Fake Reflection

Epilogue

Kimmie wiped away the fog over the mirror as she brushed her teeth, catching a glimpse of Matt's silhouette behind her. She lightly bit down on her toothbrush as she glanced over her shoulder, and watched him as he washed behind the fogged over shower doors. She gripped tightly to the edge of the sink, and squeezed her legs together as she turned away. Just knowing that he was naked in the same room could get her going, but her hormones have been all over the place. Kimmie quickly finished with her teeth, and soon she heard the shower shut off. If she wasn't pregnant, and about to pop, she'd be in there with him.

A smile came out across Kimmie's face when she felt Matt's hands slide around her towel covered belly, and pulled her back against his chest. "How we feeling today, mommy?" he asked as he rubbed gentle circles on her protruding belly. Kimmie let out a small sigh, resting against him as he held her close. She looked up at him with a smile, and went to reply before a sharp pain ripped through her abdomen. Matt released her, his eyes widening with concern, when her face contorted in pain, and she hunched over, gripping the sink. "Are you okay? Is the baby okay? Are you in labor? Oh my God did your water break?" Matt started to panic.

Kimmie looked at his worried face, and couldn't hold back her smile as she finished breathing through the pain. "Relax, daddy," she said grinning at him through the mirror before turning to face him, "The last one was ten minutes ago. We have time." she said watching his worry fade, and a smile come out. "But they're regular?" he asked as his eyes started to dance with excitement. Kimmie nodded, and Matt's dimples got deeper. She woke up to pain, but they have been too far apart to cause any alarm yet. "We're going to have a baby today." he said kind of excited, grabbing her hands and kissing the knuckles on both. "Maybe." she whispered with a small smile, pulling their hands away from his lips, so those lips could touch hers.

Kimmie gazed into Matt's hazel orbs when their lips parted with nothing but pure love and happiness in her own. "I love you." she whispered. "I love you too," he said resting his hands on both sides of her tummy, "Both of you." he said kneeling, and placing a soft kiss on part of her stomach that the towel couldn't quite cover. Kimmie smiled down at him, and ran her fingers through his hair. Sometimes it still amazed her that he was hers, and now she was going to have their baby.

Another sharp pain shot through her, and she braced herself on Matt's shoulders. His eyes widened once again as he held her until the contraction faded. "I thought you said we had time?" he asked, the concern back in his voice. "Guess I was wrong." Kimmie panted out. That was nowhere near ten minutes. Before she knew what was happening, Matt had her up in his arms, and was carrying her into the bedroom.

Kimmie sat on the bed with a small smile as she watched Matt rush around to throw on some shorts, and grab a long night shirt for her. They would just be going downstairs. He rid her of her towel, and pulled the shirt over her head just before another contraction hit her. He wasted no time once it passed, and scooped her back up again before rushing out the door. "You passed the stairs." Kimmie said when he continued down the hall as she held on, praying he wouldn't drop her. She was very capable of walking on her own, but she knew it was pointless to argue with him to let her down.

Matt didn't respond to her, but with a smile before stopping and turning his back to another bedroom door. "Johnny!" he yelled, stomping on the door with his foot, "Wake the fuck up, I'm having a baby!" he yelled through the door when he turned to face it. "Don't you me Kimmie's having a baby?" a half asleep Johnny opened the door, rubbing his eyes. Kimmie giggled, bringing a smile out on Matt's face. "You knew what I meant. Hurry the fuck up, and get dressed," Matt replied before turning away from him, "We'll meet you downstairs!" he called over his shoulder as he rushed to the stairs.

Matt ran as carefully as he could down the stairs, and stopped when he felt Kimmie's nails start to dig into the skin around his neck. "Oh God, don't move." she groaned out, squeezing her eyes shut. Matt stood frozen, not daring to move a muscle until she told him. Kimmie let out a few breaths, and he soon felt her relax a little. "Good?" he asked looking down at her. "Yeah." she said with a slight nod. He made a bee line for the infirmary, and kicked open the door. He set Kimmie down on the bed, Johnny already had prepared for this before rushing over by the door to turn the lights on.

Matt joined Kimmie's side, by the bed, and grabbed her hand. "You ready for this?" he asked with happiness, and excitement swirling in his eyes. "No." she said with a nervous smile. "Don't worry," Matt said, bringing her hand up to his lips, "I'll be right here with you." he said placing a kiss on the back of her hand. Kimmie smiled, and laid back the rest of the way. It was comforting to know he would be right there. There wasn't really any doubt that he wouldn't, but it was reassuring to hear it. She's been trying to prepare herself for this, but the nerves have been building since she found out. A day she'll never forget. The same day she became Mrs. Sanders....

And Queue Flashback:
"You have got the pretties eyes." Kelly sighed out as she finished up Kimmie's make up. "Thank you." she told her with a smile. A smile that quickly vanished when she felt her stomach start to churn. Kimmie jumped from her chair, and ran to the bathroom, dumping the contents of her stomach into the toilet for the third time today. "You alright?" Tammy asked leaning against the door frame to the bathroom. "Yeah, I think it's just nerves." Kimmie said pushing herself up off the floor, and flushing.

Tammy smirked and cocked a brow at her, "You sure?" she asked as Kimmie rinsed her mouth out. "Well I don't have a fever." she said, looking at her confused through the mirror. "Don't think it could be something else?" Tammy continued to hint around. "Like what?" she asked facing her Maid of Honor. "Well you've been in here twice since we started getting ready, and didn't you mention something about getting sick when you woke up today?"

Kimmie nodded still a little confused before it finally hit her. "Oh God." she said as her eyes went wide. Tammy grinned, "There you go." she said once Kimmie caught on. "You don't think I could be..." Kimmie trailed off as she tried to let it sink in. "Ima go get Johnny. I'll be right back." Tammy told her before disappearing from the doorway. Kimmie just nodded slightly, not being able to respond as her hands subconsciously went to rest on her stomach. Could she really be pregnant?

Tammy left hers and Brian's room, where they were getting ready, and made her way downstairs. She walked down the hall to the game room where the guys were suppose to be getting ready. "Is everyone decent?" she yelled, pounding on the door. "Gates is sucking my cock!" she heard Jimmy from the other side. Tammy chuckled as she opened the door. "Can I take pictures?" she asked walking in earning a few of her own chuckles. "Sure thing, Sweet cheeks." Jimmy winked at her. "There will be no pictures." Brian spoke up. "But the blow job's a go?" Jimmy asked, and Brian's eyes widened. "What!? No!" he said giving Jimmy a shove, not being able to hold back his smile as the other man laughed.

Brian's smile got wider as Tammy walked over to him, but frowned when he only got a quick peck in passing. "What the hell?" he asked as she walked towards Johnny. "Sorry baby, I'm here for the little one." she smirked grabbing Johnny's arm, and pulling him up. "Hey." he said a little offended. Tammy just grinned at him as she drug him to the door. "What the hell do you need short-shit for?" Brian asked before they could reach the door. "His PHD." she said, not stopping until Matt's voice broke out. "Is everything okay?" he asked kind of worried, "Is Kimmie sick? Is she hurt?" he asked a little panicked. "Relax, everything's fine." she told him. "Are you sure?" he pressed. He knew she threw up this morning. "Yes, Matt chill. I promise your blushing bride will be at the alter." she told him.

Matt relaxed a little, and gave her a nod before letting her drag Johnny out of the room. She drug him into the infirmary across the hall, and he looked at her confused. "Kimmie needs a pregnancy test." she told him watching the realization wash his face. "I'm assuming we're keeping this from Matt for now?" he asked as he grabbed the stuff he needed for the test. "For now." Tammy told him as they left the infirmary. "And when he has me pinned against the wall, trying to beat it out of me?" he questioned with a cocked brow, and a small smirk.

Tammy giggled as they started up the stairs. "Just tell him her nerves were getting to her, and needed something to settle her stomach." she told him. "Alright." he said a little unsure. "If that doesn't work, you could always pull the doctor/patient confidentially card." she said as they walked down the hall. "Yeah, cause that'll work." Johnny sarcastically replied when she opened the bedroom door. Tammy giggled again as she peeked in to make sure the girls were decent before letting him in. "It could. You never know." she said when they walked in. "Or it could get me killed." he replied. "That too," Tammy grinned at him, "Never know till you try."

Johnny chuckled, and shook his head. "Morning ladies," he greeted Steph and Kelly, "You both look stunning." he complimented earning wide smiles. "What about meeee?" Lilly came running up to him. "Well you're the prettiest one of them all." he told her as she twirled in her white and pink dress. Lilly grinned wide, and he pinched her cheek before looking around the room. "Where's Kimmie?" he asked. "She's back in there." Steph said pointing to the bathroom. "Kimmie doesn't feel good." Lilly told him with a small frown, grabbing his hand, and walking him to the bathroom. "That's what I hear." he said. "Are you going to help her?" she asked. "I'm gonna try." he told her.

Lilly grinned again before knocking on the bathroom door. "Kimmie, Uncle Johnny's here." she called through the door, letting go of Johnny's hand, and skipping away. Kimmie cracked the door open, and he gave her a sympathetic smile as he held out an empty cup. "Just leave it in there when you're done." he told her as she took it from his hand. She gave him a nod, and shut the door without a word. Johnny stood outside, a little awkward, before Kimmie emerged a few moments later. Johnny took her place, and she looked to Tammy with a little worry. How was Matt going to take this? "Lets get you into that dress." Tammy suggested, trying to get her mind off it.

Kimmie ran her hands down the white dress as she gazed at her reflection in the mirror, making sure everything was perfect. She sa2w Johnny come out of the bathroom in the mirror, and turned anxiously around. His expression didn't give anything away, and her heart started to race. "It's a yes." he said a small smile coming out. Kimmie stood there in shock for a moment as she let the news sink in. Her hand went to her stomach again, and smile started to make it's way out. She was scared yes, but happy at the same time, excited, and worried. She just hoped Matt would take it well.

"Sooo, are we happy?" Tammy snapped her out of her daze with a curious grin. Kimmie's smile got wider. "Yes, we're happy." she confirmed before Tammy almost knocked her over with a hug. "Yaaay I wanted to be happy." she said. Kimmie chuckled, returning the hug. "When are you going to tell Matt?" Tammy asked after they broke apart. "I don't know. Sometime after the ceremony." Kimmie shrugged. "Speaking of that," Johnny spoke up, "It's about time. I should get back down there before Matt hunts me down," he said with a smirk, "I won't say anything, but I will haunt you if he murders me." he added, hearing giggles as he left.

Tammy handed Kimmie her bouquet before walking over to the bedside table, and grabbing a small container of mints, stashing them in her own bouquet. A knock sounded on the door, and Lilly opened it to reveal Richard in full dress uniform. "Well don't you look beautiful." he smiled down at her as he stepped in. "Thank you." she said, twirling again. "Kimmie, you look absolutely amazing." he said walking over to her, and holding out his arm. "Thank you," she said, hooking her arm with his, "And thanks again for walking me down the isle." she added. "It's an honor, sweetheart." he told her as they all made their way out of the room.

Richard knew she would have loved nothing more than to have her father walk her down, but he was the closest thing she had to that anymore. There was no way he was going to tell her no when she asked. It didn't take him to long to come to terms with hers and Matt's relationship. He was already trying to come around to the idea when things went down with Boyd, and he became more sure of the kind of man he was when he didn't let her quit her job. Richard knew it was a decision she would have eventually regretted, and Matt earn some major respect from him when he stopped her.

Tammy stopped in the kitchen, and grabbed a bottle of water from the refrigerator, keeping it hidden behind her bouquet before the girls joined the guys at the backdoor. Zacky would be walking down with Steph, Johnny with Kelly, and Brian with Tammy. The Berry's were ushering guest, and Matt and Jimmy were already waiting at the alter. Jimmy had himself ordained a long time ago, and couldn't wait to marry another one of his brothers.

Lilly has been bouncing off the walls since she found out she got to be the flower girl. She was walking down with Kimmie's youngest nephew. It didn't take long for Matt to win over her brothers. Shane, and Richard had managed to keep them from going over to Kimmie's house the night of the award ceremony, but they were there first thing in the morning. Kimmie sat in total embarrassment that was steadily growing into anger as they put Matt through the worst interrogation he's ever had in his life. She was a grown woman, and didn't need her brothers butting in. Of course Matt being the confident leader he is, handled their questions with smooth, graceful, honesty, and it wasn't even afternoon before they were out of questions, and laughing with him.

The Berry's opened the giant French doors leading to the decorated backyard as the ceremony began. Kimmie took a deep breath from her spot in the back of the line, trying to settle her nerves. It wasn't the wedding itself that made her nervous. She couldn't be happier, or more excited to be marrying the man she loved. It was this nausea that liked to creep up out of nowhere. She just hoped it would stay away at least till after the kiss.

The guest started rise as Richard escorted Kimmie down the isle. Matt stood at the alter in awe at his beautiful bride to be. She almost seemed to be glowing, and he didn't even want to try to pull his gaze away. Kimmie's smile never faded as she walked down the isle to the man she was more than prepared to spend the rest of her life with. "Cool if my boy shacks up with your girl?" Jimmy asked Richard with a smirk. "Jimmy." Matt chuckled with a shake of his head. "What? He's gotta give her away." he said. "It's cool dude." Richard said playing along. "See it's cool." Jimmy grinned.

Richard gave Kimmie a peck on the cheek before taking his seat next to Shane. Matt had considered giving him an actual job, but decided he liked the idea of him being out there on the job with Kimmie better. He trusted him, and knew he would do what it took to make sure she was as safe as possible. Kimmie handed her bouquet off to Tammy, and Matt took her hands in his. "You look absolutely breath taking." he whispered before kissing the knuckles on her hands. "Thank you." she said feeling her cheeks heat up, watching a wide smile come out on Matt's face. He loved that he could still make her blush.

Matt gave Jimmy a nod to start, "Dearly beloved and slightly tolerated," he started, a few chuckles emitting, "Talking about you, McNicholes," he joked at the Governor. He was in his first term, and doing right by the state. Kevin and Matt aren't the best of friends, but they have managed to build a strong business relationship, and the tension has subsided "No surprise there." Kevin chuckled. "Jimmy." Matt said trying to get him back to the task at hand. "Oh right," he said like he forgot what he was doing, "We are gathered here today to join to kids from opposite sides of the tracks..."

Jimmy's voice started to fade as the very thing Kimmie was hoping wouldn't happen started to creep up again. She tried to fight it, but she was loosing. Matt furrowed his brow when her face paled, and his eyes went wide when she dropped his hands, and pushed past Jimmy. She ran behind some flower arrangements, and couldn't stop it any longer. Matt wanted to go after her, but Tammy stopped. "She's not going to want you to see that." she said. "I don't care." he told her. He didn't, he just wanted to make sure she was alright. "She does." Tammy told him, and he sighed in defeat before letting Tammy join her behind the flowers.

Kimmie felt someone pull her hair and veil back as she emptied her stomach once again. She could tell by the shoes who it was, and was thankful it wasn't Matt. Kimmie straitened herself out once it passed, and grabbed the bottle of water Tammy was holding out to her. She rinsed her mouth out, and took a few drinks. Now her breath was going to smell like vomit. Kimmie grinned when she heard the shake of a mint tin. "I knew there was a reason I made you my Maid of Honor." she said taking the mints from her, and popping a couple in her mouth. "That awesome bachelorette party I threw wasn't proof enough?" Tammy asked with a grin.

Kimmie chuckled a little. Matt tried saying no strippers, but Jimmy stepped in on that. He knew they couldn't have any either if the girls couldn't. "You're right. What was I thinking?" she before downing the last of the water. "Sometimes I wonder," Tammy said as the two stepped out from behind the flowers, "But I'm thinking," she continued, catching the look on Matt's face, "That you're not going to be able to wait until after the ceremony." Kimmie followed Tammy's gaze to Matt's worried face, and let out a sight knowing that she was probably right.

"Good to go?" Jimmy asked once Kimmie had returned to her spot in front of Matt. She gave him a nod hoping that Matt would just let them continue. Wishful thinking, "No we are not good to go," he said grabbing Kimmie's hands, "If you're not feeling well, we can hold this off till you are." he suggested. "No, Matt I'm fine really." she tried to reassure him. "Obviously you're not if you're getting sick behind the flowers," he continued to press, "And I know it's not just nerves." he added, slightly over his shoulder at Johnny.

Kimmie looked down, and let out another sigh. "Tell me what's wrong." Matt said softly when their eyes met again. She pulled his hands down to her stomach, and rested them there. "I'm pregnant." she told him. Matt's mouth dropped, and the shock washed his face as he stared at where his hands were resting. The people around were silent as everyone awaited Matt's reaction to the news. After a few moments of him not saying anything, Kimmie started to get nervous. "Matt," she said, and his eyes snapped to hers, "Are you okay? You're not mad are you?" Matt blinked a few times before looking at her like she was crazy. "My baby is having my baby," he said pulling her into him, "I couldn't be happier." he told her before crashing his lips to hers. "Hey! I didn't say you could kiss the bride!" Jimmy tried to get them to stop before tossing the papers that had everything he was going to say written on them up in the air when they didn't pull apart.....

And End Flashback

Kimmie collapsed against the bed panting, and exhausted. "It's a boy!" she head Johnny say excited. Matt pushed the wet hair off Kimmie's forehead before pressing his lips to it. "You did great baby." he whispered. She let a tired smile come out, and closed her eyes as she tried to regain some strength. Her eyes fluttered open when Matt let go of her hand for the first time since they got to the infirmary. Johnny placed the little wrapped up bundle in Kimmie's arms, and she felt tears forming at the overwhelming happiness that she had flowing through her. "Hey there little guy." she whispered, pushing some of the blanket away to get a better look at him.

A small hand wrapped around her finger, and Kimmie smiled wide before looking to Matt. His dimples were deep as he looked down at the little boy with nothing but pride and joy in his eyes. "I think daddy wants to hold you." she smiled down at the baby. Kimmie grinned at the excitement in his eyes as he took the little boy from her. He stared in awe at the son he helped create, so small in his arms. "You guys come up with a name yet?" Johnny asked. Kimmie looked to Matt with a smile, "I was thinking we could name him after his daddy." she said reaching over and resting her hand on his arm.

Matt smiled at the idea, but he had one of his own. "I was thinking we could name him after his granddaddy." he said, watching Kimmie's smile get wider. "How about both?" she suggested. Matt nodded, liking the idea. "What do you think little guy?" he asked looking down at the bundle, "You like Phillip Matthew?" The baby smiled, and Matt's eyes lit up. "He smiled." he knew it was probably gas making him smile, but he was going to take it as a yes. "You know Jimmy's going to be upset you didn't name him after him." Johnny said. "Maybe next time." Matt said winking at Kimmie. "Oh no," she said, not being able to hold back her smile, "We are not doing this again for awhile."

With that, Kimmie shut her eyes. She was exhausted, but happy. Sometimes she still couldn't believe that things worked out, but she was glad that they did. She had the love of her life, and now a beautiful baby boy. She gained a new family that meshed well with her old. Everything was perfect, and before she knew it, she drifted off to sleep.
