He who makes a beast out of himself...

3rd Person POV*

Not a word was spoken during the drive to Jimmy's. Everyone's minds were on maximum overload as they tried to wrap their heads around the last 12 hours. Jacqueline was trying to understand how Jimmy convinced that nurse that she had left an hour ago when Jacqueline was right in front of her. Brian was thinking about how Jacqueline's body reacted to the situation she was in. Jimmy, on the other hand, had his mind on the supernatural side. You see, those stories about the creatures that lurk the nights, searching for prey. The witches and wizards. The werewolves and vampires. Cthulhu and Nosferatu. Demons and angels. All of those fictional creatures made up for entertainment, are all real and very much alive. The feeling of being watched by an unknown creature at night isn't paranoia, it's realization that a beast is upon you. Man makes up diseases to hide the unusual. Insomnia is the human mind depriving itself of rest knowing that the demons will come if you drift off into slumber. Paranoia is a man being aware of the evil spirit following you from across the street. Schizophrenia is knowing that nothing in life will be logical enough for you comprehend the horrors that come out at night. Nobody was psychotic. Those deemed "mentally ill" are the ones who came to terms with the unholy creatures that hide in the shadows. The ones who encountered a demon and told society. Nobody wants their nightmares to be real. So they throw the poor souls in a looney bin and let them suffer in agony until death calls their name. That's what Jimmy was thinking about. He was thinking about Jacqueline's episode in the hospital that changed her beautiful blue eyes to fiery red ones in a matter of seconds. For Jimmy and his four best friends are far from human and aren't afraid of the secrets Jacqueline has hidden. Jimmy and Brian are both aware of the satanic creature she hides in her soul. And if they didn't bring the dangers to her attention, a very bad thing will happen. They didn't know what she was but they had an idea. They hoped they weren't right but they would find out soon.

"We're here." Jimmy said, breaking the agonizing silence.

Jacqueline just got out of the car and sighed. She was confused, tired, and in pain. All she wanted to do was go home but that won't happen for a while. She followed the two strange men into his house and sat down with them on the living room couch. By now, she had an idea of what Jimmy was. She just wished she was wrong. Jacqueline didn't know if Brian and their friends were the same as Jimmy but she just knew one of her greatest fears was upon her. That fear was being figured out.

"We know what you are. But do you?" Brian asked, looking her in the eyes.

"What do you mean 'know what I am'?" Jacqueline lied. She tucked her hair behind her ear, for that was something she always did after lying.

"Don't lie to us." Jimmy spoke sternly.

'What's it to these guys?' Jacqueline thought as she bit her lip. She knew they knew what she was but she wouldn't admit it. She could lie until she was blue in the face.

"Jacqueline. We know that you aren't human. And we know that you know we aren't either. But we need to know exactly what you are so we can protect you." Brian said practically reading her mind.

"It's complicated, OK? My mom was a hybrid and so was my dad. I'm made up of five different parts though." The men nodded indicating that she needed to continue. "My dad was a mix between a demon and vampire. He knew how to get into your head and drive you up the wall. My mom though, she was on the holy side. She was an angel and a witch. But that fifth part of me. Nobody knows where it came from. My parents always told me it was a gift from God but I think it's a curse from Lucifer himself."

"Well, what is it." Jimmy asked hoping his assumptions were false.

"According to my father, I'm a maxime creatura. He said it was an extremely rare thing to be and that there was only one other in the world. But I never believed him. I never believed any of them. I thought they were fucking around with me so I left. I shut everyone out and moved here to Huntington."

"Well they weren't messing around with you." Brian said quietly.

"So what are you two?" Jacqueline asked while adjusting her position on the chair.

"Huh?" The men said in unison.

"I'm not stupid. At the hospital, Jimmy, you totally mind fucked that nurse and I could hear Brian's voice in my head." She said. "So what are you. And I know you're 3 friends aren't human either."

Jimmy sighed. "I'm a hybrid just like you. But I'm a demon and vampire. The 'mindfucking' of that nurse was mind control."

"And you Brian?"

"I'm an angel. Me speaking to you in your head is what we call telepathy."

"Our friends would probably like to explain themselves. But for now, we wanna know your powers." Jimmy smiled and they both scooted closer.

"I don't know my powers. Like I said before, I shut every immortal out and tried to be normal. I never tried my powers. I'm pretty sure I can do witchcraft and, like, vampire stuff." Jacqueline giggled a little but Brian and Jimmy sat flabbergasted.

"Never?"

"Never."

"Well do not fear young one! Me and my bitches-" Brian smacked Jimmy on the arm. "I mean friends, can help you unlock your powers then you can be all badass and shit."

Jacqueline laughed at Jimmy's sudden burst of energy and Brian shook his head. "You should meet them first."

Jacqueline's POV*

"So this is the tattoo artist from Ink and Metal?" Asked a buff man with aviators on.

"And the one you sent to the hospital?" A short man with a black mohawk asked while laughing.

I nodded slowly and they all broke out in laughter. I looked down to the floor and chewed my lip. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I snapped my head up to see Brian smiling at me. I smiled softly and turned my gaze back to the three men.

"Jacqueline here is special. Just like us." Jimmy said from behind me.

The men all smiled except for the one with bright green eyes and snakebites. Snakebites stared at into my eyes. I squirmed under his gaze and bit the inside of my lip. It felt like he was looking into my soul. What the fuck was wrong with this guy?

He threw his head back and started laughing. "There's nothing wrong with me, I promise."

"What the..." I trailed off.

He laughed even harder and I turned to Brian.

"He's a vampire sweetheart. So he's naturally an asshole." Brian smirked.

I giggled quietly and shook my head. "What about the really buff dude and the tiny one with the mohawk."

"Hey!"

Everyone started laughing hysterically and I blushed a little. "D-did I do something wrong?"

"No! That was just fucking funny!" Jimmy squealed from the floor.

"Let me introduce ourselves so you don't need to give us nicknames." The buff one started. "I'm Matt."

"I'm Zacky."

"And I'm Johnny."

"Matt here, is a demon. Johnny is a wizard. And Zacky's a vampire. They all have certain powers but only use their strongest one. The others are used in emergencies."

"Being a demon, my main power is mind control. But it's different than Jimmy's mind control. I can make a person do whatever I say by shutting down their brain. Like, if I want a person to sit down I would shut down their brain then tell them to sit down and they will but they won't remember going to sit down." Matt explained.

I turned to Zacky and he smirked. "Like you saw before, I can read minds. All I have to do is stare into their eyes and then their brain is an open book. I can access all their memories and secrets. So if you ever have something you're trying to keep from me, it won't work."

"My turn!" Johnny squeaked. "Ok, so as a wizard, I can do all this cool shit but these assholes won't let me. Anyways, I can read minds like Zacky but I can also relive other people's memories. Like if I put my hand on your forehead."

Johnny put the palm of his hand on my forehead and shut his eyes. I watched him closely and he burst out laughing.

"If I do that, I can tell you that in the 8th grade you cracked your hip because your best friend Amanda wanted food and she jumped on you while you were asleep."

I started laughing and wondered where Amanda was now. I haven't seen her since 11th grade and I missed her so much. I wonder if she still remembers me.

"And being able to read minds I can tell you that you haven't seen Amanda since high school and you miss her like crazy. You also wanna know if she still remembers you." Johnny finished with a smirk.

"Ok, that's cool. But can you get out of my head please?"

"So what are your powers?" Matt asked me.

"I don't know."

"Well what are you?"

"A five-way hybrid. My dad was a vampire and a demon. And my mom was an angel and a witch. The last one, nobody nows where I got from. My dad calls it maxime creatura." I explained for the second time.

"A maxime creatura? Do you know how rare that is?" Zacky asked, dumbfounded.

"My dad said there's only one more left in the world."

"Well, you know what? We're gonna help you figure out your powers and make you the ultimate asskicker! Got it?" Johnny said.

I started laughing. "Alright."

So I guess this story is fantasy now...
I don't know how it turned out like this. I wasn't paying attention to what I was writing and I guess now... the boys are creatures of the night? I don't even know.
