Erin’s P.O.V
Hannah had been preparing for days for her music class and I had snuck all the way into the back of the auditorium to check out what she had come up with and afterwards she had hugged Jimmy and then ran over to the guys since they had strayed into the area… her song was beautiful and I so badly wanted to go and give her love… but I just couldn’t bring myself to get up.
“Hiding from your sister now” I heard someone say… it was Tori, I looked over and half smiled at her.
“We have been in a huge rut the past couple of days… and I kinda feel like I am struggling now to embrace the witch side” I said just letting this flow out of me… I was a very direct girl but when it came to feeling in front of people it wasn’t my strong suit… but Tori was a good listener.
“Don’t be afraid Erin… because that is what causes the downfall.. he wants you to lose grip and lose control of everything because that makes you vulnerable… and I don’t think you want that” She said.
“When did you become so smart huh” I said smiling and laughing little and she giggled but she seemed super serious about this stuff.
“Erin be serious… this witch hunter is really set on you two and I can sense that something bad is coming with him… we probably haven’t seen the worst of this yet and I have to ask… because I may have overheard Zack talking about you asking him if a vase was broken… wanna share?” She asked and I just clenched my fists tightly and then relaxed knowing Hannah could see if I shot up in my seat.
“It’s hard to explain” I said to her and she leaned in.
“I’ve got time E.. come on just try and get it out it may help” She said pushing it a little but I guess at least getting something out would be better.
“He was messing with the white rose in the vase in Hannah’s living room… everything was white but the vase was intact… yet some pieces were slivered out… he has been invading my head and showing me things that I never wanted to imagine happening…” I said to her and she was right I did feel a little better talking about it… I wanted to talk to Hannah but she was in such a fragile state that I knew she would just break down.
“You mean like while you are awake or sleeping?” She asked trying to piece together the facts… according to Hannah she was the go to girl for this stuff so maybe we could work something out.
“He invades my sight gift but the other night… after Zack left his bandana… he was in my dream and it all felt so fucking real and sooo just fucking crazy… and I just couldn’t handle it and it was overwhelming but he has a way of locking me into my own head” I said to her rubbing my lip gently.
“I know that you two don’t have full control over what is going on with your powers… but if you harden your mind… I think you can block him out and try to get the upper hand on him” She said and I was trying to process this but just like Hannah I was nearly at my breaking point.
“Well apparently our moms couldn’t so what makes you think that the two of us are gonna be able to stop this” I said not caring if anyone saw me and I stormed up the steps and out the door letting it slam shut behind me. I ran out and sat in my car just trying to breathe and keep calm when I looked over Sebastian was sitting in the passenger seat.
“Looks like your friend is on to something… I don’t think you want her to get hurt as well Erin so I suggest you don’t come to her for help anymore” He said calmly like usual… he was very composed and proper in this whole thing.
“You don’t get to tell me what I can and cannot do” I said gripping my steering wheel tightly.
“Little Erin is trying to push me out, but I can tell you right now you don’t have the guts or the strength to do it, you are too broken up from the recent activity” He said and I felt a single tear slip from my left eye. He was silent for a moment and I just rested my head on the car seat.
“I noticed that Hannah’s body… oh how it feel so much like her mother’s… your mothers got so close to figuring everything out… It was fate that I was going to take Hannah’s mother by my side and strip her of any black magic… she was going to be my queen but your mother convinced her otherwise…” He said straying to a very dark side of him and his voice had lowered and he was scowling.
“What my mother did was not my fault” I said and he said nothing he just turned his slightly and I turned mine to see what he was staring at and I saw Zack, Jimmy and Hannah out of the corner of my eye and I looked forward and took a deep breath.
“They are gonna come for you in a minute so I must be brief… if you mess up my plans with Hannah… I will make sure that you suffer” Sebastian said and just as my heart started to race and I began to cry he disappeared from my car and I sat there unable to let go of my steering wheel and suddenly before any of them reached my car I heard Sebastian’s voice whispering in my mind.
And you better keep that psychic bitch out of this… things could be easier if you just let go… and it once again dissipated. I was a little out of it but Zack pulled open my door and pulled me into his chest rubbing my long blonde and purple strands of hair…
“You tell me right now what the fuck that bastard said to you!” Hannah said pulling me roughly by the arm from Zack’s hug and I just stood there trying to bring myself to tell her really just how big this mess was getting.
“You sounded just like your mom… you got her set of lungs… the song was the most amazing thing I have ever heard” I said to her trying to change the subject and I knew that she was still emotional from the performance and she leaned in hugging me tightly for a moment and I just felt that the closer Hannah and I were the better things were. She pulled back and my hand locked with Zack’s and Jimmy bumped past us for a moment.
“Who the hell is that?” He blurted out looking in the distance and my gaze slowly went from the ground and veered up to the tall, slender man that stood in the distance… he was about six feet tall and his eyes were a deep brown that could almost be black, he smiled and Hannah but her hand on my back motioning for me to get in my car.
“We should go now E” She said to me and I broke from the stare and I got in with Hannah and drove back to my house with Hannah and was relieved to see that my father was home.
“Hello ladies!” He called from the kitchen and we both waved and were about to run upstairs but he stopped us.
“Hannah your father dropped a package off for you since he knew you would be here, Erin looks like you got one too, I hope it’s the stuff for the masquerade bash, that’s tomorrow night” He said… and this was the first time I was hearing about it at all.
“What masquerade bash?” I asked him opening the pieces of the package as Hannah opened hers on the couch and inside there was this black dress that was gorgeous yet a little revealing and it had a black mask that was simple yet made statement.
“I don’t remember you telling me anything about a party coming up dad” I said to him looking at Hannah and then back to him.
“It was a last minute business thing… I was talking with Hannah’s dad about it and we figured that it would be cool for you to invite your dates to and have them hangout and have fun… just be there at 6:30 tomorrow” My dad said grabbing his tea and paperwork and going up to bed. I sat down on the couch inspecting the dress and then looked at Hannah.
“Guess we are going to a party… although I don’t like that my dad barely remembers this on his schedule” I said… something was off…
