I've Been A Warrior
Over the next 6 months my life couldn't have been any better! Brian and I have gotten closer than anything and now we're getting married!! Lee and all the girls have helped me plan this special day and when Brian and I come back home from our honeymoon, Lee and I are starting our own Motorcycle shop that runs out of my home. Everyone loves the idea and I couldn't ask anything more in my life. Thoughout the hardships and the losses that my life has slung my way, Brian has been there through it all and he never left my side. I don't think I could ask for anything more in this world. Tomorrow I am to be Mrs. Brian Haner Jr and my nerves couldn't be more tangled than what they are right now.
To say I was nervous would be a huge understatement. I lay in bed after a hard day of getting the last of the preparations done and sleep just wouldn't come to me. I guess it's all this excitement in me that just won't settle down. I got up from the bed and slipped on my shoes and left my room. I think I need to go to my mother's grave and maybe that will help me sleep. I heard the living room TV and thought Lee must not be able to sleep like me. I went downstairs and there she was on the couch just watching TV. I leaned against the doorway and she looked over at me.
"Is the TV too loud?"
"No. I was just wondering if you would like to go to the cemetery with me?" I asked and she nodded and turned off the TV. She knew how hard it was for me to go there and my mom hasn't really met Lee so it would be a good time to do it. I grabbed my keys and we left the house and I drove the short way to the cemetery and parked a little ways from the grave. We got out and walked over to the stone where my mother lay.
"Hey mom...I just wanted to let you in on that I'm getting married to most wonderful amn in the world. I've told you a lot about Brian and how he's stuck by my side through everything that's happened. My friend Lee is here too." I said smiling as I stared at her name that was carved so delicately into the stone.
"Hello Mrs. Burns. Roxy has told me a lot about you and I wish that you could be here with us on such a special day of your daughter's life." I felt the wind pick up and it brushed my hair out of my face.
"I wish I could be here too." I looked over at Lee and then ahead of me where I gasped in shock. My mother in brillant white surrounding her was standing just 2 feet away from me.
"Mom?" I asked with my mouth hanging open.
"Yes honey. Baby girl...I don't have much time left here among you."
"What do you mean?" I asked raising a brow.
"When I left this world, I made a request to the Lord that I watch over you until I was sure that you would be kept safe without my help. Brian is the man that will keep you safe no matter what and so will the other guys and girls, especially Lee here. I just wanted to tell you that I wish I could have been here to see the wedding and participate in it but I will be watching the wedding. I will be at our home when you wear my wedding dress and walk down that isle to be with Brian forever. I love you baby girl and just remember I always watch over you. You are a warrior and one day you will join me and we will be reunited but until then I'm your guardian angel. Never forget me...." Mom said as the light faded from around her and so did her spirit form. The wind kicked up as she was completely gone and it felt like something touched my cheek. I love you. I heard in my ear ever so softly and a smile lit up my face and the wind died down.
With everything that has happened; from my mother dying, my father trying to kill me, and Roe trying to kill me for leaving him and hurting Lee, my mother is right. I am a Warrior and her blood lines are with me....
