I woke up around one am on the first night at the new house because something Cold touched my tummy. I looked and it was Brayden's hands, she was visibly shaking, it was cold in the house. I pulled her to me and pulled the think comforter up.
"I'm cold." She said
"I know baby girl. I'm going to try and warm you up." I said
She nodded and wrapped my arms around her and she laced her legs with mine.
"You're so warm." She shivered
"I have more clothes on." I said
She laughed and stuck her nose in the crook of my neck.
"Jesus." I said at the shock of the coldness
"Sorry baby." She said
"I have an idea." I said
I wrapped her up in the comforter and got out of bed, I left and checked on Payson, she was sound asleep. It's was warmer in her room than ours. I walked back into our room and went into the master bathroom I drew a warm bath and went back an got Brayden.
"I love you." She said as I undressed her and me.
I picked her up and put us both in the bathtub.
"You're the best." She mumbled.
"I know." I said
I kissed her neck
"It's just our bedroom that is that cold." I said
"Again?" She asked
"Yep." I said
She sighed and laughed. I continued to kiss the side of her neck.
"Warming up?" I asked
"Yes. Baby this is one of the reasons I love you." She said
"Sitting in a warm bath with you?" I asked
She giggled a bit and shook her head and laid it on my chest.
"You worry about others before yourself especially Payson and I. You always put family first. You're the best husband, father and, best friend. We've been married for just about three years, I'm hardly old enough to drink but you don't care how young I am. Without you there would be no me. Baby I still fall more in love with you every day and I don't think that is ever going to change. That’s some of why I love you." She said
I looked down at her and she was looking up at me, I leaned down and kissed her.
“I love you Brayden Adrian Sullivan.” I said
“I love you too James Owen Sullivan.” She said
“Want to try and go back to sleep?” I asked
“Yeah.” She said
“You’re going to need warmer clothes.” I said
“I have sweats.” She said
“I’ll go get your clothes. Stay.” I said
I climbed out from behind her and got out of the tub, I dried off and pulled my boxers and pajama pants back on, I walked into the bedroom and grabbed her one of my hoodies and a pair of her sweatpants. I walked back into the bathroom and she was out of the water drying off, of course Brayden doesn’t sleep in a bra or underwear, which used to be weird for me because Lea did so I was used to that. I handed her the pants and she pulled them on.
“We should take Payson into the pool tomorrow.” She said
“I think she’d love that.” I said
Brayden pulled the hoodie over her and I drained the water from the bathtub.
“You know what sucks?” She asked
“What?” I asked
“We have a hottub and I can’t use it until he’s born.” She said
“Yeah I heard Dr. tell you that last week.” I said
“Oh shwell I can still swim.” She smiled
“So tomorrow we’ll set up the living room furniture up and take P into the pool.” I said
She nodded and I took her hand and led us back into the room.
“Much better, still a little chilly.” She said
“Not once you’re under the comforter.” I said
She nodded and we climbed into bed.
“Thank you baby.” She said
“Anything for you.” I said
I kissed her nose and cuddled with her, soon we fell back asleep, it was around two in the morning.
“Daddy wake up!” Payson yelled
She was jumping on the bed with her little feet trying to wake me up.
“Daddy wake up!” Brayden said
I laughed and gently pulled both of them two me.
“You two are my favorite girls ever.” I said
I kissed Payson’s nose and kissed Brayden on the lips.
“My most favoritest girls ever. How did I get so lucky?” I smiled
Payson hugged me and jumped off the bed and ran downstairs.
“Breakfast baby.” Brayden said
She got out of bed after kissing me and I watched her walk away, she was in shorts and a tank top, her belly showing so much in the tight shirt, she had her bikini on under it as well. I smiled to myself and got out of bed, I just took my pants and boxers off and pulled my swimming trunks on and a tank top. I walked down to the eat in kitchen and breakfast was out on the table, pancakes, toast, bacon and eggs.
“This looks awesome baby.” I said kissing Brayden again.
“I helped.” Payson said
“Really? Well then Baby Payson this looks amazing.” I said leaning down to her height as she stood on a chair.
“The pancakes are banana.” Brayden said
“You figured out how to make them?” I asked
“Yes.” She smiled
“Yay.” I said
She laughed and we all sat down and ate breakfast together as a family like we do every morning, after breakfast I did the dishes with the help of my adorable assistant Payson. When we were done Payson was sitting in the middle of the living room playing with some of her toys as Brayden and I carefully moved the couches into the position we wanted them in. We finished the living room around noon and Payson was listening to a book to keep her entertained as we moved furniture around.
“It looks good.” I said
“It’s amazing.” Brayden said
We had it set up so when all of the guys and girls come over there is more than enough room, the baby cage was still in the corner but it is where an end table for the couches would go so the kids can see everything going on. Just as we were about to sit down and take a break before going out into the pool Brayden’s phone rang.
“Hello?” She answered putting it on speaker.
“Sup girl.” Madison said
“What’s up?” Brayden asked
“Brian and I are about to go over and see the new neighbors; we were wondering if you wanted to come with.” She said
“They aren’t my neighbors.” I laughed
“Gosh fine.” Madison said playfully.
“Call me and tell me how it goes.” I said
“Yes ma’am.” Madison said
Brayden hung up and started laughing.
“Well this should be a surprise for them.” I said
She smiled and Payson walked over to us.
“Baby girl do you want to go swimming in a little bit?” Brayden asked her
“YES!” Payson yelled
“After auntie Madison and Uncle Brian comes over we’ll go get you in your swim suit.” She said
Payson smiled and I laughed, the doorbell went off and Brayden stifled a laugh and picked Payson up carrying her on her hip. We opened the door at the same time and smiled at our friends.
“What the fudge bag!” Madison yelled
Brayden laughed and Brian was just looking at me, Madison pulled out her phone and made a phone call, Brayden’s phone went off and she answered
“Hello?” Brayden laughed
“So the neighbors are this really mean couple that didn’t tell us they were moving in down the street.” Madison said
“I didn’t know.” Brayden said hanging up the phone
Madison, Brian and Nate came into the house and I set Payson down and her and Nate started chasing each other around.
“What do you mean you didn’t know?” She asked
“We looked at the house about a month ago and Jimmy didn’t tell me he made an offer on it that day, apparently he had been moving our stuff here little by little every day for a month and last night he surprised me by showing me.” Brayden said
“This house is bad ass.” Brian said
“Right. And now we live right down the street instead of forty-five minutes away.” Jimmy smiled
“This is awesome, show me around mama.” Madison said
Brayden took Madison’s hand and took off to show her around.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Brian asked
“It was a surprise for everyone. No one else knows, I figured tonight we would have a pool party here to celebrate the new house.” I said
“Sounds like a plan. What is with the sudden move?” He asked
“Well our son will be here in four months and we didn’t have enough space at the other house, and we had a little pest keep showing up at our door.” I said
“Who?” Brian asked
“Lea.” I said
“Oh. Well maybe when she sees the for sale sign on the door she’ll back off.” He said
“Hopefully. I think it’ll be funny if when she goes back different people are living there.” I smiled
“That would be hilarious.” Brian said
I smiled.
“So tonight I will call the guys and tell them to meet at my house and we’ll all walk over here and tada they are amazed.” Brian said
“Sounds like a plan too. No kids tonight though, I think Papa Gates will take the three.” I said
“I’ll talk to him.” Brian said
I nodded.
“Well Madison, Nate and I have a doctor’s appointment and then a date with grandma.” Brian said
“Jenifer?” I asked
“No Madison’s mom.” He said
“Have fun.” I said
He laughed and Madison came skipping in with Nate, she hugged me and left. I closed the door and Brayden came down with Payson already in her bathing suit, Brayden had taken off her clothes and she was in her bikini.
“You look adorable with the baby belly.” I smiled
She smiled and I pulled my shirt off and laid it on the couch. We took Payson outside to look at the pool.
“Am I gonna fall?” She asked pointing at the edge that looked over the ocean.
“There is a glass wall there sweet heart you are very safe.” I said
She smiled and I blew up a baby inertube floaty thing for her and I got into the pool with it. Brayden handed me Payson and I put her feet in the holes.
“See you’re safe.” I said
Brayden walked in and swam over to the glass wall and looked at the ocean.
“It’s beautiful.” She said
“Wait until we see it at sunset tonight.” I said
“What’s going on tonight?” I asked
“Papa Gates is taking the three kids and the guys and gals are coming here to have a celebration party about the new house.” I said
“Ouh now I’m excited.” She said
“Pwetty.” Payson said pointing at the ocean.
“Just like you and your mommy.” I said
Payson laughed and we swam around the pool with her in the floaty.
