Matt’s P.O.V
To say everything has been awkward since the… incident, with Hannah and I. She would leave the room whenever I walked in and if we had to work in the same room as each other she stayed as far away as possible and ignored everything I said, I knew she hated me and it was killing me, slowly.

“Hannah’s going to be better soon,” Zack said, taking a seat on the sofa next to me.

“How? What kind of miracle is happening that she’s going to suddenly feel better?” I asked.

“Erin is flying Hannah’s mom out here,” He smiled widely.

“Whoa!” I said loudly, standing up and looking at him “The mother of the woman I love, who hates me is coming out here?” I asked and he nodded “This is not going to help me in the slightest, Hannah will tell her mom what I did, making her hate me and she’ll help Hannah push me out,”

“Dude,” Zack chuckled “Don’t jump to conclusions, from what I heard her mom is a very reasonable, kind and loving woman who would help anyone, no matter what they did, so even though you seriously fucked up, if you talk to her I’m sure she would help you,”

Right now we were trying to find out where Sarah, Erin’s sister was since she was the one working with Kevin and Andrew, she also had the government connections, motherfucking shit, they could totally take us down given the fact that the two men were tied up under our feet right now, not to mention Val drama and now… Gena drama.

My phone started ringing in my pocket with the ‘DO NOT ANSWER THIS CALL’ ringtone, which meant that once again, Val was calling me.

“What?” I groaned into the phone, ignoring the ringtone since I answered it anyway, I needed to get this psycho off my back.

“Are you coming over tonight?” She asked, I could see her now, twirling her blonde hair around her finger and chewing her gum, she was chewing gum, it was loud and I could hear it through the phone.

“We’ve been over this,” I told her as I ran my hand over my face “I’m never coming back, because of you, I ruined the best relationship I ever had, you need to stay the fuck away from me, goodbye,”

“You hang up on me and I will cut through her neck until I feel bone!” She yelled and I stopped, putting the phone back to my ear “That’s what I fucking thought, see baby? I still have you wrapped around my little finger,”

“You’ve always been all talk, Val, just stay the fuck away from us, all of us,” Before she could say anything I hung up the phone. That was the reason I had stayed with her so long, I’d never admit that I, M Shadows, was once a victim of domestic abuse, but I was, my psychotic ex-girlfriend forced me to stay with her by threatening me and my friends.

The next morning I woke on the very familiar sofa in the girl’s living room, the sun pouring through the blinds, Jimmy, Brian and Johnny crashed on different pieces of furniture spread around the room, snoring either very loudly or just softly.

“Matt,” Erin whispered, walking into the living room while quietly slipping on her shoes “Get ready, we’re going to get Hannah’s mom from the airport and take her for breakfast and do something about getting Hannah back,”

Hannah’s P.O.V
When I woke up this morning I had a strange feeling that today was going to be a good day, or maybe that was just because I’d gone 24 hours without having to be anywhere near Matt, I think he finally took the hint the other day and has officially decided we’ll get on better with all of this if he leaves me alone.

I showered, dried and straightened my hair, which added extra length causing it to stop just above my ass. I dressed in a tight, navy blue play suit that had big white buttons on the straps, it looked kind of like a sailor outfit and I loved it. I slipped a pair of white converse on my feet and headed downstairs.

“Where is everyone?” I asked Johnny since he was the only person in the living room, and by the sounds of it, the whole house.

“Erin and Matt went to run some errands, Brian went home for a while and Jimmy and Zack are out doing some more work,” He told me as I flopped onto the sofa beside him, joining him in watching crappy daytime TV.

Eventually I got bored and decided I wanted a change of scenery, so I grabbed Erin’s guitar from her office and headed into the back yard. I loved being in the garden and I hadn’t really been out here much since we moved in. I found a nice place on the grass where there was a circle of sunlight hitting and I sat in it, getting into position with the guitar and started playing Amy MacDonald – This is the Life.

“You always did love that song,” The familiar, loving voice of my mother said from behind m causing me to jump up and whirl around.

“MUM!” I screamed, taking off towards her and jumping at her, luckily she was strong and not a frail old woman because she caught me and kept her balance.

“Easy babes,” She chuckled “As much as I wish you were, you’re not a little girl anymore,”

“What are you doing here?” I asked as I put my feet back on the ground, wiping away the tears and looking at the woman who looked so similar to me but older and with much shorter hair.

“Erin flew me out here, to give me peace of mind for a while and to hopefully cheer you up,” She smiled, wrapping her arm around Erin’s shoulders. I smiled at Erin and started to cry again as I hugged her too.

“Thank you, E,” I whispered.

“Hey,” She said, pulling me off of her so she could look at me “I knew your mom would cheer you up,” As she pulled me back into a hug, I looked behind her and into the house and saw all of the guys, including Matt, standing inside talking, occasionally looking out at us.

“Hey mum,” I said “You want to meet the guys?” I asked.

“Alright,” She said.
We walked into the house and all of the guys stopped talking, looking between me and my mum.

“Guys, this is my mamma,” I said, but before anyone could say anything, my mother did what she does best… embarrassed me.

“OH MY GOD IT’S AVENGED FUCKING SEVENFOLD!” She screamed like a complete fan girl, just like I would have done.

“Wow, you really do not have any shame, do you?” I asked rhetorically with a laugh, wrapping my arm around her torso and cuddling into her.

“Are you Hannah’s sister?” Jimmy asked, stepping forward and hugging my mother.

“Funny Jim, step back, she’s a married woman,” I laughed, slapping Jimmy away so that the rest of the guys could welcome her.

“So how long are you here for?” I asked my mum as the two of us walked down the pier, eating our ice creams.

“I’m here for the week, but I have to go back to your dad and work,” She sounded a little sad, a little bit about working but mainly about leaving again, I knew she loved the states and me, she would love to live out here “When are you going to come home for a visit?” She asked.

“I’m not sure,” I shrugged “Whenever I have the chance and the money I guess,”

“No,” She said, pointing a long finger at me “You will not pay your way out there, Erin flew me out here with money out of her own pocket, so I will pay for the two of you to come over to Scotland for a week,” I couldn’t help but laugh at my mum, she was exactly the same as my grandma, her mother, kind, loving and always buying you shit.

“So, have you officially adopted Erin now?” I asked and mum nodded “What have I missed back home?” I asked.

“Don’t you check Facebook?” She asked, God, why did I ever make her a Facebook profile?

“No,” I laughed.

“Lucy got engaged,” She said and I broke out in a huge smile and a shocked expression at the same time.

“I can’t believe she never called to tell me,”

“You changed your phone number, remember?”

“Oh, shit, yeah,”

“You can come out in time for the wedding then,” She smiled smugly and I slapped her arm

“Come on,” She said, taking my hand and leading me back to my car.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“Back to the house to get ready for dinner,”

“Can’t we just pick something up?” I asked, thinking I could really go another Taco Bell.

“No, we’re going out,”

I’d been shoved back into the shower before having my hair and makeup done for me, I loved it when my mum did that, it made me feel like a little girl again.

I was then dressed in a cream sun dress type thing since it was a nice night, cream pumps on my feet to match, my hair was now in waves and my makeup was kept to a natural minimum.

“Mummy,” I whined “Why aren’t you dressed up?” I asked.

“I’m staying here with the boys tonight,” She said, cracking open a beer and high fiving Johnny.

“What?” I asked, looking around the room, seeing everyone smiling at me then it clicked that Matt wasn’t there and no one else was dressed up “No,” I said “No, no, fucking no,” I said.

“Come on,” Brian said “He’s waiting,”

“I’m not going,” I said, stomping my foot.

“Because you stomped your foot, you’ve forced me to do this,” Brian sighed deeply before throwing me over his shoulder.

“BRIAN!” I screamed, frantically trying to cover my now almost completely exposed ass “Put me down!”

“Okay,” He shrugged, but instead of actually putting me down he threw me into his car and ran around to the driver’s side and climbed in, quickly speeding off before I could get out.

“Why?” I asked, slightly pissed.

“Because, you need to give him a chance,”

Matt’s P.O.V
Brian’s car pulled up at the park where everything was set up, a small band sat just in the opening in the woodland, the candles and the stars were the only lighting surrounding me and the table where out plates were covered to keep the food warm. Brian moved around to the passenger side of the car and opened the door, holding out a hand for Hannah, when she stepped out, although she had a slightly pissed look on her face she had never looked more gorgeous. I gave the band the signal and they started playing Unchained Melody as Hannah walked closer and Brian drove away.

“What is this?” Hannah asked with a chuckle, her face softening. I did nothing but hold out my hand for her, she hesitantly took it and I wasted no time as the song reached the chorus in moving us into a full on ballroom dance and made a mental note to thank Zack for forcing me to learn to dance all those years ago.

The song reached its climax and I swooped Hannah down and pressed my lips against hers, she did nothing, she didn’t kiss me back. I stood her back up and searched her face for something, praying that I hadn’t ruined this.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that I-“

“Shut up,” She said, cutting me off “Just let me see something for a second,” She said again, placing her hand on either side of my face, standing on her tip toes a little, it was adorable how even in heels she still needed to do that to reach my height and then… she kissed me. It wasn’t hot or sexual, filled with lust or passion, it was just a kiss. Then, she did something else that surprised me, she melted into it, making me melt into it also.

“What was that for?” I asked when she pulled away with a huge smile tugging at her lips.

“I just wanted to check that I still love you,” She said smugly.

“And? What’s the verdict?”

“I do,”

Hannah’s P.O.V
After dinner at the fancy set up in the middle of the park, which consisted of hotdogs and ice cream, Matt and I danced to a few slow love songs and he sang most of them quietly into my ear.

He had explained everything and although I didn’t fully understand it, she was his ex, they had been together forever and I was completely different, and sure, he didn’t know if we were together or not, so I forgave him. I would forever hold a grudge like I do with everyone, but for the post part I was forgiving him… I loved him too much to hate him.

“You ready to go home?” He asked.

“Yeah,” I smiled into his muscular chest.

We got in his car and he drove us back to the house, all of the cars were still there so I knew that everyone was still home, there had been no interruptions with phone calls or texts in over three hours, meaning that everything was fine. We got out of the car and Matt started to walk inside and I stood still, holding my shoes in my hands.

“What’s the matter?” Matt asked.

“I want a piggy back ride,” I said like a child and he gave me the ‘really?’ look and I nodded “Now please,”

Matt came back over to me, turned his back to me and bent down so that I could jump on, when I did he charged at the house and burst through the front door with me screaming on his back. What we found out was not exactly surprising, but you would have thought my mother wasn’t my mother at all, but in fact, my sister.

Erin was straddling Zack on the sofa and they were swapping a lot of saliva. Brian was doing shots with my mum and I noticed him shoot three glares at the smooching couple on the couch in thirty seconds and Jimmy was holding Johnny by the ankles and shaking him violently, making him laugh like a little boy.

“Bedroom?” Matt asked.

“Yes please,” I grinned, climbing around his body and he took me into his arms and carried me bridal style through the living room and up the stairs.

“For the love of God!” My mother called out “Use protection, I don’t need to be a granny yet!” she then started laughing hysterically and that was followed by a loud thud and more laughing. No, she was not an alcoholic and definitely couldn’t hold her liquor.

Matt walked into my bedroom, his eyes never leaving mine, they were filled with love and the smile on his face made me melt.

“I can’t believe you’re mine,” He whispered, kicking the door shut behind him and locking us in for the night.
