Chance Of A Lifetime

“Fuck, I’m going to be late. Shit. Shit. Where is it!? I swear if that brat stole it again I’m gonna-ow! Stupid flat iron! Fuck where is it. Oh my god, I can’t be late.”

I searched through my makeup bag, while brushing my teeth and straightening my hair at the same time. I looked through every pocket but my eyeliner was no where to be found.

“AHA!” I whisper/shouted when I found it at the very bottom of the bag. I spit out the toothpaste from my mouth and rinsed my mouth before applying a thick layer of the black liner around my eyes, winging it out to add a flirty effect. Everything had to be perfect, and I had to hurry. It was almost nine o’clock and I had to be at the venue in half an hour.

After my hair and makeup were done to near perfection, I quickly grabbed the [url=http://www.polyvore.com/askjhaslkjdl/set?id=73563650]outfit[/url] I had picked for the night and got dressed. I adjusted my beanie and pulled on my fingerless gloves before leaving.

I silently pushed open the window before climbing out of the room and onto the roof. Now for the hard part. I scaled the roof till I got to the giant tree beside the house and jumped skillfully onto the big branch conveniently placed at the perfect height and place next to the house. I climbed down the tree as quickly and quietly as I could before I eventually reached the bottom where I landed from the tree onto the perfectly trimmed and bright green grass beneath me. I grabbed my skateboard that I hid in the bush and took off towards the venue.

It only took twenty minutes to reach the venue. I skated right past the long line waiting to get in and to the back of the venue, where my friend Big Joe was no doubt waiting for me.

“Hey little moon. You made it just in time.” He said as I reached him. I slowed down and jumped off the board, kicking it up into my arms as I got closer to the hurly man in front of me.

To anyone else Big Joe would be scary as hell, but I knew him well and he was really just a big teddy bear. Both of his arms were covered in tattoos and he was over six feet tall, with large muscles. He was around 50 years old, although he would never tell me his real age. He had been to jail multiple times, but I knew he wasn’t really a bad man.

“Hey, Big Joe. I know, but I couldn’t find my eyeliner and I had to scale it again.” I explained. He nodded in understanding before opening the door behind him and letting me into the venue. I closed the door behind me and placed my skateboard beside it to pick up after the concert was over.

I walked over to the stage and went and stood right at the barricade, in the perfect spot to enjoy the concert. Minutes later the door was opening and people came piling in, rushing to get up to the barricade. I held on tight, not wanting to lose my spot as I was squished up against the metal bar. I smiled and sighed, this is where I belonged; with people who enjoyed music just like me.

Soon enough the lights dimmed and the opening act came on, screaming and pumping up the crowd. They played a couple songs, and I had to admit, they were really good! They were a metal core band and had some really awesome songs. Mosh pits were going and people were head banging and jumping around the whole time, making me smile. A short while later they bid their farewells and left the stage. Suddenly a large curtain lowered down, and the lights turned back on. Some people left for the intermission but I stayed put and waited. I adjusted my beanie again and started finger drumming on the barricade, making up a random beat. I got lost in my improvised music making and before I knew it, the lights were dimming and the crowd started screaming and going bat shit crazy. I joined the rest of the crowd and started screaming my lungs out.

A deep bass note played, rumbling through my chest and throughout the whole venue. Then the guitars starting playing the opening for Afterlife and everyone screamed even louder, although the curtain was still up. Suddenly the lead guitar went out and a single note continued playing, eventually fading out. Leaving the crowd screaming.

Thats when it happened. In a blink of an eye, the curtain dropped and the music started on, louder then ever. Right in front of me was M.Shadows, screaming a welcoming into the microphone.

After Afterlife they played Critical Acclaim, A Little Piece Of Heaven, Bat Country, and Second Heartbeat.

“Wow! How are you amazing mother fuckers doing tonight!” Shadows yelled, which everyone screamed an inaudible answer to.

“Alright, alright. Now boys, what do you suggest we do?” He asked his fellow band mates.

“Have an orgy.” Syn replied, making everyone either laugh or hoot and holler.

“Hilarious, Syn really. I’m in stitches. What about you Zacky V?” Shadows said, looking over at the shorter rhythm guitarist.

“How about we do a little switching of the members?” He suggested and everyone screamed again.

“That’s a great idea. Now, do any of you bad asses wanna come up and play a song with us?”

Before I could even think, my hand shot up as far as I could get it. I even climbed up the barricade a little to get higher up.

“Hmmm.... Who do you think?” Syn questioned as he looked over the crowd.

“Well how about-” Shadows started before Zacky quickly cut him off.

“Whoa guys, girl musician!” He said pointing straight at me from my left. My eyes and my smile widened as all three of the guys looked over at me.

“What do you play, sweetie?” Shadows asked me as he walked over to where I was standing.

“Drums.” I said as loud as possible since people started screaming around me as M.Shadows had moved closer to the crowd.

“No way! We got ourselves a female drummer, fucking rad! Well, come up here, little one!” As soon as he said that a body guard walked over and pulled me over the barricade. I couldn’t help the grin that was plastered on my face. Was this actually happening?

Once over the barricade I put my hands on the stage and jumped up, swiftly getting onto the stage. I took a deep breath and walked over to Shadows when he waved me over. I smiled at him when I reached him and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder, facing me towards the massive crowd in front of us.

“Alright! What’s your name sweetheart?” He asked into the microphone looking at me before putting the microphone in front of me.

“I’m Luna.” I replied and everyone cheered, making me smile wider.

“Sick name, Luna.” Zacky said from his side of the stage.

“Thank you!”

“How old are you?” He asked after I had replied.

“I just turned 15.” Everyone yelled and cheered again.

“Only 15? Aw she’s just a baby! How long have you been playing drums?” Zacky asked.

“I’ve been playing since I was 3 years old.”

“Impressive!” He replied before Shadows cut him off.

“Now, Luna. What song would you like to play with us this fine evening?” Shadow’s asked me. I thought for a minute, while I’m here I might as well impress everyone.

“Beast and The Harlot.”

Everyone cheered at that, making me smirk.
“You sure you can handle that, sweetheart? That’s a pretty difficult song.” Syn said to me. I scoffed and looked at him.

“I’m sure I can manage.” Everyone ooe’d making me laugh.
“Alright, well why don’t you just make your way up there and set up. Rev, you better be ready for this one. She’s got attitude!” Zacky replied, making everyone laugh and myself blush. I walked over to the stairs and took a deep breath. I was about to play drums with my favorite band, and soon I was about to meet my idol and play on his drum kit. Wow.

When I reached the top of the stairs, The Rev stood up and immediately hugged me. I smiled and hugged him back. Jason then came and unhooked The Rev and hooked me up to everything. Rev explained everything I needed cleared up before wishing me good luck and walking down the steps to watch from the stage.

“You all good up there?” Shadow’s asked me.

“You bet. Let’s fucking do this!” I said into the mic, making everyone cheer. I grabbed the sticks Jason had handed me and twirled them with my fingers around a couple times.

“Fuck yeah! Everyone make some noise for Luna!” Shadow’s yelled into the mic making the whole crowd go wild. I smiled and looked over at The Rev and he nodded, signaling that I could start playing. I began playing the opening notes, getting lost in the music but still hitting every note perfectly.

“Holy fucking shit!” Syn yelled when the song was over and the crowd had settled down some.

“She’s a natural! Jesus fucking Christ that was amazing! Jason, unhook her so she can come back down here!” Shadow’s yelled into his mic. Jason unhooked everything and I cracked my knuckles as I made my way down from the platform. When I reached the stage I was engulfed in a hug by The Rev.

“That was absolutely fucking incredible! I’ve never seen such a young and amazing drummer!” He said into Zacky’s mic, which was closest to where we were standing. Everyone agreed and made their way over to me, each giving me a large and sweaty hug.

“Everyone give it up for the amazingly talented Luna!” The whole crowd cheered for me one last time after Shadow’s hugged me and told me to go backstage to meet them after the show. I smiled and agreed as I made my way off stage.

“Holy mother of fucking God.” I muttered once off stage. That really did happen! I smiled and squealed to myself. After my fangirl moment I focused on calming myself down so I wouldn’t hyperventilate and make a scene.

I continued watching the concert from beside the stage smiling at all their stupid jokes they made and before I knew it they were saying their goodbyes. Suddenly the lights went out and they made their way off stage. Each step they took made me more and more nervous and as soon as they reached where I was standing, I blacked out.
