"Look who it is! The man of the hour! The person who has gone to Hell and back!" "Oh, Johnny my man, you're too kind." 'Twas the greeting I received as soon as I walked into the bar. Everyone knew me here.
Then again, who doesn't?
I walked up to the counter and claimed one of the seats, sitting next to Matt. "What do you have for me, Shadz?"
He immediately turned and smiled, the light in his eyes glistening with child-like excitment.
"Alright, you know how we've been wanting to make a classic album with a kind of a blues feel to it?Well Larry FINALLY agreed. He says it's just what this generation of new-folk needs. Some classy INSPIRATION. Just like how 'The Black Album' was like to us. And I've already written the first song..."
He reached around him for a piece of paper. "Sheperd Of Fire."
"That's fucking awesome, dude! Ah, yes finally. We've been wanting to do this forever. I have a good feeling about this." I sighed, already thinking up in my head different guitar rhythms and techniques I would try out on this album.
"Mr. Gates?"
I turned towards the new voice coming from the counter. "Yes?"
The young man behind the counter did a sort of mini-bow. "I'll be your bartender for you and Mr. Shadows as well tonight. Can I get you anything?"
Shadows gave him a once over. "Yeah...we'll have a bottle of Jack Daniels and four shot glasses please."
"Of course sir." he left to get our drink and glasses.
"I didn't know you added staff, Johnny!" I chuckled.
"I kinda had to, man. You and your boys have made this place quite popular. I gotta thank you for that!" The cheery man laughed back as the boy came back with our things.
"Thanks, son." Matt said, pouring whiskey into the glasses and pushing two towards me.
"Celebrating, are we?"
"Hell yeah, man. We survived something that could've easily ended us."
"Yeah...how's the shoulder?"
He pulled back his sleeve, showing me the scar left on his skin. "We could've died."
I poured myself two more shots and threw them back at once, the sting in the back of my throat somewhat satisfying. "Yeah...I'm still surprised."
"How're you and Zacky?" he asked, eyeing me and having another shot.
"We're good. Amazing, actually. I feel complete around him. But, I feel like he's been, I dunno..."
"Shady?"
"Yeah...you've noticed it too?"
"Yeah. It's like he's always on the lookout."
"I dunno, maybe it's just because of what happened, ya know?"
Shot after shot, we eventually got through the whole damn bottle (and half of another).
"Heymannnn...we shud go get a fuggin taxi or summat...we gotta go home..." I ended up slurring.
The bartender walked towards us, "Actually, maybe you should try a blend I just made. You see, I'm a huge Avenged fan, and I've been trying out different things that I could name after one of your songs or something-"
"Well bring it over, boy!" Matt slurred happily.
"Are you sure you can handle another drink, man?"
"Of course, bro! Nnnd so can you! Or aren't you-" he leaned in close to my face- "METAL ENOUGH?"
I smirked.
The boy came over and place two glasses filled with a murky-white substance. "Here ya go!"
We threw them back, and immediately I could taste the alcohol. I coughed a bit.
"Dammit, whazzit called?"
He smiled.
"Afterlife."
I turned to Matt just as he fell off his seat, foaming at the mouth.

So, I finally got access to a computer, and LET ME TELL YOU, MY LIFE HAS GONE TO THE SHITTER.
BUT, I think things are finally getting a bit better, and so I finally got to update.
