Thirty Two: Do you ever feel like your alone?
They wheeled her through the hospital quickly, I kept ahold of her hand and ran with the doctors, I didn’t care if I wasn’t supposed to be there, I was going with them no matter what. They took her into a room and someone started shouting.
“She’s waking up! Get the chief fast!” Riley made a gagging noise and started throwing up.
“Get her up she can’t choke!” A nurse grabbed her shoulders and lifted her limp body up as I stood there helplessly, tears streaming down my face.

Val and Michelle were here with me, I couldn’t bear to be on my own anymore and they had come to sit with me while I waited for Riley to wake up.
“Shh she’s waking up” Val said suddenly, I didn’t dare look up for fear that she wasn’t.
“Riley can you hear me?”
"Riley open your eyes” Michelle ordered. I sobbed quietly into my hands, trying to contain the grief that was threatening to swallow me up, but I just couldn’t do it.
“Riley calm down, they had to pump your stomach and the cuffs are so you… so you can’t hurt yourself again” Val said, there was more silence and then I felt someone stroking my hair, I looked up to see her looking at me, her expression full of sadness, I reached out and grabbed her hand, moving my chair nearer to the bed she was in. Val Michelle and Brian left then.
“Riley” I whispered, kissing her hand “Why?”
“You didn’t love me anymore” She croaked.
“What? No Riley no! I could never stop loving you” I looked down, trying not to let her see me cry. I failed.
“I love you” She said “I’m sorry”
“Don’t apologise Riley please just promise me you’re never gonna do this again, please Riley I love you, I almost lost you Riley” I stood up and kissed her forehead “Please” I whispered. She gripped the front of my shirt and sobbed.
“Don’t stop loving me… don’t”
“I won’t ever stop loving you I promise, until my heart stops beating Riley, I’ll always fucking love you”
“Zacky I’m sorry” She wailed “I though you didn’t love me anymore, I thought that you hated me and you didn’t love me”
“Shh shh Riley no, shh Riley no I’ll never stop loving you I promise you that”
“Please don’t” She whispered.
Just then the door opened and the doctor came in but she didn’t let go of me. He cleared his throat but I still didn’t let go.
“Miss Summers I came in to see how you were feeling”
“Shitty” she said “My stomach and my arms hurt and I feel like I wanna puke all the time”
“Okay, that’s normal after what you’ve been through”
“Yeah well I just wanna sleep now”
“That’s okay, we were going to give you something to help you sleep” He said handing the nurse something.
“I can sleep just fine on my own”
“On the contrary this will help you sleep much better” He said. Riley rolled her eyes, she always hated being told what to do. The nurse fiddled with the IV, I glared at it, Riley patted the bed, so I kicked off my shoes and climbed up onto the bed with her, pulling her against my chest.
“I love you Zacky” She said, her eyelids starting to droop.
“I love you too Riley”
