Unholy Nightmare

Feeling Way too Damn Good

After the conversation Violet and I had about her asthma and the terms she wanted me to insist on the guys, I had went to bed thinking. She was really good at hiding a condition that ultimately could have killed her if someone here didn't know. I had looked at the inhaler she had given me for most of the night before I had fallen victim to sleep and I know I haven't known this girl very long but for some reason I feel the need to protect her as if she was my child. I don't if it's out of pity from what she's been through or what but I guess I'll never figure that out. The next morning when I had woken up and eaten breakfast with the others, I decided to let the guys know about what Violet told me last night. We took a break from working on our electrified barbed wire fence and this was the perfect opportunity to inform them.

"Hey guys there's something I need to tell you. I mean besides you Jimmy since you already know." I said and Johnny, Zacky, and Brian looked at me confused.

"What does Jimmy know that we don't?"

"Well last night when I went to get some sleep after working hard on this fence, I found a note in my room from Violet asking me to come to her room because she had something very important to tell me." I said as we sat in the grass underneath a shady tree.

"What did she want?" I didn't say anything but instead I pulled out the 3 inhalers she had given me.

"Did Violet give you these?"

"Yes but she asked me to tell you guys that she doesn't want to be treated differently now that you know about her having asthma. She wants to be treated just like she was before you all knew about this." I explained.

"How did Jimmy find out about her condition?"

"When we went to that store that had everything in it that's about 6 towns back. Matt had asked me to check up on her and when I had gotten to the pharmacy section of the store, I seen her taking 2 hits from the inhaler before putting it back into her pocket. She told me that no one needed to know about a condition that she's been able to control but her last serious asthma attack was a few days after her birthday only 6 months ago. I told her that she needed to tell Matt because he's better at getting the point across to people and if she hadn't told him...I was going to tell him myself." Jimmy explained and I could help but feel disappointed in Violet but she's still a good kid and what she thinks she should tell people is her business and I have a feeling she would have eventually told us or we could have found out about it the hard way.

"I would be freaked out of my mind if she had an asthma attack and we didn't have the medication to help her." Zacky said honestly. I knew I would be. I mean this young girl is tough as tough gets but she's apart of a family now.

"We all would Zacky. I mean she's apart of the Avenged Family now and she's our friend."

"Why don't we give her a proper welcome to our family?" Jimmy said smiling and we all knew exactly what he meant but we have to finish the task at hand first.

"That's a great idea! We can get out our shit and give her and the others a little concert and maybe she'll come out of her shell more knowing that she is really accepted."

"We got to get this fence done first before we can relax." I said and they nodded. I can't wait to get this fence done so I can do the one thing I've always loved and that's entertaining. We finished our break and worked together to get the rest of the fencing done and hooked up to the batteries. We tested the fence and it worked perfectly. Now we have to get an area ready for the activities tonight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Violet's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I looked over towards the side door as the guys came in and Jimmy looked me right in the eyes and nodded once confirming that Matt had told them. I smiled back at him and they all ate the lunch I prepared before hightailing it away from everyone. They had formed a little huddle and were whispering about something. I wonder what they're up to now? Who knows with them boys. Mylo and I continued playing with her dolls and the smile that came to her face warmed my heart so much but it also kept my guard on full alert. She's so happy but that could always change and I'll do anything to make sure this little girl never has to experience the horrible shit that I went through in my 15 years of life.
I glanced towards where the guys were in their huddle but they were no longer present in the room. I guess they all went to do something else. I mean it's none of my business what they do. I watched Mylo sift through the doll clothing until she found a dress that even I would wear and I'm not even girly.
"What's she getting all dressed up for?" I asked curiously.
"She's getting ready to go to a formal ball and you're invited of course."
"Oh! Well I better find me a dress to put on." I said in mock excitement. I went through the dresses until I found a long evening gown that sparkled red in the light that lit up the building. Mylo complemented me on the dress I had picked out for the doll and we pretended that we were at one spectacular ball. I seen the smile that was planted on Mylo's face as she hummed a familiar tune and the 2 dolls she had danced. I never want that smile to fade.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Matt's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We had set up everything that we needed in the large room where the individually built bedrooms were and now all we need is an audience. Jimmy started drumming a steady beat and only a few seconds later had everyone showed up.

"Violet, can you come here please?" I asked her and she came over really confused as to what was going on.

"What's all this Matt?"

"We wanted to show you that you're welcomed into our family no matter what the world is like and with all the heartache and tragedy that has struck such a young person's life you need to know that you're loved by all these guys that are in this band. You are our family and we want to welcome you into a home that will never give up on you or abandon you." I said and the smile that lit up her face made my heart flutter. I could see her fighting back the emotion that she was feeling. I looked back at Jimmy and he started playing one of our songs.

All the time I sang her eyes never left me and the smile never went away on her precious face. By the end of the song she couldn't keep the tears from escaping her eyes and she wrapped me in an embrace. I could tell she touched by the way she didn't want to let me go but I can't help but feel like this girl is one of my own. My flesh and blood and when this is all over...I want to make her my official daughter. I'm feeling way to damn good so something has to go wrong but I will try my damnedest not to ever let that happen.

Notes

Comments? Sorry I haven't updated in days...lots of crap to get done but not enough daylight to get it done in. Anyways, isn't Matt just the sweetest person in the world wanting to take Violet and make him his own daughter? I actually almost cried myself while I was writing this chapter. I know I'm just a semi old softy.
