No More Tears, No More Pain, and No More Fears
Happy Birthday!
A lot has happened over the last 2 years. The police have contacted me and told me about the escape of Xavier along with 2 of his cell mates but they were found dead in Xavier's burnt house. Apparently he shot them 3 times in the head and put them into his house before setting it on fire. I've kept extra aware these last 2 years but he was no where to be found. It's like he had no interest in finding me. On a happier note, my kids Owen and Devon turn 3 today. My mom always told me that 2 year olds are outrageous but my kids never were. They were the same as when they were 1 years old. It seems like yesterday that I had them and now they're walking and talking. I was so excited when I was giving Owen and Devon a bath and to hear her say mama and then Owen saying Devon. I called Rex and told her about it and when she seen them they both yelled out for their Aunt Ree. They're growing up so fast.
Now with them turning 3, I'm starting to feel old. The twins always talk either in their code or with actual words. Rex and Raphael have shut down the club tonight so we could have their birthday here at the house. Rex helped me bathe my children and dress them up and they looked so cute. I fixed Owen's hair the way I liked it as Rex fixed Devon's. They both were so adorable.
"Happy Birthday my babies." I said smiling.
"I'm not a baby mommy. I am big girl."
"And how old is my big girl?" I asked picking her up.
"I'm 3." she smiled and held up 3 fingers.
"Mommy?" Owen said looking up at me.
"Yes honey?"
"What is a birthday?" he asked.
"It's where we celebrate the day you came into this world. Today is yours and Devon's day and you'll be getting lots of presents." Their little faces lit up. I left the room with Owen and Devon and we went into the living room where all their presents sat in the corner of the room.
They sat on the couch staring at them and talking code. Probably asking each other what they think they got. Jason, Mike, Donny, and Leo came into the house and sat around with my kids while I helped Rex and Raphael finish up with the food. I laid the food out on the table with plates for everyone and we went into the living room and sang happy birthday to Owen and Devon.
"Now do you want to open gifts or eat first?" I asked.
"Gifts!" they yelled. Rex gave them her gifts ad they ripped into the wrappers like it was nothing.
"Aunt Ree! I love the trucks!" Owen yelled as he pulled the different trucks out of the bag. He also got some tractors. Devon got 4 coloring books and tons of crayons. She loves to draw and color just like her mommy. She also got some cute outfits that she absolutely loved. I placed my gifts in front of them and they pulled out their plush animals. Owen got a wolf since he's always wanted a dog and I gave Devon the stuffed Duck named Stallion that Jimmy gave me those many years ago.
"A duck!" Devon squealed as she hugged the animal close to her. I put the gifts back into the bags as Rex took Owen and Devon into the kitchen to get some food. I got me a plate and sat down with them and watched them eat. When they finished, I thew the paper plates into the trash.
"Rex?" I said leaning against the counter.
"Yeah?"
"I'm going to call Val." I said smiling.
"Really?"
"Yeah. I think it's time I go home." I said smiling at the thought of being home with my family.
"I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too but I'll bring the kids back for a visit." I said hugging her.
"You better. I'll watch the kids while you make the call."
"Thanks." I said pulling out my phone and going through the contacts as I walked out of the kitchen. I opened the front door and sat down on the porch as I pressed call on Val's number. I listened to the ringing. There's been many times that I wanted to call her but I could because of reasons already known.
"Hello?"
"Is this Valary Sanders?" I said nervously. I haven't heard her voice in so long.
"Yes who is this?"
"It's Raelyx." I said smiling. I could hear her go out of the room.
"Rae? Oh my God! Where are you?"
"Val, I'm sorry I left." I said choking back the tears that threatened to fall.
"Rae I understand why you left. You know Zacky left to go find you?"
"I know. I seen him pull up at the cemetery but I ran to my parent's house." I said as the tears fell from my eyes.
"Don't cry Rae. We all miss you terribly."
"I miss you guys too and I want to come home. Can I?" I asked in fear.
"Of course you can! This is your home. When are you planning on coming?"
"In 2 weeks. Can you keep this a secret? I want to surprise everyone." I said smiling.
"Yes. I can't wait to see you."
"I can't wait either." I said smiling and wiping the last of my tears.
"Val, who are you talking too?"
"Play along." she whispered.
"No I'm sorry. You must have the wrong number."
"Trying to fool Matt. Nice Val." I said laughing.
"Yes I'm sure there is no one here by that name. I do live here."
"I need to get off here anyways. I'll see you in 2 weeks and I'll text you every time I stop." I said smiling.
"That's perfectly alright."
"See you in 2 weeks." I said.
"Alright goodbye."
I hung up the phone and slipped it back into my pocket as I went back into the house.
"What did she say?"
"She wants me to come home as much as I do." I said smiling and Rex hugged me.
"When are you leaving?"
"2 weeks from today." I said sitting down.
"I'm really going to miss you and the kids."
"I know and I was thinking that the day before I leave I can do a farewell performance for the people." I said smiling.
"That's a great idea. I do have a surprise for you though."
"A surprise?" I asked raising my eyebrow.
"Yeah." Rex reached into her pocket and pulled out a small box.
"We were saving this for your birthday but I think you should have it now." I opened the box and seen a set of car keys.
"Those keys are to your new 2010 Chevy Camaro that's in the garage."
"You didn't!" I said smiling and standing to my feet.
"Yes we did. We'll be paying the insurance on it since it's not that much."
"Thanks Rex!" I said hugging her.
"It's not a problem. Now go look at your car." I ran out to the garage and opened the door and seen the beautiful synergy green Camaro. I opened the door and looked at the awesome interior. It even has a built in GPS System!
I shut the door and went back into the house with Rex and helped her clean up the kitchen. When we finished, I changed my children into their pajamas and helped them into bed. I covered them up and kissed their foreheads as they drifted off to sleep. I laid down in bed and stared up at the ceiling. I will miss Raphael and Rex but I can't wait to see the Avenged Family I left so many years ago and I definitely can't wait to see Zacky.
