Almost Easy

A Smooth Criminal and a Whiny Victim

Chapter Eighty-Five:

Daniel’s POV

I drove Adam’s pet to the police station. It’s surprisingly deserted. He was moaning the entire way. It wasn’t difficult to tune him out. This isn’t the first job that I’ve had from Adam, but he’s never had me do anything like this, before.

I kept my mask and gloves on as I got out of the car. I took out the manila envelope filled with the list of Derek’s crimes and the bagged condom he used on Adam’s daughter. I tucked it under my arm as I dragged Derek out of the vehicle and laid him in front of the station. I propped the envelope on his stomach and got into the car and drove away.

Three blocks away, I called the police station and let them know that he was there and that they should call an ambulance.I drove an hour out of my way and dumped the car that I had stolen. I stripped out of my clothes and threw them into a nearby dumpster, save for a pair of latex gloves I wore under the leather ones and my shoes.

I grabbed the backpack that I stashed here earlier this morning, inside of a trash-bag and pulled out a bottle of lighter fluid. I squeezed the entire bottle into the dumpster and lit a book of matches, before dropping them in. It didn’t take long for everything to go up in flames. I stood and watched, making sure that everything burned and the evidence was destroyed, especially DNA.

Once I was satisfied, I threw in the garbage bag and shoes. I scanned the alleyway and made sure it was vacant. It’s a relatively clean area. There isn’t heaps of dirt or trash anywhere, so my footprints won’t be able to be made out. I pulled shorts, a tee shirt, and flip-flops out of my bag and pulled them on. I set sunglasses on my face, a backwards ball-cap on my head, and I knew I’d mesh with the throng of college students that live in this town. I wouldn’t look out of the ordinary and no one would think twice about my appearance.

There is no doubt in my mind that I’m going to get away with this. They don’t call me a professional for nothing.

Derek’s POV

I can’t believe they actually did that to me. Was the little bitch worth it? I told her that she was, but was she? I suppose so. That doesn’t mean that I won’t try to finish the job if I ever get out of here. They couldn’t save my dick. Adam had so kindly wrapped it up for me and stuck it with the letter for the police, blaming me for raping his daughter and for the kidnapping.

I was told that I was being arrested, but because of the severity of my injuries that they were detaining me in the hospital. I was going away for life. I already know that.

If I ever see Adam again, I’m going to ring his fucking neck. No one takes Lydia away from me.

No one.

Notes

It's a short one, but I'm exhausted. Next chapter will be up on Sunday. Happy early Mothers' Day to all the mothers out there!

Ahhh, I loved it :D
I can't believe I read this in three days! I loved the characters, not all of them but majority :)
And throughout this whole story, I realized Brian was calling Lydia 'Ace'. I really didn't get why....but anyways! This was amazing :)
