Coincidence (A Synacky)

(6:28 am.)
It's been four hours.
Four. Hours. Since Brian called me from the bar and told me about Matt.
As soon as I saw his number flashing on my cell, I knew something had happened. I'd been expecting it.
I knew that bastard was going to do something. I hadn't expected him to poison Matt though.
Right now, I'm curled up in a chair, sitting in the waiting room, Brian stroking my back. Valary's in the operating room with Matt and the doctors. The poor woman was completely in tears when I told her. She left River (their son) with her sister Michelle and rushed over with Johnny and Arin as fast as she could.
The doctors haven't told us what's wrong with Matt yet. And honestly, I'm scared shitless. What if he...?
No.
I can't even start thinking like that.
We lost Jimmy only just a few years ago. We're still getting used to the empty feeling we all have.
But still...
If Matt does go away...
I looked over at Brian.
He was so heartbroken when Jimmy passed. He almost didn't make it himself. He drank himself into a stupor. I'm lucky to have him now. If Matt passed...oh god.
I sobbed a little too loudly, and Brian turned to me immediately.
"Please don't cry. He'll be fine, I...I know it. He's strong."
I heard his words.
But the tears in his eyes spoke louder than his voice.
"Yeah...you're right..."
I felt my cell vibrate.
"Baby, I'm going to the bathroom quick. If the doctor comes, come get me right away."
I ran quickly to the restroom before he could offer to walk me there.
I walked into the nearest available stall and locked it before answering the dreaded call.
I didn't even have to speak. The menacing laughter was already coming through the speakers.
"What did I tell you? I told you that you were gonna regret it."
"You're sick." I growled, filled with a familiar rage.
"That's your opinion. You better watch what you say, boy. I might hurt another one of your beloved friends."
I was quiet after that.
"Now listen. I'm gonna give you another chance. You already have your wonderful boyfriend wrapped around your finger. And this is a good thing. A very good thing. Now, in the mail tomorrow, you are gonna receive a package, as well as another phone call from me. Make sure you are the only one that sees the package. Don't open it. The phone call will have instructions for you to follow. You will follow them. Or I will kill my next victim."
"What's the whole point of this? What do you want?"
This seemed to anger them, because I heard a rage-filled growl, and glass shatter.
"I HAVE MY REASONS. YOU DON'T ASK THE QUESTIONS HERE, REMEMBER?"
I heard an exasperated sigh.
"You will hear from me tomorrow." Click.
They had hung up. And just in time.
I heard Brian burst through the restroom door. "Zacky?"
"Yeah?"
"The doctor's here."
I ran out of the stall, grabbed his hand, and we ran back to the waiting room.
The doctor looked like he had been waiting for us. We took a seat.
"Now that you're all here..."
"What's wrong with him?! Stop stalling!"
"Val, calm down..."
"Ssshh!"
We all pitched in, eventually calming down poor Val. The doctor seemed to be getting impatient.
"We have identified the poison. Unfortunately, it isn't very easy to treat Mr. Sanders. This poison is usually absorbed through the skin, but somehow, he ingested it, causing it to react much more quickly. We have cleansed his system, and will continue to do so until he is clean, but...there is no guarantee that he will recover."
"What the fuck did he drink?"
The doctor took a deep breath.
"Pothos. Devil's Ivy."

Lol anyways, I bought another laptop. I'm excited about this story again. XD
So...any ideas about who this mysterious person might be?
Think about it! It might just appear out of nowhere. ;D
