just end. I’d lost Jimmy and Brian. My whole world was crashing down around me. I thought of Evanie and the fact she would have to grow up without Brian which caused a wave of pain to travel through my body. I wanted to cry but I couldn’t. I didn’t have the strength to.

-The next week-

“Daddy!” I heard Evanie squeal as I shut the car door. I was a wreck I knew it. I had barely been eating and my clothes were hanging of my body loosely.
“Hey baby!” I said happy to see her again. She ran and jumped up; I caught her and held her close to my body.
“Where’s Daddy?” She asked looking over my shoulder for Brian.
“He’s with Uncle Jimmy now” I said putting her down and crouching so we were at eye level.
“Can you tell him to send me a postcard?” She asked excitedly. I felt my heart break a little more.
“Yeah baby, I will” I said hugging her close to me a few tears slipping down my cheeks.
