Over the next two weeks, there was no sign of Kayla or Damien so I decided that I would sell her stuff. Technically it was on my property so I could do what I wanted with it. Val and I decided to have a yard sale on Saturday outside my old house.
We weren't extremely busy but it was fine with us. Kayla didn't have that much stuff and we were getting rid of it quickly.
About noon, Jimmy, Matt and Brian stopped by and sat with us under the tent we had set up. I laughed at Brian as he raised a sparkly pink tank top up to his chest.
"Whatchya think?" he asked us. "Think it'll fit?"
Jimmy put a hand on his chin like he was thinking then found a light blue halter top and handed it to Brian. "Here. This is more of your color."
"Oh thank you, baby." Brian said modeling it for us while the rest of us fell over in a fit of laughter.
"You're gorgeous, Bri," Jimmy said. "But I think I look way better."
I turned to Jimmy and almost screamed with laughter. He had taken off his shirt and put on a bright orange bikini top and wrapped a scrunchie around the long part of his hair, piling it on top of his head. To finish off the look, he had found a pair of what I call bug-eyed sunglasses that matched the bikini.
Now even Brian was on the ground with me, Val and Matt dying of laughter at my husband. Jimmy had put his hands on his hips and was walking up and down the driveway shaking his butt only making us laugh even harder.
I heard somebody clear their throat and I turned to see a woman and her daughter standing there holding a few pairs of shoes and glaring at all of us. I stood up straight and dusted off my clothes.
"I'm sorry" I said and pointed to the shoes in her hand. "Is that all you wanted?"
The woman motioned her head at Jimmy who was now doing a "strip tease" for Brian by slowly taking off the bikini top. I had to bite my lip as I turned back to the lady. Her daughter looked amused but the woman herself looked like she had just sucked on a dog turd.
"That man," the lady said. "He should not be acting like that around here. This is a family neighborhood."
I shrugged. "Your daughter thinks its funny."
The lady's eyes got wide as she threw the shoes on to the table. "This is all i want and I will only pay five dollars."
"Ten for both pairs," I said.
She threw down a ten then started pulling her daughter who was laughing at Jimmy who was now sitting down with his legs crossed like a proper lady but he still had his hair up.
I laughed at him as I put the bill into the lock box. When I walked passed him, Jimmy pulled me down onto his lap and kissed my shoulder.
"Let's go somewhere," he said in my ear, playing with the strap of my tank top.
"Where?" I asked as I shivered from his touch. I still got excited everytime he touched me.
"Somewhere. I wanna run something by you. Have them take care of this for a little bit," Jimmy said gesturing towards Matt, Val, and Brian.
"Fine, but take that thing out of your hair please?"
He took it out, placed it on the table and shook his head until his hair fell back where it belonged. As Jimmy was finding his shirt, I went to stand next to Val.
"Hey, you mind watching this for a little while? Jimmy wants to go somewhere with me." I told Val.
She nodded. "Sure, sweetie. I have these two to keep me company. I'll call you if anything happens or if we don't sell anything at all."
I hugged her. "You are the best friend a girl could ask for."
Brian heard that. "Hey! What about me?" he asked looking hurt.
I hugged him too. "You, Matt, Zack and Johnny are my brothers. There's a difference."
"Johnny would be a half brother since he's only half a man," Matt said and I laughed but still hit his shoulder.
"I happen to be shorter than him," I reminded him.
Jimmy came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Yes but you are a girl. it's ok if your short. Since Johnny is male, I think, we can give him a hard time."
"I know. Bye guys," I said as Jimmy pulled me to his car.
Once we were buckled in and on our way to wherever he was taking me, I turned in my seat to face him. "So, where are we going?"
Without a word, Jimmy reached into his back pocket and pulled out a coupon for a free tattoo that I had gotten from Matt and Val on my last birthday.
I rose an eyebrow. "You're taking me to get a tattoo?"
Jimmy smiled. "Kind of. You'll see."
When we pulled up to our favorite tattoo parlor, Jimmy ran around to my side of the car to open my door for me. "You are such a gentleman, baby." I said smiling.
"Anything for my Duckie," he said. He opened the parlor door open for me and I was hit with a refreshing blast of cool air.
"Jimmy! Brooke! It's been a long time!" a man said coming around the counter to pull Jimmy into a hug. I recognized him immediately.
"Toby! My God it has been a while!" I said when it was my turn for a hug.
Toby had done almost all of our tattoos since we were kids. The only one he hadn't done for me were the wings going from my shoulder all the way down my back.
"I heard you two got married," Toby said pulling back to look at me. "Congrats. And marriage is a good look for the both of you."
Jimmy laughed. "Yeah. People keep telling us that."
Toby clapped his hands once. "Ok, so what can I do for my two favorite newlyweds?"
Jimmy pulled out the coupon and handed it to Toby. "I know it says its for only one, but what we're both getting is very small."
I looked up at him. "What are we getting?" I asked. I wanted to know before I got something permanently tattooed into my skin.
Jimmy smiled as he pulled me into the corner holding my left hand and he was spinning my wedding band around my finger. "I wanted us to get something that was a bit more permanent than a ring. Jewelry doesn't always fit. I thought we could get each other's names on our fingers."
I smiled. "I love that. Let's do it."
He leaned down to kiss me and Toby shouted out, "Hey! None of that in my shop!"
We both laughed as we made our way up to the counter to tell Toby what we wanted. Toby agreed to do them both with the coupon since we were both old friends.
It didn't take very long for us to both get them done and when mine was finished, I smiled down at the "Jimmy" tattoo I now had on my ring finger instead of my wedding band. Jimmy was smiling down at his also as we thanked Toby and left.
We were headed back to the yard sale when Val called me.
"Hey, Val. We're on our way back now. It'll only be-"
"Brooke!" she said interrupting me. "Get here now! Kayla has shown up and she is making a huge scene."
I hung up and told Jimmy. He sped up and when we got to my old house, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
