Forgotten Faces

So the last day arrived…
Our plane would leave in the next hour. I was really excited to see my family and friends but on the other hand I was so sad because I knew I would never see Matt or Jimmy again.

Heather was still trying to deny that she really liked Jimmy. And when I looked at Jimmy that feeling was mutual.

Matt and Jimmy drove us to the Airport. They were also heading home today but took the time to say a proper goodbye.

We were at our Gate and the time was up. I smiled a little at Matt and he pulled me into his arms. I looked into his eyes and whispered to him “I will miss you, Matt.” Slowly a tear was running down my cheek and Matt kissed it away. “I will miss you, too. I will call you I promise.” I shook my head.
“Yes, I will call you and you will talk to me on the phone. Got me?”
I looked at Matt “Ok. We have to go, now…”
He hugged me even tighter and was hungrily catching my lips. Both of his hands cupped my face and brought me even closer. After a few more seconds his kiss became a little slower and sweeter. That was his way to say goodbye…

The first call from Matt came 1 week after our departure.
“Hey Mia, sorry we were really busy. How are you? I do miss you…”
“No problem, same here. I got a job and well not so much spare time…”
We talked for a little while and hung up.

The next call was 3 weeks later… I saw it on my Display: 1 missed call by Matt.
I decided not to call back. We agreed that we didn’t want to make it harder on us then it was anyway. It was just holiday flirtation…

2 Days later he tried it again.

Then a Message:
Hi,
You must be busy I tried to call you again.
Just call me back when you got the time.
Matt

It was so hard for me but I never called him back and deleted his number…
