Chapter Seventy-Six:

Lydia’s POV

I opened my eyes, and wished that I hadn’t. I feel like I’ve been run over by a fucking tank. What happened to me? I tried to remember where I was last and I’m drawing a blank. I tried to move, but couldn’t. I looked down and saw that I was tied to a wooden chair. What the fuck?! I tried to open my mouth and realized that it was taped shut. Mother fucking A!

I poked my tongue through my lips and got to work on the tape, as quietly as I could. It wasn’t hard to get off. At least I feel like I can breathe again.

Now, the chair… I don’t have my bag or anything on me. I didn’t think that I’d need it and for that, I’m an idiot. If I can’t untie myself, I can try to break the chair. I’d only have one chance to do it, and I know that it’ll make a lot of noise.

I leaned my head forward and did my best to cradle my face to my chest. I started to rock the chair. Well, here goes nothing. I jerked my body backwards, with as much force as I could manage and I fell. Thank God for cheap chairs. It worked! It actually worked!

I rolled to my side and managed to get the rope off of my hands. The knots on my ankles are trickier. After a while of tugging, they finally came loose. I looked around and saw what looks to be an abandoned house. It’s furnished, but apart from a few newer looking items, it doesn’t look like it’s been inhabited for awhile.

I need my purse. I felt around in my pockets and noticed my phone and everything else I had on me is gone. Fuck my life. It has to be Derek and Adam. No one else would care enough to take me. Oh, my God. I can’t believe they actually took me. I glanced around the room and saw nothing that would help me.

“Looking for this?” Adam asked from behind me, letting my bag dangle from his finger.

“Give it to me.” I told him, quietly. He chuckled, smirking.

“Why? So you can shoot me?” He retorted.

“Yes.” I replied. He kept chuckling and took my purse to the table in the dining room. He pulled my phone out of my purse and removed the battery. He dropped the battery into a glass of water. I glared at him.

“The gun is somewhere safe.” He assured me.

“Why am I here?” I asked him.

“Because you’re my daughter and I wanted to spend some time with you.”

“You never want to ‘just spend time with me.’ And legally, I’m no longer yours.” I told him. His eyes went ablaze.

“You know better than to talk back to me.” He sneered. I kept my stance and stayed quiet. I don’t want to provoke him. I have no idea where this house is or how long he’s planning on keeping me here. “I’ll just have to re-educate you. We both know that you have much better manners than that.” He admitted, quietly. He walked over to me and traced my cheek with his fingertips. “You’re such a beautiful young woman. You look so much like your whore of a mother, but not your eyes. You have my eyes.” He commended. “You should know that we aren’t alone here. Your mother’s friend, Derek, is upstairs. I have told him that he is not to touch you without my say so.”

“That’s never stopped him before.” I whispered.

I never even saw him move. My head whipped to the side and I felt the intense sting from his blow. My hand flew to my face. I’m amazed I didn’t fall over.

“Don’t interrupt me when I’m talking to you. You know better than that, little Dove.” He scolded me, as he shook his head.

“Okay.” I breathed.

“‘Okay?’” He echoed. He moved his hand, to backhand me again, but I was ready for him. I moved out of his reach and his gritted his teeth. He pulled me to him and hit me harder than before. “Let me know that you understand me.” He growled.

“Yes, I understand you.” I told him.

“Yes, what?”

“Yes, sir.” I replied. That seemed to satisfy him, because he released me.

“There is nowhere for you to run. Even if by some miracle, you are able to get out of the house, there is nothing for miles.” He revealed. “I have no intentions of giving you back, little Dove. So, I suggest you get used to the way I run things. If you don’t behave, I can always let Derek have his way with you.” He threatened me.

“Y-you w-w-wouldn’t do th-that.” I struggled to get out.

“Wouldn’t I?” He asked.

“No,” I whispered.

“Try me, little Dove.” He taunted me. I clamped my mouth shut. “Good, see, you’re already learning. I’m going to make dinner and you’re going to help. I can’t have you losing your strength – can I?” He smirked.

Holy shit. Honestly, I have no idea how I’m even going to make it out of this alive. Heaven help me.

And throughout this whole story, I realized Brian was calling Lydia 'Ace'. I really didn't get why....but anyways! This was amazing :)
