Right Where I Belong

Jimmy’s POV

I stood under the shower and was thinking about what I should wear, something casual or more like this Tyler guy… Suit and tie?

Shit, I decided to make a mix from casual and chic.
I just hoped that Elise would appreciate my thoughtfulness in choosing my outfit.
I got dressed and looked at my reflection of the mirror. I was satisfied with myself.



I looked at my phone and saw it was already 6 and I knew Zack was back from the city and he said something about leaving earlier. I totally agreed on leaving earlier, the sooner we left the sooner I would finally see Elise again.
I thought about writing her a message yesterday, okay and today as well but I didn’t do it. I didn’t know what to write and I would see her today that would be even better than just a message.

I walked downstairs and grabbed the present I got for Elise. I just hoped she didn’t have it already with all my expertise I wrapped the present into gift-wrap and hid it in my jacket. I wanted to give it to her when we were alone.

“Can we leave?” Zacky yelled from his guest room.
“I’m ready.”



Zacky also dressed fancy but well, that was normal for him so I didn’t comment it.
“Why are we leaving earlier again?” I asked him and grabbed my keys.
“Because we need to pick up my date.” Zacky looked into the mirror near my front door and styled his hair until it looked perfectly.
“Oh okay then… wait come again, your what?” I turned back around to him. Since when did he have a date?!
“My date… I had a funny collision with a girl in a bookstore and I asked her if she would like to accompany me.”
“Wait there is a word in that sentence that makes no sense from you. You were in a bookstore?” I laughed at that.
“Yeah laugh as much as you want, but I have a date and you don’t… and if you really wanna know I met Kim in the bookstore by bumping into her while I was trying to hide from Gena and her new boyfriend but she caught me, anyways to come back to the point, we will pick her up now and then drive to the party.”
“Alright, then let’s go.” I walked forward and held the door open for Zack but he was still picking at his hair and I walked towards him grabbed his shoulders and shoved him out of the house.

Elise’s POV

I stood before the mirror in my bathroom. I let my hair fall down and looked at the waves it looked like always but I didn’t know what else to do with it.
I tried to put on a little make-up as best as I could and remembered my mother do it and looked at my reflection again.
“That’s the best I could do.” I murmured to myself and walked downstairs to help Tyler with the last preparation.
“Oh, hey Elise let me look at you..” Tyler stepped a little back, “you look amazing, little sis.”
“Thank you Tyler. Can I help you with something?” I asked him and looked around the living room but everything seemed organized, there were some bowls with chips and crackers and the fridge was full of beers and other liquors and I was a little worried since I have never drank alcohol before how I would react and if I should try it or rather not.
“No actually everything is prepared and the first guest should arrive soon…” Tyler said and opened himself a beer.
“How many people did you invite?” I asked him and was getting nervous again, how many people would come and then especially one of them, would Jimmy really come?!
“Not that many… Elise you don’t need to be nervous okay… there will be only a few friends. Collin, Mark and a few other people from work, you have seen them already. You invited Jimmy and I asked Zack if he liked to come as well… and then I asked some old friends… but believe me you don’t have to be afraid or anything just enjoy the evening.”
“Okay, I will try.”

The doorbell rang and Tyler went to the door. Our first guests were Tyler, Mark and a few people I knew from work, but haven’t talked to them, yet.
“Eliseeee…” Collin saw me and after hugging Tyler he went towards me and embraced me.
When would I get used to this whole hugging and touching?! I could only relax into a hug when it was Tyler because he always was like this, but with strangers I just couldn’t loosen up, even if it felt good when Jimmy had hugged me and kissed my cheek. I felt my cheeks go red at the reminder of Jimmy’s lips on my cheek.
“Wowww… you look fabulous.. sexy as sin. And with that I won’t leave your side, my dear.”
“Get your hands of my sister, Col.” Tyler said and walked towards us after he greeted everybody.
“Don’t play mother hen, Ty. We talk later Elise…”Collin said and walked towards the fridge and grabbed a beer.
I also greeted our guests and I was grateful that Tyler was by my side and introduced me.
Just when we turned around and closed the door the doorbell rang again and I opened up.

Jimmy’s POV

We had finally arrived at the big-ass house of Elise and Tyler, wow this was a really nice house, but he was a realtor so he must have a nice house, but here lived Elise with him, shit…
I looked in the rearview mirror at Zack’s company for the evening, she looked lovely and we had some small-talk on our way here and she told me the story how she and Zack met in the bookstore and how she saved his ass… that made me like her instantly.
I saw that Zack stole glances at her from the side mirror and I chuckled a little.
I parked my car at the side of the driveway and I climbed out of the car. I saw Zacky opening the door for Kim and then he held his arm out for her to hook into.
I grinned at these two and was a little jealous if I had to be honest, like Zacky said he had a date and I didn’t but I planned to change this soon.

The three of us walked together to the front door of the house and I rang the doorbell and waited only a few seconds later the door opened and their stood my sleeping beauty in a dress to kneel down for.



I knew my mouth must be hanging open while I stared at her and I held my breath, god she was the most beautiful woman I have seen.
“James, you came?!” Elise said and looked a little surprised but relieved, why would she think that I wouldn’t come?
Zack pushed me from behind and that’s when I noticed I still haven’t said anything and stood before the door.
I moved forward and hugged Elise tight, she smelled so good, when I finally let go of her I looked her up and down again, “Wow, you look incredible. And sure I came; I told you I would, so here I am.”
“Oh Jimmy, hey…” Damn that voice, Tyler stood behind Elise now and laid his hands on her shoulders. I felt the urge to just grab Elise and run away with her, where no one would find us, but that was not for today, so I kept my cool and greeted him friendly, “Hi.”
I made my way through the door and walked into the huge house. Elise greeted Zacky and Kim and I had already forgotten that they stood behind me, upsss…

After the first introductions were made I looked around the house and waited for Elise to keep me company.
“Do you want something to drink”, I heard her soft voice behind me.
“Oh yes a beer would be great.” I turned towards her and she smiled shyly and moved towards the kitchen. I looked at Zack and he was already in a deep conversation with his old friend Collin and Kim stood by his side, I just hoped he didn’t forget his original plan, which was to distract Tyler so I had some time with Elise.
“Here your beer.” Elise held a cold beer towards me and I took it with a smile. Gods, my hands were sweaty, why were my hands so sweaty?!
I looked around again and in the living area were at least 20 people talking in different groups drinking beer and having fun.
“Do you know all these people?” I motioned around with my beer.
“Not at all…” she seemed a little amused at my question.
“Oh.. okay. Hey.. Elise I have a gift for you, maybe you can show me around the house or something…” I asked her with an encouraging smile.
“Oh a gift? Why would you bring a gift for me?” Elise looked at me surprised and I had to smile even brighter.
“Because you invited me and because I wanted to… but I want to give it to you when we are alone..”
“Elli, honey.. come on over.. I want to introduce you..” Tyler called and interrupted our conversation, gods damn it, Zacky wasn’t doing a good job with the distraction.
“Damn you Zack…” I murmured to myself.
“I will.. just.. give me a second I will be back, or just come along…” she said and looked at Tyler and then at me and grabbed my hand and dragged me to the small group where Tyler was standing.
I looked down on our intertwined hands and then Elise looked at me and immediately let go of my hand as if she was burned and hadn’t noticed that she had took it in the first place.
“I didn’t mean to…” she looked down and didn’t meet my eyes.
“I liked it…” I leaned towards her and murmured to her ear.
We stood among this group of people and Tyler shared a story after another of him and ‘Elli’ and I got confused from how many memories they seemed to share.

After the party was in full action and the people started to dance and I was just about to ask Elise again if she could show me around Tyler came towards me.
“Hey Jimmy, do you have a moment?” Tyler asked in his friendly manner, damn him for being that way.
“Sure, so you could finally let Elise alone for a few seconds?” I asked him and I knew my voice dripped with venom but I couldn’t help it.
“Hm… yeah… Let’s get outside for a second?” Tyler seemed a little uncomfortable.
“Okay..” We walked out of the glass doors and Tyler closed them behind us.
He turned around and looked at me seriously, “I have noticed that you like Elise. I don’t know how you two met or anything but I can see that she likes you ,too.”
“And know you wanna tell me to stay away from her and not disturb your connection with Elise, right?!” I said and knew what he wanted to tell me but he could save his breathe because I won’t stay away from her whatever he would tell me know.
“No no… you can do whatever you like, it wouldn’t interfere with me and Elise… why would it?”
Okay, now this conversation got weird, what does he mean it wouldn’t interfere with Elise and his relationship? Oh shit, do they have an open relationship going on? But I wanted more from her…
“I.. don’t know what to say… If I ask her out and stuff you wouldn’t be pissed?” I asked him and frowned.
“No, I wouldn’t be pissed. I just would say to you, she… she is special and don’t hurt her.” Tyler turned around and was about to open the glass door again but I had to know this.
“Tyler, wait. What a weird relationship do you and Elise have going on there?” I asked him straight because I just didn’t know how to pack it nicely.
“Weird relationship?” Tyler turned around again and arched his eyebrow.
“Yeah I mean if she was my girlfriend I wouldn’t let another guy go out with her and Tyler I promise I don’t plan on hurting her but I want her for myself so better be prepared.” I stepped forward to get back inside but Tyler’s hand on my shoulder stopped me. Shit, does he want to fight now? I was as tall as him but I didn’t know how trained he was, damn it and today I didn’t have Matt and Brian with me…
But instead of hitting me he began to laugh, “Are you serious??”, that was all he said and began to laugh again.
My mouth opened but I didn’t know what was so funny… so I closed it and waited for his explanation.
“Elise… and I… we… Jimmy… we are sibling, Elise is my little sister. We don’t have anything going on, the way you put it… gods you thought we were… ohhhh…” Tyler began to laugh again and I felt a weight lifted of my mind- it made all sense now.
She was living with him because he was her brother and the traineeship and the shared office…
Gods, I was an idiot why didn’t I ask her about it earlier?!
I couldn’t help myself and just hugged Tyler and began to laugh as well.
Next stop would be Elise and I would finally get my talk alone with her!
