You Think You've Got It, Don'tcha?

Chapter Eight

It was later that night and Brian and I had boarded the plane, It was nice that I didn't fly alone. I had never flown alone, ever, and having Brian there was nice and comforting. He scooted across the two seats, reaching the one by the window and sat down, adjusting himself as I sat down, laying my head back. I could feel Brian look over at me.

"What's going on, Kitty? How ya feelin'?"

I shrugged. "I'm feeling okay. Just glad that I don't have to fly alone." I replied, closing my eyes. He nodded.

"Alright, then. Fair enough." He said, and laid his seat back, crossing his arms over his chest and closed his eyes. Looks like he's sleeping again. So in a sense, she was flying alone. I can do this, she thought, or at least I think I can. She asked the attendant for a glass of water, and laid her seat back also, looking up at the compartments. She was going to meet a brilliant guy, and she was going to start college, and find whatever else that she needs.

-------------------------------

Zack's grin spread across his lips quickly as he pulled her into a hug. "You're even more beautiful than Brian described." He admitted, chuckling. I buried my face in his chest, taking in the scent of his cologne.

"He told you absolutely everything then, huh?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Everything. Feels like I've known you forever honestly." He said, patting my back before letting go of me. "Come on, let me give you a tour around here. I don't want you gettin' lost tomorrow when you go to look at apartments."

-------------------------------

I awoke from my dream to the flight attendants telling Brian and I to wake up, because our flight had landed, and it was time to go. I groaned, sitting my seat up as Brian did the same and got up, walking to the end of the plane and we walked inside, looking around. Brian scratched his head, then turned to me.

"Any idea where he should be? He said he was picking us up when we landed." He said, looking around. I shrugged.

"Call him and ask. It isn't that hard." I insisted. He face-palmed and nodded, pulling his phone from his pants pocket and turned it on. We sat down on the seats that were in front of an enormous window, letting us get a view of the other planes landing, and taking off.

I made it, I thought. I'm in California now.

I looked around and then focused on Brian, who was chatting on the phone with Zack about where we were supposed to go, and how we were supposed to get there, and then Brian insisted that he just came to pick us up. After about 5 minutes, they had both came to an agreement, and he hung up.

"What was that all about?" I asked, arching a brow.

"He's coming to pick us up." He said, shoving his phone back into his pocket. "I fucking look ridiculous. You gotta fix my hair."

"I can't." I replied, shrugging. "All of my things are in my car and I only have a small can of hairspray and a comb in my purse for my haircare emergencies." Brian scoffed, feigning an expression that made him look all but offended.

"I see how it is." He glared. "I fucking see it."

I giggled, shrugging again. "I've told you numerous times to carry around things like that Brian. You should definitely work on your listening skills."

A while later, Zack finally showed up. 'a while', meaning about 45 minutes. Brian told me he was always saying things like that and how he'd be there in about 10 minutes, but always showed up later.

"He's like a freaking girl." He said, stepping into the back of Zack's car. Zack turned around and hung his arm over the back of the seat.

"Excuse me?" He asked. "You've lost shotgun privileges in my car, you ass."

I got in beside him as Zack finished his sentence and closed the door, staying quiet. When he turned to start the car, I instantly turned my eyes to him, looking over his facial expression, and his facial features. The first thing to cross my mind honestly was his eyebrows. Perfectly arched. There is no way that those are naturally like that. I thought. I was so focused on his face that I couldn't hear Brian saying my name and demanding my attention.

"What?" I asked, turning to Brian.

"Are you hungry?"

"No." I said, "But I'm tired and I want to sleep more."

"You can sleep when you get to Zack's house. You're going to stay awake for the moment, because i don't want you to miss these incredible sights." he said, looking out the window.

He was right. I asked what street we were on now, since Zack had been driving for a while, and then I looked at the street sign at the stop sign. Echo Park Avenue. The houses were gorgeous. Plus we were only a few streets away from Dodger stadium. I never was quite a fan, but it was always exciting to see.

"How you likin' the sights?" Zack asked, parking by the pond that was on that street. I shrugged, but got out, looking over the small ripples in the water. I didn't mind Brian, nor Zack, and I just sat down, leaning down and looked at my refection in the water. The moonlight gave me just enough light to see what was going on. It was too beautiful, and I was scared that if I had said anything of the sorts, Zack would pull a pick up line on me. I was pretty much his; I just didn't know it yet.

The guys started walking around the pond, chatting about whatever they could talk about. It was nice. Really nice. The weather was perfect, and so was everything else. Not even a could in the sky, and the sun had already set. Tomorrow was going to be a big day for me. More sights to see, more houses to look at, and possibly some time to get to know Zack more. I looked over to see Brian flat on his ass, and Zack doubled over in laughter, and chuckled, getting up to check on what was going on.

"You asshole!" Brian shouted up from the ground, shaking his fist. Zack was still laughing, now harder than he had laughed when I had looked over.

"What's going on?" I asked, looking at the two older men.

"I tripped him." Zack replied between laughs. I pursed my lips to keep from laughing then looked down at Brian, who was now getting back up. I held my hand out and he took it, pulling himself up from the grass and he rubbed his ass, mumbling something under his breath.

"Lets just go home." I insisted, looking at Zack, then to Brian. "I need sleep."

"You can go on ahead and leave with Zack. I'll call Matt and have him pick me up." Brian said.
