“God, what the hell are you doing?!” zacky asked with some kind of concern when he entered the barn to give me soup, and found me hitting my back against the wall really hard. I didn’t pay attention to him and kept hitting the wall. “Stop!” he finally crouched in front of me and grabbed my arms not letting me move.
“What are you doing?!” he asked again, quirking an eyebrow.
“Why do you care?” I answered trying to get free from his grip with no success. “Let go off me!” I complained.
“Why are you hitting yourself? Your back is bleeding!” he said with real concern. I stopped when I saw his face. Does he actually…care? I held his stare until my vision blurred with tears. I had a lot of feelings running through me at the same time. I was angry; I was scared, I was somewhat happy.
“Why?”
“Huh?”
“Why did you leave me here these past two weeks all alone?! Why didn’t you come?!” I scolded with anger as I tried to get free once again.
“Ginger, calm down.”
“No! Why the fuck should I calm down? Do you know how it feels to be locked up in a room with no human contact? Without being able to talk to someone, to do something interesting, to just fucking sit outside and watch the sky?!” I shouted. I was really mad, and maybe I was going a little bit crazy.
Zacky sighed deeply.
“This is fucking hell, zacky.” I whispered as tears began to fall.
“It was shadows’ order. He told us not to touch you, or even talk to you. That’s also why Amanda is now locked up in the attic.” I snapped my head in his direction at the mention of Amanda’s name.
“She’s still alive?” I asked him.
“Yeah.” I sighed in relief. At least they haven’t killed her…yet. “But believe me, it wasn’t my decision.” He explained.
“So why are you talking to me right now?”
“Cause I want to, and also because shadow’s not here so he won’t know I talked to you. And…to stop you from breaking your back.” He blushed at the end. I couldn’t help the small smile that appeared in my face.
“Well…thank you.” I said.
His face went blank again. “Yeah, whatever. Take your soup, I’ll be back later.” He handed me the bowl, and stood up. What the fuck? Talking about bipolar people.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I asked him quirking an eyebrow.
“Uh, nothing.”
“Yeah, right. Then what the fuck just happened?” I asked.
“I just gave you the soup. What, did you want, a kiss or something?” he said rudely.
“Wow, what’s with the attitude? Why did you suddenly decided to be an asshole?”
“I didn’t, I’m like this all the time. It’s not my fault you hadn’t noticed before.” I shook my head in disbelief.
“You’re not like that, zacky, and you know it.”
“How would you know? You don’t even know me!” he snapped.
“Maybe I don’t know you entirely, but the little bit I know is that you certainly are not like this!” I replied, and my voice cracked.
“Oh, sorry to break your little bubble, but that is utter bullshit! C’mon ginger, snap out of that fairytale already! You’re falling for a fucking serial killer.”
“And you think I haven’t noticed already?! I fucking know it! I know it, and you know what? I don’t give a damn about it! I’m as fucked up as a person can be, so what’s the matter if I fall for you? I really don’t give a shit about anything anymore!” I cried.
Zacky looked at me with a hard expression on his face for a while.
“Get down from your little cloud. You’re too grown up already to know better than this.” He whispered, and then left the barn.
My face got bright red with anger. I screamed as loud as I could, and threw away the bowl with soup, which crashed against the other wall, breaking in pieces, and leaving a mess on the floor. I buried my face between my knees, and sobbed until I had no more tears left.
