I stood on the deck of the cruise ship looking out over the ocean at the beautiful sunset. I smiled as I watched the water turn from dark blue to gold and red. I could see dolphins jumping along the horizon. I was holding onto the rail leaning over staring into the water. Something about the ocean always made me feel so peaceful.
I felt strong arms wrap around my waist and gently pull me back from the railing. I looked down at the hands and saw a spider tattoo on the right hand and a silver band with my name, Brooke, engraved into it on his ring finger on the left hand. I turned in the arms and looked up at the face of my new husband, Jimmy Sullivan.
He leaned down to kiss me gently. "You shouldn't be that close to the edge. You might fall in and I'd have to jump in after you."
"You sound like Jack from 'Titanic'" I said smiling.
"You watch that movie way too much," Jimmy said.
I shrugged and hugged him. "Its a very emotional movie. Plus, Leonardo Di'Caprio was sexy in that movie."
"Awwww, are you saying I'm not sexy?" he said looking down at me with his cute little pout.
"Of course you are," I said. "I married you didn't I?"
Jimmy kissed me again. "Yes you did and I am so happy you did."
Jimmy and I had been best friends since we were five years old. I had grown up with him, Matt, Brian, and Zack who made up the band Avenged Sevenfold. Johnny had joined them a little while after they had started but I had known him from school.
Jimmy had been in love with me for so many years and I had only realized it about a year ago. And three weeks ago, we had gotten married.
I smiled when I thought about our wedding. It had been so beautiful and it was one of the best days of my life. Here I was now in the arms of the man I loved more than anything on the last night of our honeymoon.
I turned in his arms again to look out over the water. Tomorrow we would dock and be on our way home and see all of our friends. Matt would most likely have a party for us.
Jimmy placed his chin on my shoulder. "Are you ready to head back home?"
"No. This has been magical and I never wanna leave." I said pulling his arms closer around me.
Before he could answer, there was a shrill sqeaul from behind us. We both turned to see a girl no older than fifteen standing there with a notebook clenched to her chest. "Oh. My. God. You're The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold! I am in love with your band!"
Jimmy smiled at the girl. "Well thank you. But right now I'm with somebody special so I'm only Jimmy right now."
Her smile didn't waver and she acted as if I wasn't even there. "Can I please have an autograph? We get off tomorrow and I would just die if I didn't get it."
Jimmy looked down at me with an apologetic look and reached out to sign the girl's paper. She gave him a quick hug before sqeauling again and running off.
"I'm sorry about that," Jimmy said. "I'm not sure how we've been here so long and she is the first one to recognize me. On the last night I might add."
I laughed quietly. "Don't apologize about it, baby. She's a fan and you guys wouldn't have gotten anywhere without fans. No musical artist would be and a lot of them don't remember that. I'm just glad you guys do." I said leaning up on my toes to kiss him. "And we haven't exactly been out of that room very much so it's not suprising she was just now seeing you."
Jimmy smiled as he grabbed my hand and lead me back towards the room. "Well it is the last night of our honeymoon. Why not make it memorable, huh?"
The next day after we had docked and gotten on a plane we were finally headed home. It was already pretty late and I was dozing off on Jimmy's shoulder in the taxi.
When we pulled up to Jimmy's (now ours) house, Jimmy helped the driver with the bags as I fumbled with the keys trying to find the one that opened the front door.
"Why do you have so many keys?" I called over my shoulder. "Did you murder a janitor and steal his keys?"
He paid the driver and laughed at me as he came up behind me grabbing the keys from me. He picked out the right key on the first try and opened the door. Before I could get through the door, Jimmy picked me up under my knees and my back. I shrieked as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I have to carry my beautiful wife over the threshold don't I?" he said as he carried me into the house.
Just then, the lights turned on I heard a loud "SURPRISE!!" come from the living room. I looked around me as Jimmy put me onto my feet, blinking in the sudden bright light. When I could finally see, I smiled.
"My boys!" I yelled as I was pulled into a huge group hug by four of my favorite people.
After they had all let go, they then pulled Jimmy into the same hug. I laughed and turned when I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Val, Matt's wife.
"Hey Brookie," she said pulling me into a hug.
"Val! I missed you," I said and then pulled away to face all of my boys. "All of you."
We were finally home and now our life together would truely start.
