Chapter 39
Matt’s POV:
“There are still no leads on who the shooter was, or who was involved in the chase.” I shut off the TV and rubbed my eyes. Disturbed is still alive, and the news has be a buzz the past few days with the chase, and the man shot. They found his car in a lake a county away. Poor guy picked the wrong people to try to help.
Corey and Sid are still here. I was right about having them in there being a good thing. I wasn’t expecting them to go as far as to take a bullet for her though, and now they’ll have marks on their heads too. Which has brought me to my most resent decision. “Mind if I have a word before you leave?” I asked Corey, stepping into the infirmary. Joey, and Jim are here too, to take them home. They all know what happened. They had to know why their leader and second were staying here for the past few days.
He nodded, and followed me to my office. I motioned for him to sit before taking a my own seat. I pulled out some papers from my top desk drawer, and laid them in front of him. “What is this?” he asked skimming through the papers. “Terms of an alliance.” I told him. He looked up at me with slight shock and confusion. I smirked and cocked a brow. “You both took a bullet for one of mine. The least I could do is offer an alliance.” I said. A smile spread across his face, and he let out a chuckle. “You know that’s what Dave wanted to do,” he started reaching for a pen on my desk, “I would much rather be associated with you than him.” he finished as he signed the last page. “Is that why you were there?” I asked taking the papers from him, and signing them as well. He nodded. “You?” he questioned. “300 million in dope.” I said. He let out a whistle. “What happens now?” he asked knowing that Disturbed would be after both of us. “I don’t know yet.” I told him honestly.
We currently don’t know where they are. Jimmy hacked their security system, and has been watching their security cameras. They haven’t been back to their house. I imagine they have a secondary location they went to. We have one too, out of state. Jimmy has been trying to find it, but the only alias we know of is the one he used 10 years ago, and it’s a dead end. Dave has really been giving Jimmy a run for his money. He’s never had such a hard time finding someone. It took him almost a whole day to get into his home security. Something that usually takes 2 hours tops for him.
“I guess we wait for him to make the first move.” I said. Corey nodded. I dread to think of what his first move will be, but when you have nothing to go on for an offense, then all you can really do is plan for the defense. “Well we’re in this together. Can’t take us all down.” Corey said. I nodded. “Hope you’re right.”
Tammy’s POV:
“Be careful Tammy. Dave is a dangerous man.” Jim said as he hugged me goodbye. “You don’t have to tell me how dangerous he is.” I said pulling away. He held me firmly in place, and I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. Most people are lucky, and can forget about their past. Not me. It seems to like to show right up behind me, and bite me on the ass. Reminding me that its still there, and I’m not going to be able to escape it. The nightmares are back, only now there’s a face with the monster that haunts them. Brian’s been kind of beating himself up because he doesn’t think I feel safe with him anymore, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I just don’t feel safe with Dave out there.
I pulled away and wiped my eyes when I heard people coming. Matt was escorting Corey, Sid, and Joey out. I smiled at them. “Leaving?” I asked walking up to Corey. He nodded. “Well thanks for taking a bullet for me,” I said still smiling, “guess we’re not even anymore. Now I owe you.” I said. He stood there for a moment stroking his chin like he was in deep thought. “Well now hang on, you helped me out with Lzzy,” he started, “Still even.” he said with a grin. “Technically she helped you with Lzzy and introduced you to Stephanie. So not even you owe her.” Sid said matter of factually. “Oh yea. Hey how is that going?” I asked curiously. The smile on his face said it all. “That good huh?” I asked with a wide grin. “Great.” he said with sincerity. “Good I’m glad,” I said hugging him lightly so I didn’t hurt him, “You deserve it.” I said before pulling away. I turned to Sid, and hugged him as well. He took one too. “I’ll call you with the party details.” I heard Matt tell Corey as they walked to the door. “Party?” I asked cocking a brow. “Oh yea, hey have you met Slipknot our new allies?” Matt asked pretending like we didn’t know each other. “Seriously?” I asked kind of excited. He nodded. “Yay.” I cheered, clapping a little.
They chuckled a little before heading to the door. “Don’t be the first to pass out.” I warned back at them as I skipped away to find Brian. “I don’t think you have to worry about that,” I heard Matt as I headed away, “Short-shit’s usually the first to pass out.” he finished with chuckled.
I found Brian out back in a lounger smoking. He had one leg on each side of the lounger, and was leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. I slid in behind him, and wrapped my arms around his waist as I rested my head on his back. “Whatch ya doooin?” I asked in my best Isabella voice. He let out a chuckle. “Just getting some fresh air.” he said with a small sigh. “I don’t think it counts if you’re sucking on that.” I said lightly flicking the cigarette between his fingers. “No probably not.” he said before taking one more drag, and flicking it away. I moved my arms up under his and rested my hands on his shoulders. He let out a depressed sigh, and rested his hands on mine. “Whats the matter baby?” I asked already having an idea. He’s been so bummed about my nightmares being back. You would think he was having them, but it just makes me love him more knowing he cares so much about it. “Nothing.” he said avoiding the question. “Don’t give me that. You need to quit beating yourself up about this.” I told him. “And its not like I can’t go back to sleep. Brian they have nothing to do with how you make me feel.” I said trying to reassure him for the hundredth time. He can be so stubborn sometimes. “But I can’t prevent them anymore.” he argued. “It’s him Brian,” I said moving to straddle his lap, so I could look at him. “He brought everything back, and now I see his face every time I close my eyes.” I told him. “Even though I couldn’t see it then, I can see it now, and it only makes them worse.” I continued, tears filling my eyes. He wrapped his arms around me, and held me tight to him. “There’s no one else on this earth that makes me feel as safe as you do. No one else that calms me like you do. There’s no on else that I love more than you, and these nightmares haven’t changed a single thing.” I told him hoping he would stop worrying about this. “I love you too. I’ll try to not worry about it so much.” he said. “I’m sure they’ll go away soon. He just opened up some old scars. That‘s all.” I said pulling away slightly. He cupped my face, and wiped the few tears I let out away.
A throat clearing snapped our attention away from each other, to the back door. We seen Shadz standing there, and he motioned for us to follow him with his head. I stood from Brian’s lap, and grabbed his hand as he stood. We followed Shadz to his office where everyone else were already waiting. Matt looked like he was still in a lot of pain. His arm is going to have to be in a sling for the next 2 weeks. At least he’s alive. Shadz moved around, and stood behind his desk. “First things first,” he started, “we have a new alley. Corey and I signed in the alliance today before he left.” he explained. “Who would have thought we would end up being allies with Slipknot.” Brian said with a slight chuckle. There were a few more chuckles. “Well with resent events I just thought-” Shadz started to explain. “No need to explain it to us boss man.” Jimmy said with a grin interrupting him. Shadz returned his smile and continued. “We don’t know were Disturbed is, or what kind of condition they are in from the wreak,” he said, his face full of worry, “No one is to go anywhere by themselves anymore. Not until we have a location on them. We won’t hide from them, but we will be laying low for a little while.” he said. “This mean’s no new jobs for a while. We’ll proceed with the ones we already have, but nothing new.” he stated finally sitting in his chair. “So what are we going to do about Disturbed?” Zacky asked. “Right now we wait, and see what they do.” he said. “You want us to just sit around and wait?” Brian asked a little frustrated. “What else do you want me to do Brian? We have nothing to go on.” Shadz snapped back at him. “I don’t like it anymore than probably anyone else, but all we can do now is wait for him to make the first move.” he said. I don’t even want to think about what that’s going to be.

I need a filler chapter, and was thinking about writing in Tammy and Dave's first encounter in a dream sequence. It would contain rape and torture, so let me know if you would wanna read it....
I would be interested in a rewrite if that’s what you feel like you wanna do. I would read the new version too, even though I don’t find anything wrong with the original.
