Nothing else matters

Romy’s POV

I looked into the mirror. I was ready for the lunch with Matt and Val. They should be here by any minute.
The doorbell rang and I opened without looking. “I’ll just grab my bag, wait.”
“Why?” I heard the voice I longed to hear since two days now.
I turned around, “Zacky… hey. What are you doing here? What a nice surprise!”
Zacky looked guiltily to the floor. “I wanted to…”
My door banged open again, “Yo.. Romy.. you ready? Val is waiting in the car?!” Matt shouted and then looked over at Zack and continued, “Oh hey.. Zack, what are you doing here?”
“I was just… asking…” Zacky nearly stuttered. What was wrong with him?!
“His sweater. He brought me home after the club the other day and I kept his sweater.”
“Exactly. My favorite one, you know.”
“Well, since you are here, we are going out for lunch, you coming along?”
“Ah...sure. Why not?!”

Ana’s POV

At the next morning I went to the Uni. My exam was today.
Nobody noticed that I cried yesterday when I came home after my date. But that was normal; my whole family gave a shit about me and my feelings… But that was ok, I didn’t know it otherwise.
I couldn’t stop thinking about yesterday. Why can’t I be normal around Brian? Why is it so difficult?
I don't want lose Brian! But I have to tell him about myself to explain my behavior from yesterday. But I have never and I really mean never talked about this with anyone. Should I trust Brian? Can I trust him enough just now?!And what if he doesn't understand? What if I scare him away?
My phone buzzed, that was Brian.
"Hey Brian"
"Hey Ana, How was your exam?" he asked
"Good, I think" Should I apologize for yesterday?!
"Nice. Are you okay? I worried about you. You went out so fast yesterday."
"I'm okay, really"
"I'd rather see that for myself. I have some time off, so are you at home?"
"Ahh… yes, but I don’t think that is a good idea."
"Ana, I’ll be there in a few." Brian hung up.
Oh no, no, no! Fuck!
The last thing I wanted was Brian in my home. I was scared. A few minutes later the doorbell rang.
I ran towards the door. I didn’t want one of my parents to open for me.
Brian stood in front of me and smiled. I stood there and couldn’t form a reasonable sentence.
"Well, can I come inside?“ he said finally
"Oh, yes, sorry, come on in." He kissed my lips and I interrupted him.
"Hmm.. maybe we should go to my room."
We passed my parents living room and without any interruption I pulled Brian towards the stairs.
Suddenly my mom followed by my Dad came from the living room and looked over to Brian and me holding hands.
Ahhh, no, please Mom, don’t embarrass me.
"Hello, and you would be..?" She started
"Mom and Dad this is Brian, my.. friend. Brian, these are my parents" I introduced them.
Brian gave a small smile stepped forward and shook both of their hands, "Nice to me to you. My name is Brian Haner. "
My mom just nodded and went back to the living room. Ah thank god, she didn’t make a scene.

Finally in my room, Brian looked around then grabbed me and kissed my neck from behind.
"So tell me little Ana, what's up? I can see that you're sad"
"Brian.. I ", I began and smiled a little but even though the closed door I could still hear my parents argue again. So I cheered too soon about not making a scene.
My mother screamed, “You saw him?! Who was that?!” My Dad, “Is that her boyfriend?!”
Oh my good god, could it get any worse?!
"Sorry, I'll be right back." I said to Brian.
I went downstairs and couldn’t help but yell myself, "Can you stop the screaming?"
"Ana!! Who is that guy? Is he your boyfriend?"
"Have you looked at him?! He looks like he just came out of jail?!" starts my father I couldn’t answer any of their questions, they just continued.
"So many tattoos and does he take drugs? He looks like someone who would. Ana is he..."
"Stop it! That is none of your business! Why would you start to care now what I am doing?" I looked at my mother and father.
"You see? You see?!" My father started screaming at my mother again, "It's your fault! You always let her get away with everything. She gets involved with some criminals!"
What are they talking about letting me get away?! They didn’t care at all!
"Stop it" I tried again “It's my life, not yours! I will do what I want! You were never interested in my life at the least so why change it now?!”
I ran upstairs and to my room. Ah damn, I felt like a small child. I wished that Brian never came to me… I couldn’t look into his eyes when I closed the door to my room. I could still hear the screaming from my parents downstairs.
"Brian, believe me. I am so sorry, you should go now" I looked anywhere but at him.
"Ana, I heard everything, come here…" He embraced me and he lovingly stroked my back.
"Come on Ana, I want you out of here. We will drive over to my home"
I don't know why but I just nodded and took my bag from the chair and grabbed his hand.
"Where do you think you're going?!" My dad looked angry from Brian to me and back.
I just followed Brian outside. I couldn’t help but let the tears now freely fall down my cheeks.
