Mr and Mrs

Hannah’s P.O.V
If I thought Erin and Brian were happy, adorable and almost slightly sickening when they got married the first time; I was in for a shock after they did it for real and it was announced to the public. Since I was dragging Erin along to the last minute decisions of my wedding, she dragged Brian and then Matt tagged along.

But finally, my day was here. Today, I would finally become Mrs Hannah Sanders.

Matt had been moved out of the house last night to go to a hotel with the rest of the guys so that we had the whole house to get ready in this morning.

My bags were packed for spending the next three nights in a hotel with Matt – we decided after Brian and Erin’s wedding with the news of the tour that we would honeymoon then – we were leaving from the house to the venue, and we were all just starting to get ready.

My mum was the first woman in the house to be ready, meaning that she could help the rest of us.

As I was sitting at my vanity, adding the last pin to my hair to keep it in place, Erin walked into the room and my jaw dropped when I saw her in the mirror. I turned around to see her better and she looked amazing. As my Maid of Honour she wore a slightly different dress to the girls, but the colour was the same as the rest of my bridesmaids. Her makeup was natural but still gorgeous and her hair was down and waving around her chest. I had to cover my mouth to stop myself from crying.

“No tears,” She told me, taking my hands and pulling me to my feet so she could hug me tightly
“You’ll ruin your makeup, and you have to get into your dress,”

“Not yet,” I told her with a shake of my head “I’m not getting into that dress until the last minute, until you all are downstairs,”

“Why?” She whined.

“Because I want my dad to be the first man to see me,” I told her with a smile, tears building in my eyes.

“Can we come in?” I heard Lucy ask from the other side of the door.

“Come in,” I laughed and they all slowly piled into the room.

The girls looked amazing with their dresses and their flowers and I couldn’t control the smile on my face, and the slight laugh that escaped my lips when Lee walked into the room, dressed in his pink tux.

“Suits me, right?” He asked, giving a spin.

“You look very handsome,” I told him, turning back to the girls “You’re all so gorgeous,”

“I always knew I’d be at your wedding,” Lucy said “But I never imagined It’d be all the way over here and to the rock star you were obsessed with when we were younger,”

“I did!” I laughed, causing everyone in the room to laugh too.

I felt so underdressed in this room with only my hair and makeup done, my bridal underwear on under my blue silk robe.

“Can the mother of the bride come and have a look?” Mom asked, poking her head through the door “Oh!” She gasped “You all look so beautiful,” Everyone thanked her “Hannah, can I have a minute alone with you?”

“Sure,” I smiled and everyone took the hint and left me alone with my mother who sat me down at my vanity again “What?” I asked when I caught her just staring at me in the mirror, smiling.

“I’m so proud of you,” She finally said “You came out here to get away from things that didn’t make you happy and your dreams come true, what are the chances of that?” She asked, dabbing her eyes with her tissue as her tears threatened to spill.

“I guess someone up there is just watching out for me,” I shrugged with a bright smile “I wish he could be here,”

“I wish he could be too, but you know he wants too, right?” I nodded “Your granddad loved you from the second he laid eyes on you, unlike with your brother he knew he was going to love you, and when he came to visit us in the hospital when you were two hours old and he held you for the first time, you wrapped your tiny little hand around his finger and he was under your spell,” I couldn’t stop the tears this time, but mum dabbed them away before they did any damage.

“He’s the man who taught me to be… me,” I chuckled “He always believed in me and told me I’d go on to do great things in the world, that I’d – I’d get my happy ending,”

“For the first eleven years of your life, I don’t think you were loved more by anyone,” She smiled at the thought of her father and pulled something out of her jacket “He also wanted me to give you this on your wedding day,” She handed me a white envelope with my name perfectly written on the front. When I took it from her if felt heavy, like there was something inside, and when I turned the envelope over it was sealed with his own personal seal, I looked up at my mum with my eyebrows raised “He always did that with his letters that were important,”

I opened the envelope and pulled out the paper that was delicately folded and opened it to read his words inside.

My dearest granddaughter, Hannah.

Today is your wedding day and I have no doubt you are marrying the man of your dreams.

I write you this letter because I know, that with the cancer, I will not make it to the day you get married, but I am watching you, I always am. I am always there with you Little Songbird, singing along with you, dancing with you too, wishing I could dry your tears when you cry and laughing with you when you laugh.

I love you, I always did and I always will.

Good luck with your happy ending, Darling.

Grandpa Jim x

I was silently crying by the time I finished reading the letter, my shoulder shaking slightly with the small sobs that racked my body. I lifted the envelope out of my lap and tipped the content into my hand to reveal a silver locket, oval shaped and plain.

“Open it,” Mum whispered, and I did. Inside made me smile brightly through my tears, a picture of Grandpa Jim and I, at one of our family picnics in the summer, sitting on a checked blanket and feeding each other sandwiches.

“This is the best wedding present ever,” I told mum with a huge smile as she set about fixing my makeup.

“Come on, you have to finish getting ready,” She pressed a kiss to my hair “Your father will be here any minute,”

“Okay, you’re right,” I took a deep breath and walked over to the closet where my dress had been hidden in the back for weeks. I pulled out the bag and gave mum a look.

“You need help?” She asked.

“No,” I laughed and she nodded with understanding, turning to leave “Actually,” I sighed “I’d love it if you zipped me up,”

Mum cried when she caught a glimpse of me in my dress, I told her not to look, but I knew that she would.

“Hannah?” Dad asked from outside the door “You ready to go? We’re going to be late,”

“I’m ready,” I breathed “Come on in,” The door opened and I turned away from the full length mirror to look at my dad, I was holding my veil in my hand “Can you put this on for me?”

“Where?” He asked, stepping up behind me and taking the veil from me. I pointed to where he should put it and he did, it looked perfect and was almost as long as my train.

He held out his arm for me and I linked mine through it, allowing him to lead me to the top of the stair case.

“Your mother is going to cry,” He told me.

“She already did,” I giggled, fiddling with the locket hanging over my chest “Let’s do this,”

We walked down the stairs and everyone turned around to look, gasping at the sight before them.

Matt’s P.O.V
We couldn’t have gotten off to a more stressful morning. Zack couldn’t find his tie, Johnny lost his vest and I couldn’t find my cufflinks, thankfully, Brian was the calm-headed one this morning and he knew where everything was and he was helping me get ready.

“Excited?” He asked, tying my bow tie for me.

The guys were already in their tux's and I was almost ready.

“Yeah,” I chuckled “Nervous and terrified too,”

“Terrified, why?”

“What if I fuck my vows up? What if I say the wrong thing and she doesn’t understand how much I love her?”

“You’re marrying her,” Jimmy laughed, clapping me on the shoulder “I’m pretty sure she knows how much you love her,”

“The cars are here,” Johnny announced, coming back into the room “Your parents and sister too,”

“Great,” I smiled “We’re all ready to go,”
~~~~
I rode in one of the cars to the venue with my parents and my sister, but we were only allowed to leave once my mom filled her camera with pictures of us all.
“Don’t worry about it son,” Dad chuckled softly, patting me on the back as we pulled up to the venue “What, are you worried she won’t show?” My eyes grew to the size of frying pans as I turned to look at him.
“Well I am now!” I exclaimed before groaning into my hands.
“Well, hey, you’re mother almost didn’t turn up to our wedding,”
“That’s really helping Dad, thanks,”
We had arrived, greeted the guests and we were all lined up at the large gazebo at the end of the aisle when the music started to play.
I turned around to see the bridesmaids walking down towards us but I paid them almost no attention except for a huge smile to Erin who gave me a confirming nod and a huge smile of her own.
The music changed to the wedding march and I turned around again as everyone got to their feet and I saw Hannah, the woman who would soon become my wife, the woman who stole my heart all that time ago, rounding the corner with her father on her arm.
The music changed and my heart almost stopped, I knew what happened next. I married Matt.
“Ready?” Dad asked, gripping me tighter.
“Ready,” I breathed “Just… don’t let me fall,”
“Never,”
The whole way down the aisle I couldn’t take my eyes off of Matt and the massive dimpled smile on his face.
“Who gives this woman?” The Officiant asked.
“I do,” Dad choked out, but his grip only tightened on my arm and I had to smile at him as I leaned into his ear.
“You can let go now, Daddy.” I whispered and he turned, kissed my cheek and placed my hand in Matt’s.
“I do believe that the bride and groom have written their own vows, Hannah, would you like to begin?” I nodded and faced Matt. This was perfect, everything I imagined it to be, the two of us standing inside the gazebo, hand in hand, promising ourselves to each other for the rest of our lives.
“Matt,” I started “I never could have known that moving out here would mean I got to meet you, but I did, and the day you crashed into the back of my car started the rest of my life, everything I have gone through since I got out here, you have gotten me through it by standing by my side, no matter how hard I pushed you away, and today, before our family and friends, I promise myself to you forever,”
“Matthew,” The Officiant smiled.
“Hannah,” He was already choking back tears “You’re the light in my life that gives me hope, you make me a better and happier man, you never fail to make me happy, I go to bed with you by my side, knowing that you’ll still be there when I open my eyes, but tomorrow, as my wife and every morning after that, you make me the happiest man alive and I promise to spend the rest of my life trying to make you as happy as you make me,”
“Now, Hannah. Repeat after me,” I took a deep breath “I, Hannah Williams, take you, Matthew Charles Sanders, to be my lawfully wedded husband,”
“I, Hannah Williams, take you, Matthew Charles Sanders, to be my lawfully wedded husband,”
“I promise to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse,” I repeated, now looking directly into Matt’s eyes again “for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part,”
Matt said the same vows to me and then we exchanged rings, and the other vows; I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I lace it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today, our wedding day.
“We did it!” I exclaimed as Hannah and I were in the car being driven to the reception venue “I love you, Mrs Sanders,”
“I love you too, Mr Sanders,” She smiled at me, leaning up to kiss me lightly
We got to the venue and everyone was already here, the party had started but when the DJ was alerted of our arrival, he cleared the dance floor.
“Please, welcome to the room, for the first time as a married couple… Mr and Mrs Sanders!” Everyone cheered as we entered the room and I’ll Be by Edwin McCain started to play.
We reached the middle of the dance floor and I took Hannah into my arms while she wrapped her arms around my shoulders and allowed me to move us around the dance floor gracefully.
“Thank you,” I whispered to her.
“For what?” She asked, looking up into my eyes.
“Marrying me,” I smiled down at her “You look so gorgeous, I swear you’re glowing,” She just laughed a little before resting her head on my chest and dancing with me until the song ended.
After some dancing, it was announced that dinner was about to be served so we made our way to the head table where Brian and Erin were already sitting, two seats between them. I sat beside Brian while Hannah took hers beside Erin and started talking to her. The two of them gushing over the fact that they were both married and how amazing both weddings had been.
They hugged so many times between their talking that I lost count but didn’t stop smiling at them. It was amazing to know that even though they were both married and Hannah and I were trying for a baby, they could still be so… in love.
Soon after everyone had eaten it was time for speeches and Brian stood up first, ready to give his best man speech.
“I’d like to start off by saying… Matt, well done, you bagged yourself one of the best ones out there,” Everyone laughed “You two are the best couple I’ve seen in a long time, you complete each other and you have done since the very beginning, and being around the two of you makes everyone else happy too, and I wish you all the best of happiness in the rest of your life together,” He raised his glass “To Mr and Mrs Sanders!” Everyone in the room raised their glasses too and cheered together.
“Okay,” Erin breathed, getting to her feet “Hannah, I love you,” The two of them were crying already “You’re my best friend, and I knew we were making the right decision when we moved out here to live together, we have been through so much, good times and bad times, happy times and sad times and now… you’re a married woman and I just… you’re so…” She broke down crying in Hannah’s arms who had stood up to hug her girlfriend and the two of them were crying all over each other and I knew the emotion was spreading through the room as I watched a large number of our guests drying their eyes. Eventually, Erin sat back down, but Hannah stayed standing.
“Okay, I’m not going to make a speech because we would be here all night if I did, but I do have a little something for all of you,” She looked at all of us sitting at this table “Under your name tags, there is a present from me,” I was confused. But we all reached under our name places and found little envelopes.
Hannah counted to three and we opened them at the same time, pulling out a small picture, black and grey with a tiny little shape in the middle.
“Oh my God,” Erin gasped.
“What is this?” I asked, standing and facing my wife, a smile spreading across my face.
“That’s our baby!” Hannah laughed, tears streaming down her face.
“I’M GOING TO BE A DADDY!” I yelled and everyone started clapping and cheering as I grabbed Hannah and kissed her deeply and passionately in front of everyone “I love you,” I whispered to her, my hand resting on her flat stomach “Both of you,” before she could say anything else I turned her around to Erin who was waiting with open arms and tear stained cheeks.
Hannah’s P.O.V
After I broke the news to everyone that I was pregnant, everyone was congratulating us on two different things, the marriage and the baby.
Matt and I were dancing together again, just sort of holding each other on the dance floor, surrounded by our friends and family.
Suddenly, the song changed to the song I’d chosen to dance with my father to just as he came up and tapped Matt on the shoulder who handed me back to my dad for the song while everyone cleared the dance floor.
Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each others face
So much in love your alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way
But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it still hard to give her away
I loved her first
How could that beautiful women with you
Be the same freckle face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time
But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But its still hard to give her away
I loved her first
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first
I cried through the entire song to dad about how much I was going to miss being his little girl but he told me that I would always be his little girl, no matter what and it was a pleasant surprise to find out that he was excited about the baby on the way.
Next, it was time to throw the bouquet and all of the women got ready to catch it, I threw it and in all the excitement, it was Lee who caught it, causing his partner to kiss him deeply.
“Everyone ready for this?” Matt asked.
I was sat on one of the chairs in the middle of the floor, my dress had been lifted slightly to allow Matt access under my dress.
He crawled under and ran his hands up my thighs, I couldn’t help the jolt of pleasure I felt when his lips grazed the inside of my thigh while he grabbed my garter with his teeth and pulled it off, throwing it into the crowd of men… Zack caught it and announced that he was keeping it.
That was it. I was a married woman, a pregnant, married woman to the man I fell in love with back in high school. Everything was perfect.
