No Pulse Inside of Me

Chapter 4

Synyster Gates POV:
We arrived back at the house in record time. I carried Tammy in, her blood soaking my clothes. I didn’t care. I made my way to the infirmary, Johnny right behind me. “Put her on the metal table, and start washing the blood off her arms.” I laid her down and pulled up the shower hose attached to it. Turning the water on I started to wash the blood off her arms. Johnny quickly got out a bag of blood and an IV bag. He went to start the IV when he noticed something. “She was a drug addict.” he said. “How do you know that?” I asked. “Look at her arm. There are needle scars. No track marks. They are old.” he said as he started her on blood and fluids. I looked closer and noticed more scars. “Look at her hands.” I told Johnny. There were circular scars in the center of each hand. Identical on the top and the palm. Like something went through them. I continued to wash away the blood as more scars came into view. Similar scars on her shoulders as her hands, only they didn’t come out the other side. On her torso you could see many from either being cut or stabbed. Probably both. I’ve tortured people before, and judging from these scars Slipknot wasn’t the first to get to her. I washed my way down her legs seeing the same circular scars on her calves along with others. Johnny was working on closing up the fresh stabs and cuts. I got to her feet and found a different scar on the bottom of them. A burn scar completely covering the bottoms of her feet. “Johnny come here.” He paused and looked at her feet. “This was caused by an intense direct flame,” he said examining further. “There was muscle damage in some areas. The flame was held there longer.” “Blow torch?” I asked. “More than likely.” he said returning to the cuts.
I left the infirmary for a moment to find Jimmy. He was in his computer room frantically typing away. “Hey.” I said walking in “What’s up?” he asked not looking away from the many monitors in front of him. “Can you find out all you can on Tammy?” “Already on it.” he said “Swiped Jeff’s ID while he was out cold on the ground.” he said waving it in the air still not looking away from the screens. I chuckled thinking back to the moment. “Let me know what you find.” I said heading for the door. “Can do.” he said as I closed the door.
I made my way back to the infirmary to see Johnny done stitching and gluing, and now bandaging. The pint of blood and IV bag were almost empty. I helped him bandage, and held her up while he slipped a hospital gown on her. “Move her to the bed.” I picked her up and moved her Johnny next to me guiding the IV stand. I laid her down, and Johnny reached up her gown removing her blood and water soaked undergarments. He hooked up a heart monitor, and changed out the IV bag and hooked up another pint of blood. Covering her he raised the sides of the bed, and sighed. “What do you think Shads is going to with her?” he asked. “I don’t know.”
Jimmy came in a manila folder in his hand full of papers. I couldn’t describe the look on his face. A mix of anger, disgust, sadness, sympathy, and disbelief. Ok so maybe I could describe it. “How’s she doing?” he quietly asked. “She’ll live.” Johnny said washing his hands. “What’s that?” I asked him pointing to the folder. “Everything I could find on her and that piece of shit she calls a father.” he said raising the folder as more rage swept into his eyes. I have to say that I’ve never seen this side of him. He’s not an angry person. He’s the one we go to when we need a mood boost, or when we have something on our minds. Johnny may have a Psychology major, but Jimmy always has the best advice. “Can you leave her? You’re going to want to see this too.” he asked Johnny. “Yea let me give her some morphine. She should be out for the rest of the night.” Johnny finished up, and we headed to Shads office.
We walked in to find Shads sitting behind his desk. He looked stressed, his head resting against his finger tips with his elbows propped up on his desk. He looked up at us once we sat in the chairs in front of his desk. “She alive.” he asked. “Yea she’ll be alright. I gave her some painkillers she should be out for the rest of the night.” Johnny told him. He just nodded. “Not really sure what to do here. I’ve never taken a person as payment.” he confessed to us. “Sure as hell not doing what her dad was suggesting.” he mumbled resting his head in his hands again. “Well before you decided, you’re going to want to see this.” Jimmy chimed in plopping the folder on his desk. “What’s this?” he asked opening the folder. “The life story of one very broken girl.” Jimmy replied.
Shads, Johnny, and I started looking through the folder while Jimmy started telling us the story he pieced together. “Born Feb. 5th 1983 in Des Moines, IA,” he started. She’s a long way from home. “Parents got divorced in 84, and her dad moved out here. She lived with her mother and an older brother, who had a different father, till she was 15.” he explained. “How’d she end up out here?” I asked. “Getting to that. One morning her mother dropped her off at school. Her brother 19 at the time was working with their mother age 37 at a local hospital. While on the freeway a semi came barreling towards them. The driver asleep he had been driving for a strait 48hrs. Smashing into the back of them, they were forced through the guard rail down into the river below. Both unconscious the car filled with water and they drowned.” he paused. Sighing, he ran his fingers through his hair before continuing. “Her father was located, and she was sent out here to live with him. That’s when shit really started to go down hill for her.” He looked up at us. You could tell he was dreading this part of the story. “Enrolled in high school she was a good student and got good grades. When she turned 16 she started missing more school. One time for a whole week then suddenly dropped out.” he told us. “Hacking into her fathers personal computer I found some pretty disgusting information.” he said. “Like what?” Shads asked. Jimmy hesitated when I came across a piece of paper with the info Jimmy was getting ready to talk about. “$1000 per hour. $5000 all night.” I started reading what was on the paper. “That would be it.” he sighed out. “Her father started forcing her to prostitute herself at 16. He kept a list of clients, rates, and how much he received from each.” he continued. I’m sure if you were outside looking in you could see all of our hearts shatter as we put this story together. “He had a doctor on his client list that took care of screening all his customers for diseases as well as keeping her on birth control. He tended to any injuries she received.” He stopped and got up. “I’ll be right back.” and he quickly left returning moments later with another folder. “Here’s her medical records.” he said handing the folder to Johnny. Jimmy sat back down and picked up where he left off. “He did all this for free but in return he got free sessions.”
I skimmed through the client list. He had so many, cops, lawyers, and judges. Further down I noticed clients listed together as a group. “Why are these names grouped together?” I asked him. “Ah the bachelor parties and birthday parties.” he stated. I looked at him “The going rate for an all night strip show was $10,000. If you wanted more it was $15,000.” he finished. What the fuck. “Should’ve pulled the trigger.” I heard Shads mumble. Awkward short chuckles came from us as we continued through the information. Still skimming the client list I came across 4 names I knew. “James Root, Kirk Hammett, Chester Bennington, and Jacoby Shaddix.” I read the names out. They all looked at me. All of these men were in gangs. Kirk being part of the most powerful gang in the country, Metallica. “Jacoby’s on there?” Johnny asked. “Yep. Multiple times looks like he was a repeat. They all were. All would get all night sessions.” I continued through the information. “Looks like Jacoby spent the most time with her. He would have her for 2 days sometimes its says here.” I told them showing the list. “That’s because he was in love with her.” Jimmy stated. We looked at him confused. How did he know that? “He’s talked about her a few times to me during some of our parties.“ he said. “She’s the reason he quit cutting. I realized it was her when I found all this.“ he finished. Jacoby was the leader of Papa Roach one of our allies. “That explains the punch from Jim. He knew what he’s made her do.” Johnny said still looking through Tammy’s medical records. “Heroine.” I heard him whisper to himself. I looked at him, but he didn’t look up. “She was a heroine addict?” Shads asked. “Yea she’s overdosed twice once at 16 and once at 17.” he said. “Don’t think it was by choice guys.” we heard Jimmy “Checked into Sunny Shores Rehab on her 18th birthday, where she spent 2 years kicking the shit while earning her GED.” he continued “Also remember her dad saying there were ways to get her to comply?” he reminded us. We nodded. “So you think he forced this on her too.” I asked. “Makes sense doesn’t it? Get her so doped up she‘s too out of it to fight.” he said. We agreed.
I noticed an envelope sticking out from under all the papers in the folder that were now scattered across Shads desk. I grabbed it, and went to open it when Jimmy’s hand stopped me. “Those are kind of disturbing.” he warned before removing his hand. I nodded and opened the envelope. The pictures, oh my god the pictures. “What are they?” Shads asked when he seen the color in my face wash away. I started tossing the pictures one by one on his desks for them all to see. Her toes and fingers missing the nails. The holes in her hands and legs. The burns on her feet. The stab wounds in her stomach and back. All photographed. “Jesus Christ.” Shads whispered out as he looked at the photos. Johnny was frantically searching her medical records. “Found it.” he said pulling out a paper with a diagram of a person on it. All her injuries marked on it, a piece of paper with it listing their cause. “Wow this guy knew what he was doing.” he said as he read through the information. “He knew were to stab her and how deep so she didn’t die. Where to cut her without hitting any major arteries,” he paused, and sighed “Where to drill so he didn’t hit any nerves or tendons.” he had our full attention. “He didn’t just rip her nails off, he cut through them at the cuticle and then ripped them off.” it’s a good thing we don’t get queasy over this kind of stuff. A normal person would have upchucked by now. “You were right,” he said looking at me. “it was a blow torch.” Shads looked at us confused. “We saw the scars.” I said softly. He nodded. “10 stab wounds, 76 various cuts,” he paused again looking a little green. “His DNA was found on her.” now it was our turn to look green. We knew what he meant when he said “DNA”. “ Who did this.” I heard Shads growl. “Don’t know he used a fake name when he purchased her. I already looked.” Jimmy stated. “Even searched for a DNA match, nothing.”
Shads slammed his fists down on his desk. He stood violently causing his chair to topple over. We stared at him as he started pacing and rambling. “I should’ve pulled the fucking trigger. Should have put him down right fucking there. No warning. No hesitation.” he rambled to no one in particular. Jimmy stood placing a hand on his shoulder. “Relax man. You didn’t know. Don’t stress yourself. He’ll get his due justice.” he said with a mischievous grin. Shads couldn’t help but grin back nodding at him. He picked his chair up and sat down. “She can still work at the club,” he said looking at me “obviously it’s an escape for her I won’t take it away.” I nodded “How did you find all this?” I asked Jimmy. He still amazes me sometimes when it comes to finding shit out. “Haha a magician never tells.” he smirked at me.

Looks like daddy isn't winning any Father of the Year awards.

I would be interested in a rewrite if that’s what you feel like you wanna do. I would read the new version too, even though I don’t find anything wrong with the original.
