Nothing else matters

Jimmy’s POV

I waited half an hour and then announced my departure and took Romy with me, we stopped at my house to talk about the plan in private to bring Ana and Brian back together.
“So, I have an easy plan. We have two days. I will bring Brian to this new Bar called “The Corner”,
I haven’t really an idea how I will do that but believe me he will be there by let’s say 8 in the evening. That way you can go there with Ana. You said that you two planned to celebrate her new job, right?! Do you think, you can get her there?”
“Yes, we will be waiting there for you? Wait, I will write Ana a message right now.”
Romy pulled her phone out.
“So I sent her: Ana, to celebrate your new job properly we meet on this Saturday by 7:30 and we will go to this new Bar “The Corner” in Huntington. I will pick you up. No buts are allowed. You will be ready, just accept this. Romy
You think that will work?”
“Yeah.. that will work. I have the hard part to prepare Brian for going out. I will have to think of something.”
We talked for more than 2 hours when my eyes became so heavy and I closed them just for a short moment.

Zacky’s POV

I don’t have to worry, I don’t have to worry… I DON’T HAVE TO WORRY!!!!!
I looked for the hundredth time at the clock it was after 1 at night. Why in hell is she not here by now and why is her voicemail only responding?!

Now I know why I had no girlfriend or long term girlfriend for so long because all this strange feelings are driving my slowly insane! Jealousy, fuck one of the worst feelings ever!
And now worry! Normally I only had to think and worry about myself now I can’t help it but to have all this worry for Romy as well.
I tried to call Jimmy he might know where she is, he should have been the one to drop her off. It rang but no one picks up. Fuck!
I called Romy at home, maybe she just drove home because it was too late?!
No one picked up. Ok, now I was really worried. But I didn’t want to wake all the other so I just pulled my shirt and pants back on grabbed my keys and went to my car. I drove over to Brian’s house. Everything is dark, no lights on. Only Brian’s car parked in the driveway. So I drove over to Matt and Val, also everything dark and no other car.

Ok, last chance I drove to Jimmy’s house. His car was parked in the driveway, so he must be home but where is Romy?!
I walked towards the door; I could see a small light in the living room.
I tried to look through the window next to the door but couldn’t make out any features.
Should I knock and wake him?! Maybe it’s nothing…
But why did Romy not come home? She was acting strange in these past days… was it really nothing and she was just worried about Brian?
She went to the Restaurant with Jimmy, I knew they wanted to be alone… and who is the first person Romy went to when she has a problem or needed something… Jimmy… always Jimmy… ok now the worst feeling came back jealousy.
I had this feeling before about her and Jimmy but I know that Jimmy wouldn’t do that. It’s not even the feeling of jealousy that she is betraying me with him, but the feeling of not being her first choice.
Is that normal?!

I knocked on the door loudly. Nothing happened. I rang the doorbell and after a few moments I heard someone curse and footsteps closing in on the door.
The door was pulled open and a very tired looking Jimmy stood there.
“Oh wow Zack, its fucking… in the middle of the night, isn’t it? What are you doing here?” Jimmy yawned and scratched his head.
“Is Romy here?” I wasn’t here for small talk. I was getting really disappointed and angry.
“Yeah, she is sleeping… we talked and well then we just fell asleep on the couch… Like old times, she sleeping here… ”, he laughed a little at the memories only they shared.
I walked past him inside. I needed to see Romy myself, to really make sure she was here and save.
She was lying on Jimmy’s couch the blanket was laid across her body she looked so beautiful and peaceful sleeping there a small smile played on my lips.
“Beautiful…” I said absently.
“Sorry man, we should have called you. But it was getting so late.. I thought you were asleep and then we just fell asleep. Why didn’t you call?” Jimmy asked me.
“I called but you didn’t pick up and Romy’s phone was shut off.” I took her phone from the table tried to turn it on but immediately the battery low sign showed and it shut down again.
The solution of the voicemail question - low battery!
“Hey you wanna sleep here, too? Because I am damn tired and gonna head to bed now.” Jimmy stood up and looked at me for an answer.
“Can I ask you a question, Jimmy?”
“Sure man, what is it?” Jimmy sat back down.
I was debating to really ask him the question that was on my mind.
“Do you think that on one day, I will be her number one?” I asked him but was watching Romy sleep.
Jimmy wasn’t answering for a while so I was glancing towards him.
He looked at Romy as well and then he turned his gaze to me. “You are her number one, Zack. Don’t worry.”
Then he just stood up and went upstairs without another word.
