Why Won't It Go Away?

I sat in the waiting room wanting to know what was wrong with Rae. What could make her have a seizure? I'm so worried about her. Devon sat in my lap asleep and she's asked me several times what's wrong with Rae but I didn't have an answer to give her.
"Family of Rae Sanders?" Matt stood as the doctor came over to us.
"I'm Matt Sanders, Rae's father." Matt shook the doctor's hand.
"Mr. Sanders, I've have some very bad news."
"What?" Matt said and I hope the doctor wasn't about to say what I think. I don't want her to go through the same shit she did before.

I woke up to the sound of beeping and opened my eyes. I looked around the hospital room. What the fuck happened this time? The door opened and a doctor walked in with my family.
"Miss Sanders, how are you feeling?"
"I'm good." I said sitting up better.
"Miss Sanders, I'm afraid I have bad news."
"What?" I asked looking confused. Does this have something to do with why I passed out.
"Miss Sanders you're Breast Cancer is back. Don't worry you won't need another surgery but we need to start your treatments today."
"I understand." I said calmly but in my mind I was freaking the fuck out. My cancer hasn't came back in all these years so why would it come back now?
"Do I need to remind you about how this will work?"
"No sir. I remember all too well how the treatments are." I said looking down.
"Do you remember who your nurse was during your first ever treatment?"
"Yes. Her name is Melissa Reeves." I said.
"I'll call her and she'll be over to give you the treatment." I nodded and the doctor left the room. Zacky came over and sat down on my bed and I immediately buried my face into his side. He rubbed my back soothingly.
"You will beat this Rae. You've put it down once before and I know you can do it again."
"I know Zacky but why won't it go away?" I asked looking up at him.
"I don't know sweetheart." I laid my head back into his side and I couldn't help but let the tears fall from my eyes. What if I can't beat this?
