6 Years later…

“Guess what they just asked me???” Heather cried next to me. She was still starring at her phone.
“I don´t know… who was on the phone?” I looked at her confused.
“They offered me a job in L.A. Can you believe that? What should I do?”
“Wow… Heather that is just amazing! Will you do it? And when would the job start?”
Heather stared at me. I waved my hand in front of her face.
“When?”
“In 2 weeks… I cannot go alone. What should I do?”
We discussed the whole situation and came to only one conclusion.

We were sitting in Heather´s new apartment in L.A. and she told me everything about her new Job.
The only conclusion was that we will go together and start a new chapter of our live in the U.S.! She already got the job and everything was working out the way it should.
I had a job interview today and hoped to keep up with her.

I walked into the Studio to my Job Interview. I looked at my watch to check if I was in time.
I opened the door and ran directly into somebody who was standing at the reception counter. He grabbed me with both hands to steady me.
“Sorry… I didn´t mean to…”
He just stared at me and had still both of his hands on my hips.
“It´s ok. I can stand on my own now. But thank you.”
Still he doesn’t say a word. Then I took the time to really look at him.He was really tall and had soft brown eyes. His face was just breathtaking…
“Hmm… Are you Mrs. Connor?” A head popped around the corner of the reception desk and looked at me in question.
I turned around slightly and nodded my head. “Yes. That would be me.”
The man behind the desk “Is there anything I can do for you Mr. Haner? Or is that all?”
The man with the brown eyes now stepped away from me with a slight shake of his head.
“Sorry. I didn´t mean to stare. My name is Brian. And you would be?”
“Hi, I´m Mia Connor here for the Job Interview. I hope I´m not too late?”
“No, Mrs. Connor will you just follow me in the back I will be with you in a minute. Thank you.” The man behind the desk came forward and brought me into another room down the hall.

The Interview took only 30 min. and I got the job. First only on probation period but that would be better than nothing.
I stepped outside and wanted to call Heather to inform her that we had to find a club to celebrate the day. When someone called my name in the distance “Mia..Mia.. wait..”
I turned around and saw Brian from the reception running toward me.
“Hi… and how does the interview go?”
“Everything went fine. Thanks.”
“Hey… would you like to go out with me tomorrow… I´ll pick you up for lunch?”
“Well… I don´t really know you…”
“Come on, Mia.. pretty please. Just a little snack? It won´t hurt…”
“Ok.. ok..”
“Here´s my number, I`ll be here by 1. If anything changes just call me.”

He started to walk away then turned around and smiled at me, that was the moment when my heart went into hyperdrive.
