Forgotten Faces

Mia´s POV

Matt had stolen my second key and came over whenever he liked.It doesn’t really matter to me because he always saw me on my couch watching TV or sleeping.
But today he came over really early brought me breakfast.
“Matt you really don’t need to come over every day. I´m feeling better and I´m really sorry that you saw me this whole month… I mean when I was at my worst. I owe you.”
I kissed his cheek.
He looked a little surprised, “Oh well… then this will be even easier than I thought.”
“What do you mean? What will be easier?”
“We are going to a Club tonight with all our friends… Hold on hold on… Let me finish. Yes, Brian will be there. And yes you have to go. And now I tell you why.
First: You owe me.Second: You didn’t even know that your best friends Heather and Jimmy are together know. Or did you? No… So, they invited us all to the Club and I promised to bring you. And I will keep my promise!”
“I don’t get a say in this?” I asked him and already knew the answer.
“Nope. Heather will be here in about 1 hour and will go shopping with you. After that we will meet again at the Club by eight. Ahh.. and I nearly forgot. Third: I might have an idea how we can make this a little more difficult for Brian than he thought.”
That got my attention, “What do you mean??”
“Well, I thought you have nothing to lose now, maybe we can make him a little jealous and then he will see what he lost… what do you think?!” Matt suggested.
For a little moment I really considered this option but that wouldn’t change a thing.
“I don’t know Matt. I don’t think that he even wants to see me and that he won’t be interested in the least what I am doing or with whom I am doing it…”
“We will see… now get ready. Heather will be here soon and believe me honey, your grace period is over now. You will party tonight with us and you will have fun.”

Heather and I spent more than 3 hours shopping. She filled me in on all the things I missed during my breakdown. “Heather, I am so sorry I was such a bad friend I didn’t know it was getting serious with you and Jimmy. I am so happy for you. He is such a great guy. I knew you two would fit together perfectly.”
“Oh honey I´m so happy that you will join us this evening. We will have so much fun and maybe we will find you a new guy to bump into this evening.” She meant it as a joke but still when I heard the story´s which include Brian and me it still hurts a little. That it was so easy for him to break up should make me aware that he was more important to me then I was to him.
She saw my face, “Oh Mia sorry… that was my fault… it still hurts does it? Believe me, I still can’t understand why he couldn’t let the past be past and just be happy with you. He is a jerk.”

Jimmy´s POV

I drove into Brian´s driveway quietly shut the engine off and quickly got over the fence into his garden.
Then I opened his terrace door and went inside. It was really quite. But his car was in the garage and I noticed the lights upstairs. I grabbed a beer from the fridge and took a seat at the kitchen counter.

I heard a muffled voice from upstairs then the voices grew louder. Brian emerged from the stairs only in Shorts. “Wait…I will grab me a Beer and come right back…!” he shouted to his companion.
He walked into the kitchen and I stepped behind him while he grabbed a beer from the fridge. “Buuuuhhhh” I cried next to his ear.
He spun around, “WHAT THE FUCK…JIMMY…! I will get a fucking heart attack if you keep doing that... damn it.”
“So who is upstairs?” I asked him curious.
“That is none of your fucking business, James. What do you want?! Or was that all?!” Brian opened his Beer and nearly downed it in one gulp.
“I wanted to remind you that we will be going out tonight and expect you to come!” I reminded him.
“Yeah sure, I´ll be there. Just text me when and where and I’ll be there!” Brian looked not so interested.
“OK, so… I should inform you that Mia will be there…! She is Heather´s best friend and Matt told me that she will come.”
“Oh Matt told you that? So they are together now or what?” I could see that the thought of them together didn’t sit well with Brian.
“Not as far as I know. But why would you care? You broke up with her… and she was really devastated after that. And I can´t believe that you let her go just because of something that happened more than 6 years in the past. I know you better then that Brian you were so in love with her and just throw it away…”
“Jimmy we already had this conversation. And it doesn’t matter how often you bring this up it won’t change a damned thing.” Brian wanted to turn around, but I had to try one last thing.
“So when you will see her with another guy. No problem? Or let’s say after you pushed her into Matt´s arms with your behavior that will be no problem for you?!”
“Fuck…Jimmy… No, it will be no problem. You will see tonight. Now get the fuck out.” He shoved me to the door.
“Brian Baby… I am waiting for you. Should I start undressing?”
On the stairs I saw a blonde woman with large breast nearly contained in a top with the a7x- logo on it.
I looked at Brian in question, “Really… that desperate?”
“Go back upstairs I will be there in a minute.” Brian motioned for the blonde chick to go back.
She stayed and looked my way, “He can join us. I don´t mind.”
I shook my head at her and him. That is not the Brian I knew.

Brian´s POV

After Jimmy left I felt like the biggest ass in town. I had this blonde chick upstairs who could definitely give me some pleasure. Still I could think of no one but Mia. I can´t get her out of my head. And when I´m near her, I can´t stand the idea that Matt was with her. What the fuck is wrong with me. I talked to Matt only business- like and yet he was one of my best friends. This whole situation is so wrong. But what can I do?!
“Hey… Molly. Can you come downstairs?” Was that even her name?
“My name is Mandy. But sure we can do it in the kitchen if you like.” Oh so not Molly, doesn’t matter anyway.
“Ok, so listen, I´m sorry but you have to go. I can´t do that. Please just go.”
She looked stunned, “You don’t know what you will miss, Brian.” Than she grabbed her bag and without another word left my house.
